It’s these somewhat “niche” status builds that can really catch somebody off guard. Plenty of people always have frost boluses or bleed boluses on hand, but not so much for the less seen status builds like a madness build focusing on Vyke’s War Spear or a sleep build centered around the St. Trina’s Torch
It's almost like that on a lot of his vids lately. A wpn vid usually turns into using 1-3 of the same AoWs and stuff like this and dragon (only used magic breath) he uses one or two out of the whole category.
That would require the Ironjar aromatic (steel perfume) being not a complete pain to farm. It needs 3 living jar shards and big jars only have a 20% drop chance(100% on first drop per individual big jar) and small jars have as low as a 1% drop chance... It would still be awful to grind even if it needed only 1 jar shard per craft. Let alone its current 3.
Statuses are always powerful, but those that force an opponent into a state of vulnerability are perhaps even more so. Sleep and madness are incredible tools due to the fact that they are impossible to dodge, unlike blood or frost procs. Rather conveniently, all of the madness incants share the fire damage type with one of the strongest, most accessible sleep weapons - Stm Trina's torch - as well as sharing faith scaling, making them incredibly effective to wield alongside each other
Talking about Inescapable Frenzy to a friend: "It's like the Jungle Book where the snake says "Look me in the eye when I'm speaking to you", except the person starts screaming and their head explodes"
Really hope the DLC introduces more Madness weapons. The great spear is great and all but Madness really needs more variety. Same for Sleep and Poison really.
Loving to see you go in depth and do more specialized builds. You can honestly get really creative with builds in this game and seeing someone as special as you use them really makes it better. Thanks
Surprised there wasn't a madness grab in there but the focus was more the iron aromatic and the unendurable frenzy combo. And what a combo it is ! Honestly I'd like to see a whole video focused on howl buffed inescapable frenzy grabs cause I don't feel like you see that very often and I'm sure it could do huge damage
A madness build works great with this cool purple torch in the game I guess it puts people to sleep while you proc madness on them seems like a cool build to do forgot the name of it though
1st off, love the content Chase! You're 1 of my favourite DS/ER content creators, so I'll digest any PvP videos you make.. but since you asked for suggestions: Would like to see more parry + crit build gameplay! You inspired me to play a dark int-based melee character (with some chaos infusions with my dagger for example bc of the hornet ring bug) in ds3 and it was my fav build of all time using caestus and a variety of melee weapons like the rapier, estoc, gottards, crow quills, Astoria GS, onikiri & ubidachi, frayed blade, darkdrift, etc.. my fav setup by far was just a caestus and rapier/estoc tho! I know you recently did a lightning build that's similar, even tho you've already done it I'd love to see more of it! That or for something a little different I'd suggest a fast roll spell blade build. Int-based scaling with a few spells to pew pew back at those annoying wizards thinking they're safe in the back!
Chasethebro invaiding the Crimson demon Megumin, the mage of explosions to invade futanarienjoyer X,D Sometimes i like the names of the characters what players use in the game.
" Foul Tarnished, In search of Goated Host of Fingers. " " Someone must kill this Goated. Let it be ChaseTheBro. " --- Fight begins. --- " Well thou Art of Madness Build. Skilled player power must Truly run in thy Veins. " " Goated host of Fingers. " --- Fight ends. --- " I shall remember thee ChaseTheBro. Smould'ring with thy megre Flame. Cower in fear of the Night. The hands of the Omen shall brook thee no Quarter... "
No matter how skilled and perfectionist his gameplay can be, our man Chase still fell for the oldest trick in the book. The "funny name bait". Or, maybe, he just misses Giantsflame take Thee, those are, indeed, big balls...
Hey chase thought I’d let you know real quick there’s currently a bug where if you use sacred order it transfers to any weapon, meaning you can have a sacred order buffer malikeths blade
@@chancerasmussen4356 Sacred order is a weapon buff. Shared order is the aura buff. I think both get rid of skeletons but the aura buff "shares" the effect with other weapons.
@@phantom_valIt's categorized as a Weapon buff (so it stacks with Body and Aura buffs) but it behaves entirely like a Body buff, meaning it affects all your weapons (even if you switch off the one that casted it) including ones that are literally unbuffable. This was before 1.09 aswell
Ironically, i was just thinking of suggesting a madness/deathblight build the other day and then heres this. I'm surprised you didnt use the black dumpling for this build, or even the fingerprint shield with shield crash.
Love your pvp content! I got the game not too long ago and just discovered the Ringed Finger Hammer. I really wanna see what shenanigans you’ll get from it. If it’s anything like the other videos I’ve watched from you, I’m sure it’ll be awesome! Keep up the good work!
If you ever do another build focused on the madness effect you should go full arcane and use 1 dragon communion seal and one frenzyflame seal. Also cast with the communion seal. The madness buildup is significantly higher.
Are you aware of any actual numbers/breakpoints for this? I'm trying a madness proc build, and want to know how much I should pump into arcane. I am currently operating under the assumption that 30/50/80 at low/mid/high level, but does anyone know the actual numbers?
I wonder how much build up just punching someone has. If its decent you could probably just chase people to hit them with the punches till they go mad then use the Frenzy grab to finish them, would be pretty funny
Hey chase, have you ever thought about having a vykes war spear in your left hand and a colossal sword in your right, and doing something similar to the sleep build you did recently only with madness? It would be as easy to proc, but if you did it at lower levels against people with lower focus it could probably pump out some serious damage.
Love the build Chase! Would you mind trying out a death blight build in a future video by using Eclipse Shotel and the Fia's Mist spell? I think it'd be fun watching you brutally execute people and turn them into trees
Looks like fun but my invasions never work out like this. 5-10 minutes of waiting for an invasion to happen and when it finally does I get insta-killed.
I wish there was a Vyke's spear that was smithing stone. I love that weapon and it's moveset so much. I'd love to be able to put it on Int or Cold, or really anything.
1:47 You're telling me Chase neither saw the phantom using the finger severer or that the text said he left himself, he blind lol btw if you add the Crimsonwhorl Bubbletear to when you use ironjar and unescapable frenzy, you can kill ganks in one of the most brain dead ways ever in souls pvp
I like to call myself the modern barker with my inescapable Frenzy mixup. Max cast speed rock sling and when they roll hit em with the grab. It goes crazy (was actually compiling clips of grabbing people with the Frenzy spell but xbox changed to delete clips after so long + I switched to pc (also didn't think it would be viewed) and no longer have access to a majority of my favorite clips and it turned me off from it)
Hey chase I was thinking when the DLC comes out when you’re grinding for the new weapons and stuff you could maybe record when you’re invaded by other people, I think it’d be pretty fun content to see. Love you man thanks for all the great content!
So I do pvp with this build and the best roll catch is to quick cast flame of Frenzy with max cast speed. It almost always hits when they are trying to gain distance
Erdsteel daggers hit some absurd damage on 80 Faith since they naturally have faith scaling that you can compound by infusing with sacred or flame art not to mention they don't use much weight. There's also a number of spell combos like Bloodflame Talons into WoG at max cast speed. Int/Faith can also do some crazy stuff with mixing spells. I forget if you did the Loretta's combo on the Scythes yet but it's pretty absurd damage/poise wise.
Chosen Tarnished, and would-be Lord. Descend into the depths, far below the Erdtree Capital. Seek audience with the Three Fingers and the flame of frenzy. If you inherit the flame of frenzy, your flesh will serve as kindling and the girl can be spared ...setting you on the righteous path of lordship. The path of the Lord of Chaos. Burn the Erdtree to the ground, and incinerate all that divides and distinguishes. Ahhh, may chaos take the world! May chaos take the world!
Small tip chase my man. You can use the Black Dumpling mask to get a buff after being cursed yourself with madness. Perfect for running a build purely for it👊
I love it. I use briris howl to madness people coming at me and then I inescapable frenzy them. Brutal. I put briri on my first spell slot and inescapable on the second.
Here's an idea, sleep and madness, use the pully crossbow with sleep bolts, sleep pots, vykes in main hand and the secondary weapon being the frenzied seal to cast unescapable frenzy in slept or mad players
I like it. How about a frost build with only sorceries and cold AoWs? Also I found a good combo chain, but dunno if it true combos - my connection is never good enough - but, guardian sword spear, jumping R2 > R1 > Loretta’s slash. I found it helped to apply blackflame blade before the jump to ensure the stagger. Perhaps a black knife and blackflame build with the swordspear?
