Taking the Rivers Of Blood into duels and invasions to test its combat capability 🎮 TWITCH ➔ / chasethebroyt 📱 DISCORD ➔ / discord 🐦 TWITTER ➔ / chasethebr0 📸 INSTAGRAM➔ / chasethebro
The weapon itself is very overused, but it was refreshing to see a player not just spamming ash of war. Also, it is very rare to see a skilled Souls veteran player not being elitist about the game and not discriminate weapons. Overall, this youtuber just constantly emits positive energy to the community. I really appreciate that.
yeah u got a point on that one tho.. i have 0 problem to get invaded or duel against ROB but surely the range is > 70% people in pvp. its a typical easy to learn, hard to master weapon no matter you invade or get invaded by.
Did anyone else notice the change in background theme for the thumbnail. Most of chase's videos so far as come with a calm and sanguine appearing background. Usually of one of Elden rings beautiful skies. But in this video the background is a flat black with painted on blood. This feels like a statement if anything.
I find myself using the regular weapons more than the somber ones, being able to switch up ashes of war or have duplicates with different skills to switch to is a good way to mix it up
I can't believe a player as good as Chase doesn't know the crouch spam technique. It's actually super important for making sure your opponent has been properly killed.
Rivers of blood can become so absurd when you start stacking buffs. I mean you can stack fire/dex boost physik, flame grant me strength, Alexander's shard, blood exultation, white mask, fire scorpion charm... You get the idea it's crazy lol
I once played a "balanced rivers of blood" build where I would drain all my fp before the fight so that the sword did what was basically just a double slash. it was still a really effective and fun weapon but way more balanced.
Arcane scales stronger even though it has a worse letter because it is the only of the three stats to scale the fire damage portion. This makes it one of the rare (only?) weapons that doesn't have fire tied to Strength or Faith.
I've been using glintstone pebble on the thrusting swords and it be cool to see how you handle using that. My build has a staff in the other hand so I can use magic glintblade while moving in
1. Make the blood extension deal no damage nor stagger(only bleed buildup) 2. Penalty for spamming, add a refractory period where they are stuck in an animation or something Now it’s almost fair
I think this helps emphasize that 150+ should be the duel meta instead of 125. The damage rates are too high; need more levels to boost survivability. Most fights end within 10-15 seconds.
I like to use the rotten winged sword insignia in place of the crimson talisman. This weapon is burst damage personified, and you only need two hits of the weapon art to proc the talisman effect. It’s fun to one shot literally any player you hit with it.
Saw a lot of comments except how to do exactly the inputs needed for Corpse Piler to be executed on combo, on PS5 pressed and hold L2 and R1 to make the 2 "X “ slashes only.
"Finally after months of doing pvp, I found chase, cant wait to see what unique and unheard of weapon he will be using. Wait what is that? No no no no no no!"
I really want to sit down with the developers and ask them why this weapon is in the game in the way that it is. If you are even half as good as Chase in spacing, timing and understanding of latency, you're just a monster with this weapon.
Wouldve loved if the whole video was just you using the katana moveset without ever mentioning or using the AoW Wouldve been funny and understandable cause by now everyone and their grandmas know what this weapon does
Not too long ago I checked out your Moonveil vid, and I thought 'if this was how apologetic you felt using that thing, imagine how you will sound when you use RoB'. And right in the beginning with your first match after you deleted your opponent in a blink, you sounded like you committed the most unforgiving sin. 🤣
That blue has to be the most underhanded one I've ever seen. In a game where you can't get invaded unless you summon, making blues summons again instead of invaders was a mistake.
For those who are interested in why Arcane scales so much better then Dex: Arcane Scales with both Physical and Fire in contrast to Dex only scaling with Physical.
They could keep the damage but either lower the range or lower the poise damage and I feel this weapons ash of war would be way less hated/loved. Hated by those that face it. Loved by those that use is on a regular basis.
Hey chase give us some godskin peeler action! Like no power stance no bleed, I find the moveset actually crazy good, my advise is to play it in a build with multi hit heal, that doesnt get much love here on yt. Btw love you tnx for the content (even this braindead katana)
While you're doing stat procs, you should do Venomous Fang. Claw weapon that procs toxic (heavy poison) but you can still put any AoW on it. Could be interesting.
Anybody wonder why this weapon, which is just a gift from Mohg, has such a bad ass name while the weapon that the lord of blood himself wields is just called Mohgwyn spear or something?
That's kind of my problem with bleed builds altogether. I like the aesthetic of bleed weapons and spells but i don't want to use them on a first playthrough because they might make the game easier.
Do daggers next. I like Misericorde and Black Knife on a Dex/Faith build in PvE… but I think it will be really hard to make a daggers build work in PvP… prove me wrong! 😉
the weapon is fine for pve, for pvp is kinda dumb just like bhs, fine for pve, anoing for pvp in pvp arena dlc, I hope to have separate balances, I don't want nerf for pve but for pvp it's absuvely annoying
@@lucasnlima being entirely serious, the main issue with it in pvp is the AoW spam, they should decrease the damage, increase the fp cost, or both, but just enough so that it's still viable
@@zangor150 Increasing fp won't do much and it's power comes from bleed. Personally I'd nerf bleeds percentage across everything. PVE and PVP. Both sides have to admit it's bs that a person/ enemy you must learn to best or have experienced before being killed in 1 second doesn't teach you anything and is just cheap. For rivers specifically I would make it drain a percentage of health per ash of war. In game it may be a upgraded double slash but in reality it's a upgraded bloody slash and it should punish you just like it. Why percentage and health? Other then the obvious better bloody slash, fp is easier to recover without a con because there's work arounds. Fp bares can become ridiculous (We all have fought atleast one 99 mind bloodhound step user) and nearly full in one swing of blue juice or a shard for temporary repeated use. Health puts a risk and we all seen bloody slash users down themselves because they lack attention to detail. As for the Health damage percentage I'm not sure. I think the ash should start at 10% Health drain. As for the bleed nerf I have no idea what percentage if even a percentage would be good.
@@ChangedCauseYT-HateFoxNames This change makes zero sense for PVE. The idea of the over the top AOWs in the game is to feed a sort of power fantasy. Your change katers more towards lowering the power for PVP while, from my POV, ruining it for PVE. This type of change would never pass as Elden Ring is PVE first and PVP second
@@lucasnlima I think this is not possible. PVP does not have its own dedicated server, thus, separate changes are not possible. If I am correct, I am no tech expert this is opinion and speculation, than changes need to be for the full game. This is the issue the PVP community faces because Elden Ring is PVE first and PVP second. So changes have to take into account the PVE audience.
What actually bugs me the most about this weapon is that it feels like they got their names mixed up. "Corpse Piler" is a much better name for a sword, and "Rivers of Blood" is such a succinct description of its Ash of War specifically.
yeah for the longest time when people were talking about the weapon I thought they were talking about the ash of war, when I finally got the weapon I was like, "Oh thats the actual name..."
Because people weren't saying "corpse Piler", the thing I did when I used it was I put on a bleed Nagakiba with it, and Bloodhound Step, for defeating Malenia. I didn't know they were talking about Corpse Piler.
This would make sense as a joke if sorcery spamming (and moonveil) wasn’t held in similar regard by the community. Replace sorcery with dex, incantations, strength or some weapon class, and you have yourself a functioning instance of this joke template
@@TimothyGod I mean An year later even ruduvia is really good now They buffed it long ago So ye it’d be extra broken But what isn’t in elden ring these days
Yea. Same for arcane in general. So many people don’t understand how good it is when you put in the proper stats. Everyone and their overpowered weathered straight sword and rickety shield builds.
What irony that not only did the invasions end up being much more honest, but the dramatic twist of not wanting to kill someone while using this ridiculous weapon.
