Very cool build. Really enjoyed seeing an int build played by someone actually using some intelligence instead of the typical wizardry one finds in pvp. I'm very tempted to respec my mage build (currently a hybrid melee/caster arcane/int/dex build using the albunauric staff and a mix of dex/arcane and dex/int weapons. Yes, that means I can ps RoB and Moonveil and get good damage out of both. No, im not evil enough to do it). Quick note: a lower cost alternative to falling rajn of stars to counter ladder campers is nightmist. For some reason it gets an insane boost to its radius of effect and I think a bonus to damage as well when it's cast in the vicinity of a ladder. People tend to underestimate it, thinking they can just quickly move through it, but the cloud keeps getting bigger, and the damage adds up really quick. (BTW while you aren't wrong about the Kris being underused, it's funny that you mentioned it in the one invasion where a phantom used it against you)
Thank you bro appreciate that a lot! Your a good soul for not spamming moonveil haha sounds like an interesting build tho. The nights mist is a top tier spell definitely adding that when I go back to this build! And I know whenever you use underrated weapons you find someone else using it hahaha weird luck!
Love the mage fashion, I personally use the nomadic merchants finery for my mage character, the cape looks great with the scarab helm but I might have to give this look a try
Took a lot of skill to play this way. Good on you for trying out some unique spell options. People don't understand that magic isn't that op, because they have low vigor, or are generally bad at dodge timings, so I'm glad you're showing that it is a struggle when you don't have hyper armor, fast cast times, or relyable roll catches when you're mainly relying on casting.
You did the bullet hell/delayed arrival spells invasion! IT WAS AWESOME! Thanks for running with my comment :) Gotta say, Bubble overperformed my expectations, as did Magic Glintblade. Liked the Cometshard in there too - I think people really sleep on that going right over to Comet, not realizing Comet is horrific overkill on anything other than a full health target and just not worth all that damned FP. It was really cool seeing people try all the usual sorcery that's way too common and lose too :3 Shoutout to the Sorcery duel in particular, loved that invasion =) Very visually spectacular. You were getting really good at playing around the phalanxes not always going at people if you avoided looking directly at them in some of those too ^_^
Thank you bro appreciate that! Was a really fun one to play around with and definitely going back to it at some point! So thanks for the suggestion there! Glad you enjoyed that full mage invasion was a fun one as well! Yeah the phalanx was better than I was expecting, great stuff man!
When doing pure sorcery builds you should dual wield staffs to stack buffs. A few examples in case you are unaware, if I were to use the carian regal scepter in my right hand it would boost my full moon sorceries by 10%. You can stack this effect by using not only holding it in your right but also in your left as the buff transfers and stacks on top of your right hand buff, even if it is the same buff, so you would effectively have 20% bonus dmg with full moon sorceries. I mained a pure sorcerer for a long time with like an 80-90% duel win rate so I can give you another tip. Instead of stacking the same staff, especially if you use a variety of spells, you can main hand Lusat's staff and off hand the buff staff. For example, I would main hand Lusat's staff and off hand the carian glintstone staff to boost my carian sword sorceries. This was beneficial because Lusat's staff has the highest sorcery scaling in the game at 80 int (which every pure sorcerer should hit in some way unless underleveled) for a cost of extra fp per cast. You can decide if it's worth it for you but for me especially when fighting higher skilled opponents I always found it more useful to hit as hard as I can whenever the opportunity came as carian slicer hitting for nearly 700 dmg (over this depending on buffs) can carry an unfavorable match up. This is assuming you didn't already know all of this however. If you would like a super in depth dual wield staff guide (or any guide for that matter) you should check out Chrightt's channel, its sweaty though, but if you ever wanna take your game to the next level he's definitely the guy, lots of pretty numbers.
Appreciate the comment man a lot of good info thanks man! I did use dual staffs for my thorn sorcery build and it worked a treat haha, but with this build I’m personally not a fan of the lusat’s and Azur’s staffs fp consumption and the spells I was using only the Carian glintblade staff would have helped out my phalanx so should have used that in the off hand definitely! Thank you mate appreciate this big time!
Thank you man for the comment! And yeah I didn’t get to use it much here but when I come back to this build I’m using it more or I’ll just put it on a new build!
Cool mage build seeing those spells would make me smile if we fought. I may have to pull out the ol staff of the guilty and have a rare magic spell off lol pretty decent damage actually.
The new spellbound game looking good 😃. Have you tried equipping Azurs staff in left-hand for faster casting? with that, you can either equip another talisman like crimson +2 with 53 vigor or something else entirely so you can save a slot.
Thank you mate appreciate the comment! Yeah saw the rumours on spellbound getting those vibes haha yeah I thought about the Azurs staff but the extra fp consumption scares me off it haha but might be better!
To be fair I’ve never tested that actually haha you might be right in that case using that staff in off hand would be so much better appreciate that comment!
Can confirm that using it in the offhand and not as the catalyst for the cast does still increase the FP cost, unfortunately. Ditto for Lusat's Staff. And if you ever want to see how much FP you can blow with one cast, try casting Comet or Cannon of Haima with both Lusat & Azur equipped. It will be the fastest cast, hardest hitting, most expensive "fuck you" sent downrange in your life. xD@@Lancestar-Knight
