“I am Malenia - Blade of Miquela and I have never known defeat.” No matter how many times you hear that iconic introduction, it gives you absolute chills.
I hate to say it but I saw this coming. This boss can and will take years off your life. Cause even if you beat her you know in your heart that all you did was survive
Malenia: So you are the one who slaughtered all those merchants? Afro: Yeah, what about it? Malenia: You asked one of them to tell you what death felt like…prepare to learn
My fav for malenia is seeing people fight right after cutscene, realizing she has life steal, and then her water fowl attack. This is why she is my favorite boss/character in the game
The moment he realized she had a second phase is everything. First time I fought her, I knew immediately that she had one. This is what some of us have been waiting for, and I think all of us aren't disappointed.
milenia made me take a couple months break after dying 15 times cus i coulden't touch her without getting yeeted into a new dimension came back ready to lose killed her in my 2 tries straight after coming back the pain and joy i felt
I’m surprised more people weren’t expecting a second phase I’d heard Malenia was difficult prior to playing but that’s all I knew When I fought her and finally got her to second phase I set down the controller for a sec to wipe off the sweat from my hands, then grabbed my controller again and prepared for round two
@@logeyperogi1805 what got to me is in 14 out of the 15 tries before my break i got her second phase to the point one pebble spell or a fist could kill her but i couldne't land the hit
I was mad respecting his level of optimism. I was like: yes, that is definitely an optimistic person that can handle life bravely. After his hundred attempt, I concluded that his optimism was bad for his mental health. Never had such realisation before. Thank you dude for unraveling such angle of life. Truly! You are wonderful! 🏆🏆🏆
@@bryann_7197 not really. Play the game however you want. Spirit summons are in the game for a reason. NG+ Is in the game for a reason. Don’t let people gatekeep you from having fun
@@bryann_7197 only way I did it was with my strength build I put bloodhound step on guts sword dodged jump attack stagger it took forever though had to be real patient
After a merciless beating from the Malenia, Afro uninstalls the game and goes to touch grass. Will this connection with nature give Afro the confidence he needs to take her on and win or will he have his cheeks spread apart by Malenia's merciless swordplay? Find out next time on AfroSenju: The Elden Ring Chronicles.
The fear and anxiety that you can hear in his voice when he beat the first phase and said "Did they ever have a cutscene after they die before?" fucking sent me. Holy shit man these just keep getting better.
@@samadagwis0361 It’s deep for a stranger playing a video game. “The fear and anxiety he felt! You can just hear it!” Dude it’s just a recording of a man playing a video game chill out. BTW aren’t we all 12 here? We are watching a stranger playing video games. We couldn’t be adults doing this right?
I wanna believe that the reason why Malenia repeats her name and title every time she kills him is b/c Afro kept mispronouncing her name and she didn’t want him to forget 😂. Great content as always, man! We believe!!!
The moment when every player realizes there's a phase 2. No Elden Ring player will ever. forget. this. moment. Eye Dilation - check haha. I'm only on NG+3 atm but it feels like the more interactions with her, the more calculated you get but that Waterfowl Dance is straight fuckery no matter how many times I've seen it.
I felt this frustration. I used heavy weapons, no summon. That did not go over well with Maleina lol. Had to upgrade that coded blade so I could get enough swings in between her attacks. The waterfowl dance has 3 homing attacks. If you deselect her when she starts to float and wind up the attack and run in little circles below her, you can confuse the tracker and the first dance will miss, generally want to roll through her second dance, and the third you can usually roll away (avoid getting too close to walls). Safety is usually in the dance not at the edges of her swings were the damage is hitting you from. OR you can just chuck an Ice Pot at her and it staggers her out of the entire move.
Holy shit I just got elden ring on Sunday and I’m now at melania this is my first time being stuck for more than 2-3 hours I’m a lvl 112 Dex build I’ve been getting her consistently to phase 2, does the Ice potion trick work for her shadow clone move and her water fowl with the scarlet rot in 2nd phase?
Heavy Weapons are one of the best ways to beat her ironically. but you need a LOT of stamina, and good stamina management to keep the pressure on. she staggers easily and posture breaks decently well when you use heavy weapons, and you can deal a LOT of damage quickly with them.
@@JustAS1nk don't rely on that trick, it can only work trice and you don't know what her status buildup is because it recovers. Just learn the moveset and aggressively look for all the openings.
I personally thought the blasphemous blade was amazing against her in both phases the first one gets staggered very easily with it and the takers flames can reach her when she does the scarlet bloom attack
No boss in history has ever made me feel as terrified as when Malenia floated into the air and said "You will witness true horror. Now, rot." Told me two things, there is a 2ND FUCKING PHASE and she inflicts rot now, all I could think about is what I have done to deserve this.
I love how at 19:18 he screamed “ITS NOT OVER!?!” Because it had been so long since he even beat the first phase he completely forgot about the second 😂😂😂😂
@@ianyowpa3352 that would be years later when he reinstalls elden ring LOL he gonna put her name right beside nameless kings on his most fucked up stuff in his gaming life LOL
The video everyone's been anticipating for the past couple of weeks, here we are. This is about to be funny for sure 💀 "Has a boss ever had a cutscene after they died before?"
Miracle of sound here?? Let me take this opportunity to say that the music you make is fucking awesome dude! Somehow every song you release is a certified banger! Thats real talent. I love all your songs and among them valhalla calling (all versions) and embers rise have gotta be my favorite. Cant wait for the elden ring song!
the best part is that his build is literally everything you need to make this fight as easy as it gets - bleed + frostbite, bloodhound step, and the flies on top of all that
He might as well use black knife or mimic and get rob from his friend again cause there’s no reason someone should struggle on her while overleveled with this much cheese I’m on ng6 r and first play through I beat her with 12 deaths with a shield and greatsword. If I had this build I’d have obliterated her less than 5 deaths, I’m sure Afro will kill her eventually though
He went through so many emotion when he first entered the second stage, first was pure joy, then doubt, then to anxiousness, then anger, then begging for the death scene, then denial when the second phase beggings, to more denial, to finally questioning this entire game.
i went thru all those same emotions. someone told me they struggled on her and i beat first phase like aw man that wasnt as hard as i thot. 2md phase pops up and i left to do other shit
She's pretty easy though in my book. Not joking on that either. I just stun locked her with Swarm of Flies and bullied her into a corner and just dodged whenever she got free. It's weird how I beat her 4 in tries but was stuck on Elden Beast/ Radagon for a while.
Afro: “Give me the death screen already, were done!” Malenia: “Wait.” That timing and everything about this video made my day. Man I was depressed as hell and needed a laugh. Thank you Afro. I sincerely hope you beat her soon.
The key not to rage in this is to accept that you will fail and you’re only learning not really fighting to win. Just accept the fact that she will kill you over and over. (Also switch to something that’s not a whip, preferably a faster weapon like a katana.)
Seeing Afro completely caught of guard, flabbergasted, blindsided, and honestly bamboozled by Melenia’s first attack was worth it, she’s an anime character at the end of her arc and doesn’t wait for no bullshit, I love it
16:35 denial and anger 16:57 bargaining 17:05 depression 17:44 acceptance 17:49 meaning These are the 6 stages of grief. I'm sorry bro. Edit: honestly i dont know how many stages of grief there are anymore.
i would be confused too if after 20+ hours of gameplay a boss suddenly has cutscenes after they die, but especially in souls game..... that is not a good sign at all.
@@ermahgerd1678 The problem ain't the damage. It's the patience required to dodge her swings and whip her ass. I believe Afro would have a better chance if he used the katanas.
Previously on elden ring. Massive, Thick, Heavy and far too rough. It was too big to be called a sword. Indeed it was like a heap of raw iron. Afro goes further with this new sidequest helping a young girl on the brink of death and with the help of an odd man he rids the scarlet rot in her body and even gains a new arm thanks to Afro. Continuing on he Hope's to find new places and even more so. New horrors. With his New Build of sheer strength and rage he fights a Mage Knight who proves to be a bit of a challenge but nothing our hero cant handle. He travels further down Miquella's hailtree. Only to find his friend with the prosthetic arm waiting. Hoping to discover what kind of relationship she has with this Meliena. Hearing humors of how troublesome this foe is Afro relishes the thought but also doesn't think it'll be much of a challenge as the masses say. Will Afro find this mysterious new person? Will he be able to defeat her as easily as he thinks? Will Afro meet. True horror. Next time on. Elden ring the story of afrosenju..... 12:00 Afro: "What's your NAME." The entire comment section: "Oh she'll tell you, for at least 2 more episodes."
This reminds me of when I first fought Melania and was having a terrible time and now a year later I consistently beat her first try, she's such a skill check it's amazing
