I've heard that you can go through the front. I'm sure by dodging the arrows, but even then I'm sure there's a bunch of tough enemies. So, it's the option of go all out or sneak, and assassinate everyone quietly. I'll probably go for sneaking when I do play, because I never play as a tank in DS games.
Yeah, it was funny. If I were in his shoes I probably would have still tried to run in though, maybe seeing if it's possible to stealth past the line of sight of the ballista, or dodge its shots, or block them - or such. Then die a few times, and eventually give up and use the side route like a sane person lol.
The intriguing story of DS1, the lighting promised in DS2, the smoothness of DS3, and the stealth and mobility of Sekiro, all in a grand open world? It really looks like we are about to play something truly incredible. 112 days to go!
@@heavywestern5943 i think its safe to assume that you can atleast get excited for a FromSoftware game, eventhough its not always perfect, but they have been killing it for the last decade
The dlc came out last month, now I can’t wait for whatever Miyazaki has next 😅 I’d say how can they ever top Elden Ring, but that’s probably what people said what they finished Dark Souls III
THIS is how you show off a title. No bullshit, just raw gameplay showing the core experience. The Irish/Gaelic influence is stunning, the hype truly is real.
You can find lots of elements from Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Sekiro in here. It's almost like this is a combination of all of their past projects into one giant super game. Can't fucking wait!
It really looks like they correctly identified the best parts of dark souls, bloodborne and sekiro, and mixed them seamlessly into an open-world game. So damn excited.
Im with you. Interested to see how melee attack or magic moves get mapped to control. I got the impression that there was alot at the players disposal at any given time. Nioh had a cool formula with a key button that changed alot of other controls.
@Matthew Rendenm What? Did you see the stealth system? Straight from Sekiro. And the weapons remind me of trick weapons of Bloodborne. Don't know what you've been watching.
@UCkYg1JCTIRQd3kyCepPFBCw Good morning. Where is the problem in reusing assets? The art design is awesome and I like the familiar sound effects or assets in the open world. It still has it's unique style to set it apart from DS, BB and Sekiro.
Cant wait to watch someone speed run this game in 10 minutes by glitching the horse to fly across the map and land on the final bosses head, flipping him off the map at 140mph
@@daniboypt9524 people can care about both casual runs and speedruns? seeing people break the game like that is funny as shit, even if it has nothing to do with normal runs.
You know what I appreciated most about this? The calm, understated tone of the narrator, and to be honest, the whole video. However it turns out, they're clearly confident in their work that they don't feel the need to over-hype everything as much as possible which is very refreshing these days.
You know its gonna be good when youve got clipping issues a minute into the video but the devs were probably just like “nah it dont matter game too good lol”
Man tell me about it, I would think about games that was like a real world to walk about in. Now it’s actually real, better then I could imagine. The only thing that makes me said is that in 100 years I won’t be able to see how far we’ve come
@@UnblockedOne2 I don’t blame you companies don’t care like how they use to. Same goes w movies. I’m 26 95 baby and movie quality and games had so much more effort put into them. Now it’s just none but the same games different skins. Half games. Online only games. Reboots reboots reboots. I’ve slowed down super heavy on gaming and as a kid. I use to be obsessed w video games. Like when mw2 came out or halo 1/2/3 gears of war 2/3. Etc. all the companies are now multi billion dollar companies and they just don’t care nomore
@Shin Shaman it's supposed to be a culmination of all their games and they've done a pretty good job. Let's be honest the only reason you don't like what you see here is because the game was made for the ps4 and the artstyle was focused on more than graphics. It has a new story, weapons, armor, takes mechanics not from ds, music, bosses enemies, areas, its open world and has a horse. Its also has the verticality of sekiro and the flexibility of ds combat. Not much to complain about really
@Shin Shaman Only reason you thought it was ps3 graphics is because you're still watching shit in 480p. The funny thing is that you still came here and gave this views and engagement. Way to feed the alg troll.
Magic looks really cool, maybe the coolest of any Fromsoft title. I love that summons are really seamlessly integrated into the flow of gameplay, just like you're casting a spell. And I love how the bosses look as unique as past Fromsoft titles and as hard. They look fantastic and the game looks amazing.
I wish all games were like this, I wish all games were like this, I wish all games were like this. As a kid I heard form friends what open world games are like, I imagined what we saw here, and nowdays I've played two or three open world games on a friend's console and... I wish they were like Elden Ring instead. I'm 20 btw I just didn't have games as a kid. And I don't want to even touch an open world one. Games today are "Go here this way exactly. Oh you're awesome! Oh how awesome you are! Congradulations! Ah! I can't! AAA!" and nothing looks or feels important.
Let's see. It was a good game not the best From Software game but a good game nonetheless. For GOTY 2022, I'll wait to see what GoW: Ragnarok and Starfield has in store.
@@romdog1818 I kinda wish we had regenerating mana, it’s annoying that every other class bar throwables gets unlimited attacks and mana users have to resort to using melee as a substitute once they’re out.

@@simpson6700 To be fair, DS2's trailer was really good looking. The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic trailers and a lot of the Halo series trailers were works of art as well. Companies 100% need to show actual gameplay before the release though.
Love how they are not afraid of "spoiling" the game giving the name of the boss and telling who he is. Because you probably won't be able to "spoil" the game narrative to yourself even after finishing the game:)
Holy shit, a map? I've been so used to traversing in Souls games on my own and we get a fucking map in this game? This is truly a next level Souls game XD
The design direction looks incredible. The world is beautiful. The characters have a good balance of whimsy, and creepy, and the spells are awesome! I really look forward to this.
@@Combotful games like this, but not this one. I may have played a ton of similar games, but that in no way changes my desire to jump into this one, and explore the world.

Unlike Ubisoft with Assassin's creed where it's lost all identity at least with this it's the same core experience with new cool things added on top of what everyone loves about the soulsborne formula.

I don't think I'll truly be ready for this. NPC's. Such a big map. Great gameplay and graphics. So much to explore. Possibly even secrets. And after so long, we've acquired the ultimate power. JUMPING!
This definitely looks like a game I'll play for years to come damn it looks good. I'm loving the dark souls style it has alongside the newer mechanics we haven't seen in a soulsbourne game yet
The world building was done by George R.R. Martin (the genius behind Game of Thrones). So we have the innovator of high fantasy George R.R. Martin working alongside the innovator of action rpgs Hidetaka Miyazaki.

In college once me and my friend were on mushrooms and this weird kid who lived in a single dorm started talking to us in the halls. My friend was literally staring up at the ceiling the entire time so he asked what was up and we told him we were on shrooms. His whole persona changed and he got so excited and hyped up and just 'had' to show us Salad Fingers. We proceeded to go into his weird room and watch every episode of Salad Fingers while he switched between staring at us and the monitor to see how we were reacting to his favorite parts. It was literally like being in hell with the devil. College

But what is original? It all looks the same as every other RPG out in the last 10 years... Witcher 3 was almost 7 years ago. What exactly is 7 years on from that?
This vid was honestly so well done. You guys provided a lot of content without spoiling anything besides what you can potentially expect. I'm not one for conspiracies but did anyone notice the multiple types of horseback minibosses? Combinable/buyable item by slaying them all maybe? :O

I love how Fromsoft implemented both Dark Souls' and Sekiro's style of movement/combat while also adding tons of new original things to the mix! This looks very promising :D
Really impressive ! This game has, compared to other FromSoft games: -14:52 Mounted Exploration -15:05 Non Hostile NPCs -15:37 Mounted combat -15:53 Directional ragdoll -15:56 Blocking animations related to the hit received and the blocking item used -17:52 A map, time of the day indication and map markers -19:45 Item crafting -19:58 Stealth
Im not sure if the enemies are non hostile. Maybe its just because he was riding on his horse to fast. Maybe you are right because they just want to escort the carriage
Miyazaki and his team are incredibly talented. This feels so familiar, yet new at the same time. I still play all of the souls games regularly to this day. Can't wait to have another amazing entry to add to the rotation!
That's the point of squeal's they are suppose to reward you for playing the previous titles while also making you feel that they are new games. Like Mario for example it's always a platformer and you know what a mushroom, fire flower, and star does but they also throw in 1-2 new power-ups to make it feel new while also giving you what you loved from the previous titles. Now on the opposite side of that spectrum we have "Call of duty shoot a man" where they have released some version of world war 2 with all the same damn guns like 4 dang times now...repulsive and scummy just because technology gets better and we can make better LOOKING stuff doesn't mean we should re-release games exceptions are genuine remasters of very old games like the Crash trilogy or the Spyro trilogy those were fine and just.
Mounted combat is something I didn't expect to see in a FromSoftware game and looks DOPE. Looks like the world have a nice verticality, the OST sounds epic as always, the combat looks amazing with a more magical touch which I enjoy a lot and the enemies, well, it's FromSoftware, badass is the only word to describe it. I'm absolutely excited to explore this world, god damn FromSoftware.
25:32 You can see the classic optimisation kicks in and the cloth on his armor resumes its physics when the camera pans back to the character, meaning these scenes will reflect the true nature of the game, not just hand-crafted for a trailer
That is not just an optimization, but more like a bug that is related to the optimization. Physics kicks in but buggy implementation causes cloth to have that weird behavior. While in reality cloth should have a resting state and when physics kicks in it should resume from that proper resting state, making the transition very difficult to notice. I think From Soft learned a very hard lesson to stay away from hand-crafted trailers with DS2 where they got massive backlash.
@Shin Shaman yes, we are mostly fans here, there is a lot of games i don´t like and i don´t bitch about it in the comments. Try to make use of your time for somethin worthwhile, life is short.
@Shin Shaman Dude what are you on about? there are so many different things about these games. not to mention the graphics, they are stunning. You probably only play fifa and you're mad that it's the same game as all the old ones with nothing new. You have probably not played any souls games or thinks its too hard. Get a grip dude and also your videos are hella cringe
So they took the best aspects of Bloodborne and Sekiro, mixed them and added them to a highly refined Dark Souls formula. I absolutely love it. The game looks beautiful. This honestly is giving me more of a Dark Souls 4 vibe. Highly doubt they'll ever be able to top the lore on Dark Souls but extremely interested in seeing what they do with this story.
I was playing Bloodborne and been getting through the Cainhurst castle. Just feeling like I'm gonna fall when reaching Martyr Logarius, and here's this knight leaping off cliffs doing superhero landings like an Acrobat on LSD.
Can't believe this game is almost two years old, feels like yesterday when we went 2 years without any info or trailers after the 2019 reveal trailer, thinking the game was never coming
Never thought I’d see FromSoft and a map in the same game. Everything in this game looks so interesting so far. Not to mention the world looks beautiful, really excited for this 👍
Bruh, in the old Fromsoftware games people would often spend hours running around an area with no idea where to go or where they were. With a Sandbox of this magnitude a map seems to be a necessity.
Mind when Breath of the Wild came out and reviews compared it to Dark Souls because of the early difficulty of the game. This looks like FromSoftware took that personally. I cannot wait for this.
Looks like all the lessons they have learned form Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro have all come together in this game.. the combat and movement looks great.. This is the #1 game ive been looking forward to since the original announcement trailer. Fromsoft just gets better and better with each game. one of the few Studios that truly Evolve and learn year after year game after game.
No they havent. Its mostly dark souls combat with very little of sekiro. Problem is in dark souls you could just roll roll hit roll all the bosses. In sekiro you couldn't just deflect deflect hit deflect whole game. You had to jump, dodge, mikiri, and so on for three types of perilous attacks of which each had different approch to being dealt with.
I like the sense of scale and exploration in this. It gives the suspense of not knowing what you might find around the corner. Though it doesn't have the dark, dying world feel to it like the other three games do, this world seems more alive, positive, greener, brighter, and still dangerous but not quite as hopeless.
I need help understanding Elder Ring. Is there more to this game or mostly wandering around and encounter enemies and bosses? Is there a story or quests, is there a town you meet npcs? Can coop be played the whole time or is it only to help with bosses or dugeons? Are dungeons meant to grind for gear? World seems a bit empty hopefully there is a lot to do.
@@Lichsnitch you may come along to some npc questline like any soulsborne title also some specific tasks to change the ending related lore wise so yeah theres more than killing enemies and bosses
@@Lichsnitch There is a main story, with a few main regions you will explore. Each of these main regions' goal is to find the main "legacy dungeon", a dark souls style area but much bigger, and to kill its final boss. There will also be a hub area, and npc questlines are said to have a greater impact on the game, with much more defined characters than the dark souls games.
@@themongoose9184 Vaati has literally plagiarized entire videos worth of written content, dude. That happened a long time ago, now. Few years, so considering how absolutely massive he's gotten a lot of people just forgot about it.
Don't worry guys, in a regular playthrough you would have seen "You died" at least 5 times taking those hits from the last boss. They just made the player invincible for trailer purposes.
This is how gameplay trailers should be. It puts you into the perspective of what the player is actually going to see (minus the HUD). No cinematics needed.
@Shin Shaman sure, you’re the best, you’re better than anyone, nobody can do anything without you’re permission. Surely you were born to be an elitist therefor you will definitely become the king of the world.
Everyone else is talking about how smooth the gameplay is, and I'm just here marveling at the fact that Havel the Rock just casually bombs in on horseback two thirds into the showcase.
Incredible. Magic, the red lightning, new weapon skills and movesets will definitely spice up the gameplay. My inner explorer is already crying in despair (yet also joy) at the size and complexity of the map though. 26:20 - the guy barely showed up and I was like, "Patches?"
I'm wondering whether or not the dragon head attack from the summoned companion along with all of the wind weapon arts are new types of magic. Maybe theyre combining pyromancy, lightning, and the dragon stones all together into one magic system since lightning seems to be linked to dragons in this game while faith spells have been refocused to be built around the force spells.
My good goodness, From Soft has outdone themselves this time! Everything about this looks absolutely gorgeous! I can only hope the release is just as good.
