tbh it's not meta, trash players spam the art hoping it catches someone but in reality it's so damn easy to avoid and there's tons of better options for bleed.
@@metasaurus3233 and tbh rivers is meta, especially in a gank squad. Not as horrible by itself cause there are hard counters like glintstone pebble. In a gank, rivers can do almost insta bleed which stuns into teammates attacks so I’d def consider it meta in that regard.
The first weapon review of Elden Ring , it's gonna be a long ride. You should probably start numbering them so you don't forget how many there are some time down the line lool I also am kind of interested in seeing how many weapons are in the game too
Neat thing I found. If you're dual wielding the same weapons there's no animation for switching the weapons in menu. Basically you can switch weapon arts without people knowing which blade you're using. For instance I use two cleanrot blood swords, but they have different weapon arts. Since it's the same weapon you can't tell which one I'm using so you never know which weapon art I'll be using. I don't know if this has already been discovered, but it is worth covering.

It's not a glitch. Rivers and Polearm do not scale and have fixed damage. They do scale with Arcane for blood build up. But 20 Arcane is too low. You need 40 minimum. Weapons that have passive bleed but no Arcane scaling have a fixed bleed value, where as weapons that have Arcane scaling, no matter the letter gain bleed build up from the stat. Reduvia for example also gains damage boost from Arcane. Rivers and Polearm are OP even with fixed scaling with proper talismans.
I just want to say to whoever says the scaling isn't bugged; From Software is very clear in their language when weapons aren't meant to scale - If it cannot scale it has zero scaling letters. I cannot see any reason why they would change it specifically for a series of arcane weapons in a game that has literally zero weapons with literally no scaling letters.
For me it says it scales in strength E dex C and arcane D at plus 9. So part of me thinks it may be a bug that it is not scaring but considering how op it has been for me I’m thinking it might be intentional. I do think the bleed buildup is the only thing that is scaling with it. I just reset my build to only meet the bare requirements and it has less build up with the 20 in arcane. So I believe that is working correctly
One of the main reasons I started Elden ring was because I watch a lot of your vids. Got hooked when I got baited by your waifu thumbnails years ago even though I've never played any souls game aside from Sekiro (if that even counts) and Code Vein. Now all I want in my gameplay is to get invaded by you but I'm still around 40 and I don't want to speed through and ruin my own gameplay. I hope you're still playing ER for years to come.

“Why does every wizard have that gravity magic?” I think i can answer that question…. The meteor staff is easy to get has low stats to use doesn’t require being upgraded and it buffs gravity magic also the 3 rocks magic has fairly good tragic and fp cost
You should've maybe tried to powerstance with another, potentially more directly damaging Katana! I think you get special running attacks and such too.
The wakizashi is the paired weapon for it, it's a dagger. It's the only dagger that powerstances with a different weapon type, though any katana will allow the dual weapon art. It also does bleed, and is compatible with ashes of war
Can’t wait for you to fight an Erdtree Greatshield spammer. There is a bug that turns it into a lightning machine gun! Definitely gonna want to see how you react to that broken mess 😂
I honestly think youd like the Nagakiba better for your style ive been running it with a little of the quick buffs and add the war art double slash. you got your current blade
seems like a lot of those kids' game plan is u be up front with a shield to block his attacks and ill be at back just spamming spells it'll be so good we'll just farm them man
Plz check out powerstanced halberds. I'm running ×2 golden halberds. The pokes take over half their hp. The running sweep just takes everybody. And the bread and butter is the jump attack. 1 shots everything. Well over 1000 damage. It's kinda broken. I'm not that good at invasions but nonetheless. NO ONE CAN TOUCH ME.
I dont have the money to get the game yet but it looks so awesome and I can't wait to play it. Also how is backstabs for pvp, in the video it looks similar to ds3 but nerfed a little. Edit: I noticed that most people aren't going for backstabs which imo makes the pvp more fun.
Turns out my Xbox hasn’t updated for some reason and I’m on the version before the day 1 patch. I guess the patch when they swapped it to Arcane broke the scaling?
I'm on ps4 and have the same problem except I'm fully updated Eleonoras pole blade is also doing doing that too. Faith instead of arcane. Has anyone else had this problem???
I think you can upgrade your weapons further in elden ring, since max is +25 (and just based on when you get upgrade materials compared to lvl). Instead of e.g lvl 60 + 6 you can do lvl 60 +12 or so
I am at the end of the game at level 50. I needed to do so to gain all the estus and talisman slots. I tend to beat souls games at low levels to be able to make whatever level pvp build i want later
If it doesn’t scale would it be worth it to respec into vigor endurance and mind so you can just spam the art of war and basically never die? Has anyone tried a build like this?
Where the hell is this weapon? Using Kidira or whatever it is called...blood dagger +4, Horn Bow +2, Meteorite Staff, and an +4 Estoc. Started as prisoner. Just found Sellena and was way OP for Pumkin dude. Half way through Stormveil Castle. That fucking troll thing by the open courtyard keeps fucking me up. I went to far away places and got stuff I should not have yet...but rot dog will not effect the troll. Level 45 now...gonna see how we fair in the morning.
This is a really cool weapon, the WA reminds me of Lady Maria's katana attacks from BB - I think I might respec my current character just to use this! if they fix this scaling bug (if it even is a bug) then this weapon would be much stronger :D
@@alessandrv It is a bug. It doesnt even have scaling for its dex either, this bug only effects some arcane weapons, rivers of blood is unfortunately one of them, making it useless later in the game in both PvE and PvP. I'm using an arcane weapon called the Bloody Helice and it's scaling isn't bugged. Edit: This is why you see his basic attack damage being so low in the invasion showcase.
@@alessandrv Another way to know its a bug is that it doesnt get any negative damage if you dont meet the stat requirements. This means you can use these weapons without investing any stats into str dex or arcane at all and still get the full damage.
@@notan3144 The bug seems to affect all weapons that naturally scale with arcane and/or scale with arcane and have a separate damage type. Weapons infused to scale with arcane are not affected by this bug. The only exception to this is Reduvia, which has natural arcane scaling and bleed, but scales fine.
@@ahmadyulinu im not sure what parts of which weapon skills properly scale from the glitch, but from testing, even taking bleed procs out of consideration, there are instances during the glitched weapons' skills that actually scale properly. Its not every hit of the weapon skills on some weapons, but there are certain attacks within a skill that do work. It's really weird.
@@ahmadyulinu it's glitched where normal weapon attacks aren't scaled, the weapon art is scaled with arcane. Weapon arts don't scale with stats that don't matter with it. For example the moon veil katana, if i high dex but low int, I'll have strong normal attacks but the weapon art only scales with INT not Dex so it won't be as strong
This is the perfect weapon if you think Elden Ring needs an easy mode. I wouldnt recommend getting this weapon, as it has a passive effect: it extends the duration of youre virginity by 1 day when wielded. It has S scaling in Cringe, same as moonveil, so its really only for full cringe builds.
Heads up for anyone doing Varré's questline. Performing the ritual for the finger item turns your character's eyes blood-red. You can disable this in the customize screen under eyes, but it will forever overwrite any other eye changes like the one from dragon communion church. Get the invasion finger at volcano manor if you don't wanna have red eyes.
Personally i wanted to thank ChaseTheBestInvader for showcasing pvp in mid-game stage for those who doesn't have enough time to make sl150 characters right away and who wants to pvp asap. Best content as alaways and looking forward to see other weapons! (actually whould really like to see moonveil, just got it recently and this thing shreds bosses)
Moonveil is litteraly the most popular weapon on the game I'd rather him play with the laser shield than the weapon every other pvp season I invade has
@@DizzyTrendermen I know. I'm just heavily spec'd into faith and int. So I can get as much damage out of the death spells as possible. I'm at 160 in anticipation of the new meta level.
The wizards all have that rock sling gravity magic because the spell and a staff that starts with S int scaling and boosts gravity magic are relatively easily available early game in the caelid region via the teleport in the dragon ruins and a bit of running.
Good stuff! Nice to see you're back to making weapon reviews! Got some thoughts though, I think it made more sense to have you go over the moveset before the invasions so that we understand what's going on watching you go to town on people. Also would be nice to see you go through more of your gear before invasions so we know what bonuses you have. Finally, as the game is still new you might want to consider adding some information on where some of the items are found (if you remember) though that would be best to save for the end of the video along with a spoiler warning.
I use it with a faith build since the scaling is currently broken, it’s pretty fun to use and def my favorite weapon in the game. Probably gonna respec into a mainly dex build with enough arcane to use the RoB katana
Pvp is ass wtf are you talking about? All people do is spam spells in a gank and abuse how strong bleed is right now. As well as use the broken blood slash and that magic katana slash attack
Been trying to get this to cheese the fuck out of Melania, but some bug happened and the npc invader won’t invade me when I’m at the church he’s supposed to spawn. Sad
Got a +9 one of these atm, its been put in my off hand cause my Uchi does more damage. Can not stress enough that until they fix this, the lack of scaling cripples it. Note: the Uchi is +16, will be upgrading it asap.
Rivers of blood really needs to be looked at. It's beyond unbalanced and too strong. Then again pvp is unbalanced itself, status effects are ruling the meta
5:50 Mages use Rock Throw because it breaks stance on bosses and big enemies. Great spell. Would never use in PvP though, it's easily dodged and I don't see it hitting players often.
Tried to make a life steal build with this but it ended up being very difficult. This is simply because even at level 120 the sword only does 300ish damage at +8. Hoping they fix soon.
