@@e1eventy7t I don't think he's getting "nerfed." Base game Radahn was nerfed cuz his scaling was too high for the area he's in. If he does get a nerf, it's his 3 hit combo in phase 1 and maybe some visibility issues in phase 2. That's all that's getting changed if it does.
@ant3910 eh, that's wouldn't really work. Miquella isn't really the physical type, more like the sorcerer/charismatic type. Okay, making a Code Geass anime comparison, but Radahn is Kallen or Suzaku, and Miquella is Zero.
@@colvamoon6962 well we fought Rennala and Gideon, but yeah I forgot Miquella doesn’t have physical body my bad😂. Although my point is having Radahn piggyback him screwed up the lore, because not only this is the first time From Software displayed us the prime boss while back then just a shell of themselves, but also somewhat ruined Radahn’s image to me now he’s seen as a femboy’s basement victim
@@Kain_Highwind_ if you did the sidequests correctly, you can have up to 2 NPC summons, plus your spirit ash of choice. The other half of your statement remains the same, that is still barely enough
@@SonicEdge7 No, man, I mean, Starscourge Radahn allowed you to summon something like 4-5 characters, and they don't alter his HP at all. If you do that against DLC Radahn, he's gonna have a buttload more HP, it's not worth the risk.
Hold on. So Mohg was literally manipulated by Miquella, died because of it, then had his corpse flesh crafted into a Radahn puppet, because Radahn rejected Miquella‘s wish for Radahn to be his consort, as he was too loyal to the golden order, then had Malenia thrown at him to kill him so Miquella could force his soul to be his consort, failed to kill him but gave him a fate worse then death, and once the Tarnished finally freed Radahn from suffering, Miquella just steals his soul and stuffs it into aforementioned puppet body… really nice guy that Miquella Edit: Upon looking further into it, and looking at some other comments & comment sections, I’ve actually come across another crazy theory: Radahn’s reasoning for holding the stars as hostage, halting their movement, and stopping the flow of fate for all those of house Caria, might’ve been his way of fighting against becoming Miquella’s consort. Literally refused by stopping his own fate, how’s that for an awesome plot point.
@@Treebark508 in item description , it also talked about maleina whispers into his ear before she bloom saying :miquella awaits thee O promised consort You can see the wespiering in the first elden ring story trailer 2 years ago at 2:5O
We really do. He has always been my favorite, and now that I know he was not even acting of his own free will, I feel bad. Makes me wanna kill this bastard, but I feel bad about that too, because my second favorite is also being controlled. DAMN YOU, MIQUELLA!!!
@@Christmas_Johan yes and no, if you side with a dlc NPC named Ansbach, who tells you straight up he worked for Mogh, he discovers Miquella's manipulation of Mogh as well as the deprication of his body to by used as a vessel for Radahn's soul. I'm not saying Mogh is an innocent party here, as he was seeking to begin his own dynasty of blood, but interactions through our the dlc journey as well as revelations on the horror of Miquella's power shed light that Mogh was just a tool all along. Ansbach is right, Miquella is a monster.
This music and this battle… It’s the first time I’ve felt like I’m actually battling a god. Not a washed up cinder of a god like Gwyn or a demigod just beginning to touch apotheosis like Malenia… A bonafide being of absolute divinity and tyranny.
same, hearing 1:09 part always made feel like that. I'm probably one of the few who was happy that this boss was one of the hardest bosses in the soulsborn games lineup.
All of us always argue about strength, skill, power, technique and we argue about who is the strongest the most powerful but Miquella's power goes beyond all that, he surpasses the physical and even the magical because he does not need to be more powerful to defeat you an that is an extremely broken and dangerous power... He will not need to be stronger to defeat you, because you will simply stop being an enemy, you will no longer want to fight, nor oppose, you will join him and you will love him, And while you look at his smile the luminous seed his power infects your soul and steals your heart, filling you with the sweet warmth of a false peace, a false love for him... It is simply terrifying.
In the words of Ansbach "He wields live to shrive clean the hearts of men... there is nothing more terrifying" It is one thing if you are genuinely good and pure and naturally draw others to your side, but if it is a power you can force over others now it just a disguise of evil
@@KuraSourTakanHour see there's the kicker: Micheala *actually* wants peace and choose Radahn to be his consort early on because of how kind young Radahn was. Everything became cruel and oppressive after he cast aside the one part of himself that *made* him worthy of divinity to begin with: his love and compassion. his ambition remained, but the driving force behind it was cast aside leaving naught but a hollow notion behind.
That moment when base game Radahn fight made us love the General but sad we would never fight him at his prime... Then DLC hits and it's like heard ya liked Radahn so here he is with feet, minus the horse but plus a holy magic spamming parasite.
@@amysteriousviewer3772 i also got annihilated the first time i faced 2nd phase, but i was so shocked of how wonderful it was that i didn't even get tilted to retry
Radahn said no? So miquella got mad and threw malenia at him like a dog? And then when she rage quit with a nuke, he left them both to rot. I see. Love indeed. “If you grieve for this world, yield the path forward to us.” What if I don’t grieve? What if I trust the natural order and accept the consequences of my lowly origins? Cuz yk. A crown is warranted with strength. And miquella couldn’t handle rejection. Like a fucking child. Ain’t that somethin.
Miquella eternally blinded to his own ignorance like how he is eternally youthful. Made me so angry knowing how he abandoned everyone just to have a gay incestual relationship in return of starting a new order
The fucking cocoon clearly didn't do shit for him. Grown up though that shriveled husk in Mogh's palace may be, the soul is still childlike in nature, and an absolute piece of shit child at that
I entered the arena and saw Radahn… then all the lore instantly flooded my brain. I remembered all the stuff talking about how Radahn was the strongest of the Demigods and how he fought wars. Now that he was in his prime I knew just how horribly I was about to get my ass kicked.
@@tersus4967 Just as we’d never seen Prime Radahn, we have not and will never see Prime Morgott. Technically that image is concept art that should be taken with a grain of salt anyways, but the fact still stands. If Radahn was defeated once by Morgott, it makes him no less threatening.
Imagine if the NPCs from the lands between come to support you in phase 2 if you became a lord in main story Age of fracture: Nepheli shows up and goes: "I am Nepheli Loux, warrior! May the storm becomes our lord's wings!" Age of duskborn: you hear Fia's whisper: "We are those who live in death, we shall make the path of victory for our lord." And she summons Rogier and Lionel to help you Age of order: The Goldmask shows up and T poses fabulously, support you with golden order incantations Blessing of despair: Dungeater appears and says: "You are me, and I, the dungeater. We shall defile every life with care. A blessing upon you all!" Age of stars: Ranni: "My fair/dearest consort's journey does not end in here, feel the power of Ranni the witch." and uses Carian magic to support you. Lord of Frenzy: Shabriri shows up and says: "Allow me, Shabriri. To assist you, righteous lord of frenzy. Burn all things that divide and distinguish, MAY CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD…!" Then he calls Vyke's spirit to help and starts firing frenzy flame. The last Radhan festival begins.
This is beautifully creative and should be an option in this DLC. Though I wonder if there would be any extra dialogue for Ranni since Radahn is her brother, I wonder what kinds of things she would say.
@@langfordentertainmentstudi6745 "the defilement of mine brother shall not be tolerated. Upon my name as Ranni The Witch, I will free my brother from this torment. let my name invoke fear into ye."
4:30 - 5:25 are my favorite parts, I remember hearing it first in one of the trailers and instantly fell in love with it and also 5:48 sounds really good too
Tbh the best part of the ost is just Radahn’s first phase. Second phase ost is the same blend as the Elden beast, the spirit, and Godfrey. Miquella turned out to be mid-af.
At the beginning of the dlc, you fight a black armored swordswoman with a greatsword (Guts). At the end you fight a pretty boy with a God Complex (Griffith) and his legendary warrior with two horns adorning his head (Zodd).
Yup, Zodd with the appearance of Grunbeld. It is one of my favorite things about the souls games that it keeps a good portion of the essence of the Berserk series alive.
I don’t understand why people hate Radahn being the final boss. The lore set him up as the strongest, which he was in his prime, and that Miquella wanted him as his consort to rule the world. Plus some players wondered how strong Radahn would be in his prime before the rot drove him mad. Now we get that answer and a cool fight, but people whined. I don’t get it
@@warrior1034 it's in the intro monologue where you see Morgott literally beating Radahn on a scene, pushing him away from the Capital during the Shattering
@@gabegabe865 that’s very true, but it’s just one slide where Morgott had an upper hand. He definitely defeated Radahn’s forces, but one slide with an upper hand doesn’t mean conclusively that he won the 1 on 1. Plus, this is a much younger and less experienced Radahn at this point in the lore, so even assuming Morgott won this one, I find it hard to believe Morgott would stand a chance against a fully realized Radahn
Phase 1 truly sounds like a clash of titans, General Radahn the red lion and scourge of the stars, strongest of the demigods against the tarnished that would see themselves a lord
Hardest boss in souls history, at first i found him unfair and frustrating but after some tries i loved the feeling of Power and strength he emanates, makes you feel hopeless, the power of a true lord and final boss
This boss genuinely makes you feel hopeless, and the ost makes it feel like you are fighting an angel, despite the fact that miquella is lowkey a monster. It really makes you feel like your being outclassed in every way.
@@norstrader AKA Tailew the Golem Smith. It's the tankiest summon in the game, it helped me against almost every DLC boss, including Radahn! The meteor rain is its weak spot, tho, and if you don't have any healing incantation, the golem is done for.
3:44 i absoluteley love that part, its simmilar to the elden beast ost. from loud and epic, the same at the fight itself, it becomes a spiritual battle.
This got spoiled for me. Thing is, I wasn’t even mad because of how cool the concept itself is. I didn’t see anything of the cutscenes or the fight itself but just a thumbnail. So it honestly created this drive in me to keep pushing, so I can finally see what he’s REALLY got.
This was my reaction when I first reached this boss:"ok here is the final bo.........wait,that melody was familiar............................no way!!..........no waaaaaaaay!!This is gonna be the best bossfight of history!there will never be a better one!" Yeah, bro just turned into The Best Boss of All History!
@@Askhaaar_54Then Miyazaki has very bad taste and may have been crafting great bosses like Ludwig, maria or gael out of pure luck, weird but may be true.
@@LewisRockleaf well I've got news for you,He is the only one that his opinion is important, and if someone like me or you thinks otherwise,no one gives a fuck.bc the person who makes something knows it better than everyone else, and if you think his opinion is trash, well,if you can do it better, then do it! And besides, you only compare soulsborne bosses,to other souls borne bosses, but out side of that territory there are bosses that someone like Maria looks like a joke compared to them.a great example is senator Armstrong from MGR.
I always thought this would be a good idea for the dlc. In the base game lore wize we fight a weakened radan so getting a max powered version here is really good.
Can’t wait to see this duo go from the breaker of noobs to the one being styled on. My tips are that you have to man up and roll inside/to his sides to avoid the light beams, as well as being extra careful of the ones that POINT FORWARD! Also YOU CAN PARRY HIM! I leave my summon sign to help my fellows! I’ve already been successful a couple times. I just ask my good people to heal because they are always eating the beam attacks and meteor while I’m doing the fighting!
The biggest thing that helped me during the fight was that you have to play the first phase the exact same as the second and always dodge into his left as you said.
Lyrics at 4:30: (based on my hearing, i could be wrong) "atraver marika etrena troa avis ira" which translates to: "He blackened the eternal marika the wrath of the bird"
Man this fight is just permanent goosebumps, the music, the lore, the fight istelf, Miquella coming in the second phase. Hell maybe it is even better than the Gael fight from DS3.
Took me 7 hours to beat him with blood rapier and colossal shield, jesus my head hurts, great fight but I don't think i could do it with weapon like Greatsword
I took hours and hours with gilded shield and great spear lance. Couldnt stagger him. Maybe 2-3 times overall. Messmer was much easier. I staggered him with 2-3 hits of the piercing fang ash of war and regained health with tears talisman. With radahn I tried alot but eventually used mimic tear to beat radahn which was still hard tbh. I will attempt him again without the mimic tear now. Its better to understand whats the effective way to dodge his attacks well by studying his attack patterns. This will take time but its all fun and in the end when you have it down it sticks with you and the coming runs become much much easier.
People get so carried away with their headcanon. It is never stated that Radahn is under Miquellas control. To the contrary, Miquella talks about the pact they made, his name is literally Promised Consort, the only Redmane character in the DLC believes it is what he wanted.
@@pogd740 i could well be completely wrong but i truly and honestly believe it's a semi-retcon, because they realized how popular radahn was and just wanted to bring him back for the dlc lmao
It could be that Radahn loved war as everyone keeps saying he does, and perhaps the vow was that if he lost to Malenia he would be Miquella's Lord Consort. If you look at it that way it adds up. Mohg is still unfortunately completely exploited. But what is exploitation when you are convinced in your heart you are doing what you want?
The tonal progression is awesome. It starts as a chest-pounding anthem fit for a gladiator battle, drops to a melancholic interlude, then erupts into a heavenly choir. Awesome stuff.
This theme is the best In the entire game in my opinion, but Miyazaki literally just unleashed Prime Radahn on the player base as punishment for all there whining
I don’t think I could have asked for any more from a boss fight against Prime Radahn. An absolute badass who can kick your teeth in eight ways from Sunday empowered by Miquella’s light. Incredibly tough without feeling unfair, like a true battle between two champions and lords. Easily not only my favorite DLC boss but potentially my favorite boss in the series.
No he isn’t. Even this version of him isn't the strongest foe we've faced. There's many people that are beyond the levels of the demigods that we fought in game.
Miquella became completely disillusioned with his mother's Golden Order in all its forms and decided to create a new Order with his charming ability, creating an Age of Compassion where everyone is mind-controlled by him to get along. Miquella wanted Radahn to be his King Consort. Why is unclear as I don't recall any lore hinting at any sort of relationship between the two. But Radahn refused, possibly out of loyalty to the Golden Order. He was apparently immune to Miquella's Charm ability too. Miquella didn't like this rejection so he came up with another plan. Miquella successfully brainwashed Mohg to make him utterly devoted to him. He planned to use Mogh's body as a vessel for Radahn's soul. Transplanting a soul into a body that's already under the influence of Miquella's Charm helps bypass any immunity. He sent Malenia to kill Radahn but that didn't work out. Unclear if Mohg taking Miquella from the Haligtree was part of Miquella's plan or not. Regardless, the Tarnished ended up inadvertently helping Miquella by killing Radahn, freeing his soul, and killing Mohg, emptying his body to make it a ready vessel for Radahn's soul.
Can you explain better where is it stated that Radahn refused? I understand that it would be on character and a reasonable theory given his fight with Malenia but I thought he did all of this willingly? Since Freyja tells the player that she wanted to discover a pact made between Radahn and Miquella, I assumed Radahn was conscious of what was going to happen
@@MrEmpty-eq1se The more valid theory is that Radahn made a pact with Miquella agreeing to be his consort, but later came back on his word. It's unclear why, maybe realizing Miquella's age would be one of tyranny enforced by charm. Hence why he stopped the star to halt his destiny and promise as well, wich Malenia tried to force by killing him.
@@benjaminthibieroz4155 I just finished the DLC and found where it said that Radahn rejected him, I think there was no vow between them since what Miquella wanted was an era of compassion (even by manipulation) is nor really something Radahn was keen to since at his core he was a warlord, Radahn has fought many battles and took inspiration on Godfrey, another warlord so the ideologies between Radahn and Miquella could have clashed. Now about the vow, we are not entirely sure what was said or done but I think Miquella proposed this and just kept being delulu after Radahn rejected him, so he kept thinking about vows and honoring them and all that
THIS FIGHT WAS LITERALLY EVERYTHING I ASKED FOR 😭😭😭 Miyazaki!!! HOLLY GOD, MIYAZAKI, BLESS ALL YOUR TEAM FOR THAT FIGHT AND THAT SECOND PHASE MIQUELLA OST ❤
