I want to play a strength build, so I chose hero. Is it a good build? I have beaten all souls games using strength build. Can you recommend the best strength classes?
Do a Doctor Strange Sorcerer Supreme build all the sorceries, all the incantations, all the magical weapons and weapon arts, all the summons, best magic related armor. Balls to the wall
If anyone is struggling to keep their fp up with all this casting you can use the sacrificial axe. It has a passive ability that restores fp when you kill something, so against hordes of low health enemies it can halve the cost of your incantations when using aoe abilities.
@@HiTxMaN93 if you want to use it as a weapon then sure, but you still get the fp buff even if you don't meet the strength requirement. my buddy has been using it as a secondary weapon since he has enough carry weight. If you don't have enough carry weight to mid roll with two weapons equipped the axe becomes far more situational, but it's still nice to have in your inventory.
For anyone looking to do more fire dmg. If u head over to caelid (east of limgrave) to where the tree is on your map. Thier a boss that drop flame shrouding cracked tear that can mix with your flask to increase fire dmg.
This is great, thank you. Something I do struggle with is what armour to aim for in these builds. After some experimentation I understand the medium vs heavy rolling, but some key armour items would be great, like the crowns for mages etc.
It depends, what i came to realize was as a tank i was using heavy load, and being in heavy load increases your poise so you dont get flinched, using a colossal weapon i can sweep through enemies and take mininal damage.
@@hawkgaming3029 you never really want to be heavy rolling. So as a tank, to wear the heaviest armor, you would push Endurance to up your Equip Load so that you are at least medium rolling. The heavier the roll the less invulnerable frames to get hit. Lighter roll = more s meaning you're safer.
Important thing to note is that the roar medalion is not for Dragon Breath attacks and does not buff those. It instead buffs stuff like the War Cry Ash of War on battle axes. I would suggest getting something to buff incantations instead
I'd love to see a Dex Faith build! Also this build looks really cool, I'm tempted to respec into it. I'd definitely appreciate any follow ups about mid game builds as well as weapons to use
I'm running Dex Faith as a prophet, I'm not sure it's going too well... but I'm still very early in the game on my first playthrough. so we'll see how it goes.
Using this now and just got the Dragonlord sword and breath attack for flare. Kind of a nameless thing style. Really fucking squishy though, but having met the requirements and then some for the weapons and most spells I wanted, I can dump it into health and carry weight
the nice thing about sorceries and faith is you got a couple of them each with their own theme for specific type of classes like black flame,frenzied glame,bestial/earth,lightning,bloodflame is one
I think I'll go with his Paladin build and mix it with this one. I think it will work great as a hybrid. Decent 1h weapon + shield and pyromancies for melting packs and bosses.
I really appreciate these build videos. I’ve gotten so much from them but also have been showing them to my friends that hate souls games and it got one of them to buy the game. Cant wait to see the more advanced versions of this build the samurai, and mage. My wife is playing mage and loving it.
Damn I started with prophet, pumping a lot into faith and str, but realized I always use fire spells. Really helpful guide, I think I will play as Paladin with this character and make a new one following this guide
Thanks for the video. As for recommendations for more advanced builds, I would say, something that matches the Beginner guides you were putting, or how to continue from them. For example for me, I have been using the spell caster melee build, and I am very interested in seeing how this build develops into later-more advanced game.
I'm doing the samd build as a secondary char, there's a int scaling katana you can get and im going for that kind of build. Doing tons of damage with a buffed katana that deals magic dmg and shoots magic too
Alex that was my thought! I just started with the paladin build, but I kind of want to dip into fire casting as well (just got the dragonfire). What would you think would be good? Shield in offhand, and sword/finger swapping in main hand, depending on the situation?
That is what i've being doing, quality-faith build with dragonfire and now lightning spear. It does need a lot of stats so it's bound to be weak level-wise but it's fun, has both AoE, short range and long range options.

Indiana jones build or ghost rider build either works great lol. I personally want a geralt build for confessor a dps melee with some incantations to help buff him up idk how to do it right tho lol
i just got the whip and it's been so good for me. the range on it is excellent and most mobs just keep staggering. i easily beat the roundtable mad tongue guy with just basic whip attacks.
If you want to get the dragon spells early and aren't afraid of a little cheese, the immobile dragon in the Southeast of the map that everyone has a video on [since you can kill it for free with a bleed weapon and it gives 75k or 98k with golden foot active] also gives *5* dragon hearts.
I killed him with a club right out the gate. You wait until the dragon breathes fire then swoop in, bash his head/legs, go back in front of him, wait for him to breathe fire again and repeat. If you're patient and hangout right in front of him it's not too bad
Amazing! I’m going to use this to start my pyro confessor. Would be very grateful for a “spellsword” faith confessor build. I’m basically making a red mage - dex weapons, heals, dps and buff spells, and fancy hats
Weaping continent middle west area has a small tomb with a faith scaling scythe. Drop down from hub area and run passed invader to find a pure faith fist item which fuckin rocks but takes 30 fth
Just started a build just like this today, and catch flame really surprised me. This spell is amazing early game. They did a really good job with these early game spells imo
Roar Medallion works on everything except Dragon spells. Yes, it's worthless. Also, if you use the Dragon Communion Seal, this scales to an insane degree with Arcane, much better than Faith.
I hope you can get the later version of your mage build. I'm so unsure what spells to go after the rock sling as the other spells seem so weak. Thank you for all that you do.

Thanks for these videos. I've been trying a few things to see what I would enjoy playing till the end. I was wondering if you have any videos about how to allocate stat point effectively. That's the one issue I have when playing.
There's a easier way to obtain a dragon heart in fact you can 5 from a single one go to third Marika's church grace site it's just north of the waypoint ruins site find the teleport stone just outside the church you'll spawn in greyrolls dragon barrow head south until you come across a grace site the cross the bridge ignoring the dragon after crossing follow the road west til you come at a fork head south east and you should come across fort faroth grace site there's a giant dragon just down the hill that doesn't do anything and can't attack you go behind it's left wing and attack it til it dies you'll want to use a bleeding weapon cause the dragon has a ton of health and being able to cause blood loss on it will help make the process faster the dragon cannot harm you and once it's dead you'll get 5 dragon hearts and 100k runes
I personally like to use reduvia as my melee weapon for this build because it scales with arcane, is an overall good weapon, and looks like a dragon’s fang
I'm a little late but after your first step, head east and post these medium sized guard camp and keep heading east, around something you'll see a hill with tons of troll dudes

A little more specificity regarding the locations you are referring to. You say to go kill the trolls on top of the hill and then the boss in the caves. Even just bringing up the map momentarily would clarify what you're talking about.
Great video as always! Just a suggestion but I think it would be really cool to see a summoner/necromancer build that stays back a buffs up a team to fight for them, it might could be fun.
Confimrming the roar medalion observations: I used Rotten Breath on a the Secluded Chamber Giant both with and without the medallion, and the damge output was the same.
Tip for new characters: you can kill the sleeping dragon in calied and get five dragon hearts and skip killing that dragon and pick up three dragon incants at the alter in limgrave without killing anything but the guys in coastal cave. Also grab the morning star hammer from the back of the wagon from weeping peninsula and can kill the dragon faster with the bleed passive.
you can bait the knight to get killed by the chariot trap pretty easily also you can get the hp stam endurance talisman down there without fighting if you can dodge well
I'd love to see A Beast Monk that uses The "Beast" Skills as well as Dragon skills, not to mention those "Crucible" abilities like the tail swipe and the horn attack spell. I've been using it, got those Faith based fists from the Roundtable as my main weapons.
Because it is very easy to burn tons of FP on it. For smaller packs/individual pulls, you're better off using a different incantation for resource management.
There is an axe that drops from the giant death bird over by castle morne. If you have it in your offhand, it recoups fp for each enemy killed. The giant archer stuns the boss as well. Keep the bird between you and the archer and you can get easy critical hits.
My top request would be for a battlemage style melee/casting hybrid. Not sure if it makes more sense to start as Astrologer and then slowly build into melee, or something like Samurai and then add casting. I'm assuming there is gear available that scales with INT or something similar. I love melee playstyle in Soulsborne games but the improvements to the casting system in ER look fun so I'd love to make some use of spells without going 100% mage.
He already did a Prisoner spellblade build guide, which is similar to what I'm running. You could prioritise str instead of dex for heavier armor and weapons. I'm considering respeccing to str build myself because all of the coolest weapons I've found so far are 2handers. Right now I use a staff in offhand to buff my straight sword, which I then switch to 2-hand and use the sword skill for huge posture damage. And the staff is handy with glint spells to pick things off from range if needed.
Id really like to see a melee/ranged hybrid build, Like switching between ranged weapon and melee. Always been a playstyle I love in rpgs but not always supported well
Might I suggest keeping way more blue flasks and keeping the heal incantation so you don't get punished as much. Without many tears in the beginning, it feels more cost effective. It just takes a bit longer to get off than drinking a flask so don't go all blue. Maybe 1 or 2 red
I genuinely don't see how a dev can make a game as good as Elden Ring. The creativity, design and everything else is off the charts. FromSoft just proved they're the best in the game.
My finger seal is +7 by the time I got Dragon seal so I'm not even using it until I upgrade it I guess. Wouldn't Finger seal still be better for Catch flame? Dragon fire depletes your FP way too quick. I feel like it's only good for clearing ads. You my as well use Flame of Frenzy for that though.
You went over paladin already but i was trying to go a dps confessor like a dex blade faith mix for max dps. Im just saying it could be called the witcher build its like the exact same thing give it a dex weapon and use incantantions like geralt lol ez views
I love this build, but wondering if this build is good against bosses since the cast time of dragon spell is very lengthy? and the highest arcane requirement is only 17, so far, is there any point to place more into arcane? like does it increase the damage of dragon spell?
There’s a spot I’m not sure you can look it up where an elder dragon is just sitting on a spot , gives like 4/5 dragon hearts and 75k runes , easy , doesn’t damage you, then you can go to the dragon communion church and get em all
Idk where "that hills" is... There's a lot of hills... then head into the tunnel area... Lol uh mind giving the players who new to Elden ring and don't know the map an idea of where to actually go?
If anyone isnt satisfied with just the fire breath or they want more, i suggest looking up how to get 75k runes easy, which also nets 5 dragons hearts and then find the other dragon alter thing, and there are way more breaths. The scarlet rot breath works wonders
I did a Castlevania build, took some running around and dying but at level 12 i started playing as a confessor with a steel chained flail w/ sacred flame buff, and a whip with the blood blade buff. I used the radagan's talisman to give me +5 to str/end/dex so I could use the flail. I also ran and got the missionary's cookbooks so I can lob holy and fire bombs. Its been a ton of fun.
I did a hybrid of this and a str/faith build. Started as Hero. Here's what I did before the first story boss: -faith to 15 -arcane to 12 -killed swamp dragon for a heart -picked up dragon fire from the shrine -vigor to 20 and mind to 15 -picked up morningstar (or any bleed weapon) -killed mother dragon for 5 hearts and runes -strength to 20, end to 20, faith to 17 for (lightning) -spend runes in whatever else -pick up all dragon spells from the church with 12 arcane requirement (rot/magic/frost) - go find a beefy 2 hand weapon Proceed to breath fire/rot/magic/frost throw lightning and smash everything in your path as you work towards these stats: 40 vigor, 40 str, 40 faith, 17 arc, add 25+ in endurance/mind however you wish. Rot is stupid OP against anything it works on and stacks with other status!
Awesome video! And a nice explanation. A question please: if I were tl decide and go for the Dragon Communion Seal build, then should I stop puting points on Faith and focus Arcane? I ask because I'm a Prophet using this build. I'm using a 3+Finger-Seal, a 3+Divine-Vow-Claymore and a 3+Steel-Wire-Torch. I currently have 20 Mind, 15 Vigor, 14 Arcane and 20 Faith, and the minimum requiremnt for Claymore
How much should I upgrade the starter seal? I want to do the black flame build also found on this channel, so should I just get the Godslayer seal and upgrade that the second I get it? Also is it good for the whole game then?

With my eye on the Dragon Knight and magic dragon knight builds on this channel - instead of this caster oriented build I went with shield and spiked club and dragon communion seal. Also using flame sling and dragon fire. This gives me good range and AoE but I can also block counter and stun with the club. I also have enough equipment load to also dual wield with the morning star / spiked club. Truly a solid early game setup that flows well into the “dragon knight” setup. Only down side is I didn’t put as many points into mind early on. At lvl 20 on this character and bosses are a breeze and co op is awesome since I can melt or bleed invaders and bosses :)
Was gonna make a strictly faith/paladin for my first build. Then I discovered the dragon temple and the power of arcane/bleed. Now I’m a dragon priest…
Nice I think I found my build. Who doesn't want to turn into a half dragon monster burning away the enemies? I hope he does a mid/late game video for this build as well.
So, I've gone a few directions with this build and its made me happy overall. I'm using Reduvia and it fills a gap I felt the initial setup was lacking. Catch Flame is really nice for high damage close bursting, which is nice, but there wasn't any mid ranged single target spells in the arsenal. Reduvia scaling off Arcane in a 1 to 1 ratio makes it feel nice and having a ranged single target fast attack fills the hole I felt was in the build. I've gotten several more of the dragon incantations and all of them are fun. I'm currently leveling faith to 24 to replace Dragonfire with Agheel's Flame which seemed like the natural progression. I'm going to take Endurance up to 15 for a bit more carry weight because I'm using a Spiked Caestus as my Strike option, though this might be overkill because I have Glintstone Breath as well. After that I'll probably take Mind up to 30 to get a bit longer on the channel before going deep into Arcane and Faith, probably stopping at 40 Faith and taking Arcane to 60 sometime down the road. If I decide to stop at SL 125 then it'll just be 28 Mind which should be plenty. Current Stats: Vigor - 30 Mind - 25 Endurance - 8 Strength - 11 Dexterity - 13 Intelligence - 7 Faith - 20 Arcane - 20 Planned Final Stats (SL 125): Vigor - 30 Mind - 28 Endurance - 15 Strength - 11 Dexterity - 13 Intelligence - 7 Faith - 40 Arcane - 60 Edit: Decided to stick with Dragonfire because of Agheel's Flame lifting you off the ground is rather dangerous.
The animation is a gift and a curse on one hand you can easily dodge or otherwise be unable to be hit by a lot of enemies but as you said it can have some danger to it, but you can now jump and lay down fire with the tradeoff of not casting on your horse. I tend to mix and match the breath styles. Also completely agree with going all in on arcane over faith. With the charm scaling as well as raw dmg amp for my dragon incantations. Started as a wretch for rp reasons so a bit of losses particularly in int but I'm torn between trying to use the dragon fist to further fuel the dragon theme, but that 20 str requirement.
@@bboy458 Completely understand, still waiting to see about the community consensus on soul level given so many things have changed with weapon upgrades some first impression softcaps, etc. Oh also dragon claw has some fringe uses vs the big stone giants, idk if it's the splash hitting a head weak point for some of their animations or what but that spell alone can 1-2 shot them depending on their scaling for the map. Something the attack naturally flows into albeit at the cost of all your fp but that's not new for dragon incantations XD. Also midway through the cast you get hyperarmor something not found too often I've seen in spellcasting.

Been playing as Prophet, what have yall been using for a weapon with this sort of build? I'm still using spear and opted for the Partisan spear but want to switch to something else that would work with this sort of build.
One more weapon to thing about - the Cipher Pata. Fist weapon that requires 30 faith, scales with faith and deals only Holy damage. good things about it: bypasses physical res- great for heavy armored foes, different damage type than fire and lightning, costs 0fp to attack. uses barely any stamina to attack, has a weapon art that's and unblockable hit - bye bye shield users and... weghs 0lbs so it doesn't affect your load. has a pretty damn cool look to boot :)
