Here is the Pinned Comment, CLARIFICATION: YOU MUST SIDE WITH SELLEN TO GET THE ARMOR SETS FROM AZUR AND LUSAT! I apologize if this wasn’t clear enough in the video when I explain the outcome and rewards of siding with either NPC. CORRECTION: There is no invasion near Craftsman Shack. I mixed this up with the Anastasia Tarnished Eater invasion that takes place at the Corpse-Stench Shack. I'll continue to update this comment with Helpful information as time goes on. Thanks for watching!
After getting her glinstone, i got a message that her body died. Now she is nowhere on the map and there are no sumonning signs at library? Also went to church of vows and don't need absolution. Confused AF! Any suggestions?
Sellen was a kind and loving character, with such a pleasing voice and final words before the transformation was so friendly and hopeful. I just don't understand why she transformed into a non ideal state, it made me she'd tears.
There are tons of moral lessons portrayed in the game... A good example is is Boc's quest and the theme of acceptance of oneself. In this case, the moral teaching could be in the ambition of pursuit and how it can consume oneself. I do wonder if the creators of the game planned it that way though...
It’s hilarious that the greif stricken and pretty much schizophrenic renalla just comedically hides away from sellen behind a curtain 7ft away. She looks like she just moved there naturally like she never even noticed sellen enter.
This game is insane how it weaves together. Absolutely NO clue how you have pieced all this together, but because of you my NG+ has been more enjoyable as I am getting and doing all the side quests. Again a deep thank you!
Idk if anyone knows this but you can actually save Sellen just by not telling her about Lusat’s body. She’ll just stay in the Raya Lucaria Library with the option for you to tell her about it or learn new spells. Until you tell her about Lusat she doesn’t actually become that ball of mages.
@@dux5525this happened to me, Sellen won’t turn into ball, Rennala moves to behind a bookshelf, I can get azurs armour set but can’t get Lusats armour. Weird alternative ending to the side quest.
Don’t go to the round table after you get her prime glintstone! It will say it’s been destroyed and she will pass away and have to finish the next steps on the next play through ! Just a FYI.
Bro, great guide. I did everything in one night thanks to this guide. There was no misunderstandings or wrong turns like other guides. I like to do at least one whole quest a night within my limited sleep and work time and this was a huge help. Thanks a lot.
Thanks for always showing the map when talking about where to go next. It's unbelievable/maddening that so many other "guides" to sidequests never or very rarely show on the map where they are talking about.
You forgot to mention that you have to side sellen at the end to get the set of the two mages at the end, I realized after siding the other guy and killing sellen (and him for his armor and the ancient dragon smithing stone)
Thanks for the guide. This quest is pretty much impossible without a guide. God only knows how you are supposed to find that illusory boulder in Caelid. Note: In the Sellia Hideaway, after you meet the ancient sorcerer, the Revenant cannot fit through the tunnel that exits the area (the one where the video says "run up this tunnel to avoid being eaten by the Revenant"). If you have any ranged attack, you can turn around and kill the Revenant to access its loot, the most notable being a Lost Ashes of War. The Revenant is one of those many armed dudes that many people consider one of the most annoying enemies in the game. The boss fight in Sellia hideaway is against three of those crystal statues, a chakram one, a spear one and a mage. You can easily die just trying to summon help, so be careful. They also inflict scarlet rot. The mage is the most dangerous. Like all crystal statues, they take very little damage at first, but you will eventually fracture them and then they take tons of damage. At first this fight seemed impossible, but really if you just concentrate on not being hit and use a long reach weapon to chip away at whichever one you can safely hit, they soon go down. Giant Hunt Ash of War is great against these bastards because it knocks them off their feet. You can put Giant Hunt on the Guardian Swordspear if you are a dex build since it counts as a halberd. These statues only guard some sorcery spell I think, so if you don't use sorcery you could completely skip them. They are not worth much runes.
Also something that can help you as a mage is using Nights Maiden Mist. This sorcery make a cloud of grey smoke that does dmg over time and its not affected by the super armor of the 3 crystal statues
Just subbed to feed marshmallow! Also I’ve watched about 3 of these explaining vids and they have been really in depth and simple to follow bought this game for Christmas and am slowly beating the game and these vids help out a ton ❤️
everytime i look up a guide i usually just open whatever seems good to me.. and in this case its shatter was the result so ive prioritized like 8 open questline tabs that are all its shatter.. lol thanks for the time man
Your videos are on point. I appreciate how you show the path that we need to take on the map before going to destination. Very efficient and clear. Thank you so much!
I didnt do this questline till i finished the game, sellen was the very last thing i had left in the game. Im blown away about how much i absolutely HATED this game ao much at the start and in the end, what a magnificent game it turned out to be! Of course i chose the Lord of Chaos ending and progressed the game with sword of night and flame with intentions of ng+ as a mage since i have high faith/Int so i chose to remain bad and help sellen for all the sorcerer items. 😈
I completely missed the basement at waypoint ruins & sellen until i saw this video (i’d reached mountains of the giants by this point!) This game is crazy like that. Thanks to your video i was able to complete her quest and get some bonus items before reaching the end of the campaign. Thanks man
Very helpful, clearly explained everything. One thing, when visiting Lusat in prison, I missed the jump over the first gap and dropped to the crystals below, dropping down from there put me at the bottom and I could see the seal door in the distance. As I approached, it agro'd the sorcery but his spells didn't reach so I had time to get ready to blast him.
For the record I appreciate the video n all but one crucial thing you left out before fighting Sellen you gotta go fight Rennala n get access to the area in which you fight Sellen
You could have mentions that you couldn’t get the mage armor set if you didn’t side with sullen before that option instead of including that info at the end of the videos🤦♂️
I genuinely dont see how that's a problem.... I'm doing the end right now and I made sure to watch the outcomes of BOTH options before deciding. Why would anyone purposefully use this guide to help them with the quest, and then not watch the consequences of of every option?
A bit of advice for everyone having problem with secrate passage or hidden dores just use Margit shackles once when you enter a cave you can buy it from patches for just 5k runes it can also bind morgott and Margit for 5 sec
Got mowed down by the dang iron maiden as I ran through hermit village. Letting Sellen survive seems worse than killing her. I finished her off out of mercy and kept Jerren alive
Thanks. I was stuck on not being able to insert her essence for a while. I never talked to Jarren after to Radahm fight. I guess all the other guides assumed we wouldn't fast travel away lol
i really wonder how the game expects you to do this on your own. There is zero hint you have to talk to the dude at the castle after getting the primal glintstone like wtf
This is the second guide I’ve watched of yours. Very clear and concise. It’s also step by step as if I were in kindergarten, which is a good thing. Some of these other guides leave out those tiny details that really help out. Also do you have a group password?
Jerren = Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone, Jerren Armor, Sellen Bell Bearing Sellen = Spiral Shard, Glintstone Kris, Lusat Set, Azur Glintstone Set, Jerren's Amor Basically you are choosing between 1 ADSS, or a ton of mage gear. (Choose Sellen) You get plenty in ADSS in future runs. Here's why Sellen is a better choice. Spiral Shard is the most powerful spell in the game besides Comet Azur Glintstone Kris is a Mage dagger that increases the damage of Comets Lusat Set has highest Magic Defense and good Vitality Azur Glintsone Set Increases Comet Damage Basically you pair Azur set with the Kris and spam comets to lay waste.
For anyone recent, ignore finding lusat, that way she won't turn into a ball, sure you won't get her armour set, but it's worth it, plus you still get glint stone Kris anyways which is the main reason to do this quest, hope this helped
Hey man great video, was able to complete the quest with no problem. Sided with sellen an killed J…one question, where do you get the ancient dragon smithing stone?
This guide is amazing however I’m stuck….. I wanna get the both of the mage’s armor but I don’t wanna side with sellen though. I don’t know what to do lol 😭
I don't mind the game not holding my hand through each check point to complete a quest, but these quests are near impossible without a guide. I'd have finished the game without even making sense of what the NPCs wanted me to do. Most quests don't seem to have a clear sequence until you check a video on youtube.
Her final dialogues were pretty heartwarming. She tells you to become elden lord and the school will have be there to support you. She even wants to become your student one day. I came back to find her turned into a ball and im noooooooooo.
If it does not work go to nearest grace pass time, you would assume time passes when traveling automaticly but appearntly this logic does not apply, From Software aren't exactly known for there coding skills, especially considering lack of ultrawide support and the amount of game crashes, instead of delaying the game they released a broken game.
For me it was the other way around!!! You will be able to find Jerren in Witchbane Ruins 09:05 ONLY AFTER you find and activate a new body of Sellia near Ranni's Rise!!!
Tried to look at the comments to no avail BUT if I choose to side with Sellen -- will I also receive the Ancient Dragon Somber Stone? Thanks for the amazing video!
heya. It is just an ancient dragon smithing stone (not somber) and no, you will only get that for siding with Jerren. However, that is basically the only noteworthy thing you get from siding with Jerren and you won't get the Sorcerer Armor set/Glintstone Kris/Spell if you side with Jerren, you only get those for siding with Sellen.
