The fact that these two shattered people find comfort in each other and can rebuild a world they see fit to rule together in for eternity is so romantic.

What happens in her ending is that she takes Marika’s place, while you become her Elden Lord (consort), but she does not want to rule the Lands Between, so both of you leave the place on an 1000 year journey

The silence as the knight neels before Renna really empathizes the love and emotion he has for her. It is a really touching scene; it was all worth it for him to have Renna, his ladyfriend, become his wife. There is so much emotion in this one scene. Courtship at it's best.

I don't care about marriage, but this is the first time I've ever felt like getting married.

Can we all agree that Ranni has got to be the most ethereal and best-looking character in the whole game? Her design is spot on to what she embodies and what she believes the world should be.

This must be the perfect ending. You? You get true love. The world? A new age which doesn't sound bad at all.

I love the touch at the end you wore Blaidd's armor. It's like at the end you're honoring your brother-in-law by wearing his armor to the final battle and ensuring his last sacrifice was meaningful.

This ending is almost like a legendary romantic fairytale of a warrior falling in love with a witch.

Little Bonus: In the end cutscene if you want her to call you her "Dear Consort" instead of "Fair Consort", go to her tower after finishing the quest and talk to her doll and exhaust all dialogue.

This ending is considered "fanon" canon in the eyes of fans and I can see why. It's a beautiful ending and you proved everyone wrong in the end through your efforts.

The scene with the ring was so well made, you who just went thru hell to get there and she; who is exhausted and immobile after what seems to be a gruesome ordeal, slaying her two fingers, accepting the ring she never wanted to use, admitting that this stubborn tarnish don't mind spending the next 1000 years with you in the dark. Just so hopelessly romantic, something we don't get to see a lot in fromsoft's games.

You know, this ending is essentially your character achieving what everyone in the game deemed impossible,a tarnished not only finding a maiden of their own but a wife and queen, becoming a lord of the cosmos transcending and upending everything. And above all else, finding happiness among the stars no longer alone. Best ending by far, nothing can change my mind on this.

"Let us go together..... My dear consort eternal". Difficult to describe how deeply satisfying hearing such words from her.

It always baffles me that there is a good bit of people that hate Ranni. I personally never get why. A. She isn't an angel, and doesn't pretend to be one, but she is hardly some demon. Can you fault her for that since your character is hardly an angel yourself? How many corpses did you make to get where the game ends? And not even remotely is all those death's deserved. B. People say she is the reason Godwyn is dead, I don't think so. She stole the rune of death so SHE could die. You find out if you look into the black knife assassins they aren't under her control. She more likely hired them, nothing more. Them killing Godwyn was unrelated to her. Also the fact they actually are hunting Ranni's group, case in point look at Iji's death. Also if I recall, I think there is dead assassins near Blaidd when you go to put him out of his mistery. Clearly they aren't working for her if they are trying to kill them. C. I know this can show up a lot, but look at her reactions. When you meet her in Ranni's Rise, she is shocked you are there. A lot of people say she is manipulating you, but you have and always were a wild card from basically moment one. She NEVER expected to see you again, much less become integral to her fate coming true. If anything, she seemed wary you found her again since you could be a threat, remember, by this point in the game, you generally will have 2 great runes, something literally unheard of. Not even the powerful Malenia has 2. Going off C still, you go past what she expects time and time again. You and Blaidd go underground trying to find a way to get to Nokrom, but you are the one that pulls it off, you find out about Radahn, kill him, Blaidd even straight up tells you YOU were the reason he fell, even if Blaidd helped, he knows he wasn't the major reason for it. And solely go to Nokrom and get the sword, without basically any idea of what you were exactly looking for. Even when she rewards you and says you are free to go and was happy with what you did. You again break expectations since ONLY YOU kept trying to move forward, even Iji and Blaidd were content to be like this is on Ranni now. You find Ranni again, much to her embarrassment since I personally think mini Ranni is her real body which houses her soul, aka her most vulnerable. Notice she doesn't ask to be put down or....just fade away like she has in her human sized form? But she feels safe in your hands and honestly, she isn't wrong, by this stage you have 3 runes, you are easily becoming the strongest being at this stage, the thought of facing god which seemed like an idle fancy is not only becoming possible, but also very likely. D. We have no idea if Ranni could have even taken out the Baleful Shadow. Ranni is very often sure of herself and knows her strength/limits and even she admits it was beyond what she was expecting. She tries to say goodbye again thinking this will be the last time she sees anyone again and even says she loves Iji and Blaidd, and if you read what she says, she says it to you too. She admits you are in the same group as those two which she loves and trusts with her life, to the point she tries to backtrack since she is embarrassed she becomes aware of what she is saying, almost sounding like a confession even. E. You once again do the impossible, you find the use for her key, find her wedding ring, take out a damn space monster which very well could have been another outer god pawn. You take the dragon guarding her tower, which was guarding where she was out, and find and marry her. If you listen to how she talks, you can get a hint of disbelief in her tone. She is literally blown away you have legit gone above and beyond, even those that knew her her entire life. And here you are putting a wedding ring on her. Again, remember, you were an unknown, a possible massive threat, at this stage there wasn't any doubt you would fail to become Elden Lord, it wasn't so much as "Go the path many have taken of becoming the Elden Lord" as it was "Finish your task of becoming Elden Lord so we can be reunited" and you outright proposed to her. She had NO intentions of marrying, her ring even says such. Ranni is such a well written character in my eyes since you can see the progression in her story. You can easily skip by it all and not really see much. Or even not meet her to begin with and nothing happens. But if you sit there and listen, you can see how her view of you went from someone serving her, to someone she loves. And not like she did with Iji and Blaidd which she saw as family, She loved you as her spouse. I think deep down, Ranni didn't want to be lonely but didn't think anyone else could follow her on her path due to how dangerous it was. Your character comes in and not only shows they could follow, they spearheaded her entire path and quite literally opened the gates to the heavens FOR HER. You not only granted her wish on how to fix things, but also her unspoken wish of not being alone and I like to think she is extremely grateful and happy about that.

The game was never about thus whole become a lord stuff, it was always about getting a Maiden, the first thing you get thrown at you... Maidenless! This is the most hardcore dating Sim I ever played 😂

That first npc is probably like. "Damn shoulda kept my mouth shut about him being maidenless and all now we have an endless night full of fear and doubt."

Can't help but notice that in this ending, Marika doesn't crumble into rubble like in the Lord of Chaos ending. She "passes on" in the same manner other demigods do at the moment of their destined death. You and Ranni dissolve the Golden Order once and for all, in the same manner that the Fire Keeper lets the First Flame go out at the end of Dark Souls 3. And now, as then, we go quietly into a cold, dark, and gentle night.

When the Tarnished isn't busy slaughtering enemies he marries a witch.

What some people seem to miss is that Ranni's body is sat on the corpse of a three fingers, covered in blood. She fought and killed what's basically a god by herself in a frail puppet body...and won.

You can get a maiden...and she's a witch to boot This is clearly the best ending, the true ending

This ending just gives you such a profound sense of peace, really feels like a true end

Giving the tarnished a romance option makes him more relatable to the player and makes the protagonist more believable.

Never thought that they would actually do a romance in a grim game like this.

This ending and chaos ending feel the best. 1. Ranni gives you peace 2. The frenzied flame gives you rest i.e. everything is burnt away in a world with no death (basically hell) so no one has to suffer anymore.

Who ever writer or developer that did this. I tip my hat to you in respect. What a cultured lad.

Didn’t realize what putting the ring on actually meant. Just thought “oh it is just a ring, they have special effects in all the souls game”. Then she called me her lord and I was kinda confused. Then After grabbing the moonlight great sword, I decided to read the description to see what the justification for its existence is in this game. It said something to the effect that carina royals gave it as a gift to their spouses and that’s when I realized I accidentally married a doll possessed by a demigod.

I finished the game yesterday for the first time and that's the ending I got without a guide. After watching the other endings, I'm so glad I got this one 😅

Best Wedding Gift ever A Moon Greatsword, bestowed by a Carian queen upon her spouse to honor long-standing tradition. One of the legendary armaments. Ranni's sigil is a full moon, cold and leaden, and this sword is but a beam of its light.

Secret ending while also simultaneously being the one most people had by the time I got 100% on the game only a few days after release. People really like their NPC endings.

Such a great character man. She’s still sinister, like most of the other demigods, but she also has ideals and ambitions that she truly believes will be beneficial for everybody, not just herself. Whether those have merit, is up to the player to decide.

This was the first ending I went for. Was not disappointed 🤣

No one will see this but I got this questline done and ended up doing the regular ending because I didnt know I had to summon Ranni 💀

I love the line better "Let us go together, my dear consort eternal" than the other line "Well then, shall we? My fair consort eternal" The change indicated a subtlety of intimacy. You can only get the first line if you exhausted all her dialogues, which means that you really went out of your way to spend more time with Ranni. Not to sound like a simp, but the inclusion of romantic themes in a Soulsborne game is a breath of fresh air, that in the general bleakness of the game that is expected from Fromsoft, where it's easy to feel small and anxious, having the opportunity to have an ending that makes you feel less alone makes a lot of difference of the gaming experience.

Honestly, this makes all of the thousand deaths both me and a dozen enemies had to endure totally worth it.

Imho, this ending makes “Elden Ring” variation of common, yet essential “Male hero journey” trope. Journey from weak to strong, from less then nobody to “lord”, from being alone to having consort/wife/soulmate. Fighting for it and achieving it, when many given up, become complacent or failed. Trying agains all, often unfair, odds overcome all kinds of challenges that world throws on you. Exaggerated, but good.

It's a shame a lot of her lines seem to be mistranslated, the corrected lines make her ending one of the better ones instead of making it sound like she is a psychopath removing everyone's senses.
