It's such a shame so many forms of parrying are completely invalidated by carian retaliation, thops barrier and golden parry. Not only do they get better frames on the start up and party window but have extra interactions with weapons and spells Very nice video tho
@thespecialedwards2133 I agree my guy but that’s what makes the sword parry even more satisfying! Another thing the swords have going for them is the element of surprise. It’s more common for someone to expect parry on a shield rather than a weapon!

Can you do a video on how to time these? I always find the timing to be way different from shields... but that may just be an illusion because of how its animated.
@sirrealism7300 I can possibly do one in the future thanks! I don’t know the frame data or anything tho I literally have just practiced so much I do it practically by instinct now. With the slower start up the sword parry has I feel you just have to time it a little earlier than usual! Even though they can be a pain the banished knights at the Dragon temple in Farum Azula are enemies that helped me practice my timing. Once you feel confident enough you can even try parrying the lunging storm attack the one with the halberd does! Good luck bro hope this helped a bit 🤙
Also I swear on EVERYTHING if you're close enough carian retaliation can parry the physical staff swing on the sword spells. I've had it happen ONCE on a complete fluke misclick but it did indeed happen

@Cesarmcruz-pr1hq Not the top top of the line but I pay for pretty good internet lol a lot of the times I feel it’s because of the servers idk. Latency really be a silent killer tho

Great parries! Man Elden Ring really needs something like the Gotthard Twinswords. I used them to humiliate parry god's in ds3, but there's nothing of the sort to punish mindless mashing ;-;
I'm new to Elden Ring, in the stance that I haven't played it yet and plan on getting into it. To me Parrying seems like a Damn Good Spam Check, and looks like you can Parry with Any Sword Base weapon? If I'm wrong I'd love to know more, I thought the only dodge/Block was Rolling around bc I'm kinda dumb
I have no idea how people can do parries in such tight frame windows with lag. It's abhorrently hard for me. And the worst part is that the risk is so great that I have no reason to try it out. Bank on a 5% chance to win the fight/deal lots of damage?
There was more than one build in the video but the main stats are Dex, Endurance and Vigor. Throw lightning infusion on dual scimitars and there you go! 50+ Vigor 25+ Endurance 75+ Dex Hope this helped!
