4% drop rate for that shield and it only drops from 1 knight. But with gold scared on you get 7k a kill so at least your getting somthing while waiting for it to drop.

Easy way to beat that Furnace Golem if you have the Faith for it: spam Ancient Dragons' Lightning Strike, even when its stance is broken. If you have Mimic Bro as your summon then make sure you only have Golden Vow and Ancient Dragons' Lightning Strike memorized, no weapons equipped other than the Gravel Stone Seal, even better if you have one in each hand. You should also put Lightning -Shrouding Cracked Tear in your Flask of Wondrous Physick and equip the Lightning Scorpion Charm talisman, Faithful's Canvas Talisman, and Flock's Canvas Talisman to further boost the damage of the incantation. Use whatever you want for the other Tear in your Physick and the remaining Talisman slot. Easy way to beat the Blackgaol Knight: equip the Sacred Relic Sword and spam its Ash of War, Wave of Gold. Enhance the attack power of Wave of Gold with Golden Vow, Holy-Shrouding Cracked Tear in your Physick, Sacred Scorpion Charm talisman, Shard of Alexander talisman, and the Ritual Sword talisman. I like to use either the Carian Filigreed Crest or the Green Turtle Talisman for the fourth talisman slot. Start spamming Wave of Gold as soon as you pass through the fog and the Knight won't even be able to shoot you with his fiery bolts. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Best way to deal with furnace golems is the incantation pest threads on a faith build. Lock on to the legs and cast from torrent. Almost instant stagger. Best way to deal with the blackgaol knight is giants hunt ash of war. You’ll stunlock all npc bosses with that ash honestly.

Mate you are the BOMB. I did the Furnace Golem with a one shot after following this strat, with only 31 Faith. But I was using the Flock's Canvas Talisman instead, with Shard of Alexander, Lightning Scorpions Charm and the Flamedrake Talisman +2. TY for this strat.

Tip: for the flame giant guy, when you see it is going to double stomp, back up quickly and then jump, you can jump without torrent but you need to back up since it does some kind of explosion. Also, when he’s knocked down, you can give it a high amount of hits and then the critical before it gets up again.

For blackgaol knight tips for str user you can use greatsword with giant hunt ash of war and then spam him with it he wont get to do anything and he will only attack if you stop to use flask to replenish FP

"Scadu" means shadow in Old English, but it's pronounced the same as our modern "shadow". They're called shadowtree fragments. But I think I prefer ski-doo tree lol

Same with the trees in the base game! Haligtree means Holy Tree, and Erdtree is roughly "home tree," although Erd can be interpreted to mean "home, country, or nature." So kind of the "Origin tree."

For the Furnace Golem - Flamedrake Talisman+2 (20%⬇Fire Damage) + Lance Talisman (15%⬆Damage on Horseback) + Dagger Talisman (17%⬆in Critical Damage) allowed me to beat him quickly in just 2 attempts & I'm far from "git gud" status after a 2 year hiatus 😱. I was running a melee mage build with Adula's moonblade. Just gulped wondrous physic with magic shrouding hopped on a horse and spammed it. Had a Magic misericorde on the side. The Adula's moonblade practically stun locks him, and once staggered just used misericorde. Tiche lowers its max HP so you can use tiche too.

After 6 attempts I switched to poison Great Stars with the Flamedrake talisman+ I used Ancient Red Lighting between his legs and Pest threads. I used Mimic cause he loves using incantations, too. I was thinking of the demi boss and got mixed up on the poison.

Tree sentinel armour set boosts fire negation, dagger talisman boosts criticals and lance talisman boosts horseback combat. All useful for the fire gollum.

For Blackgaol Knight, I just spammed the Blind Spot ash of war with blood backhand blades and he didn't even touch me. That move shreds pretty much any human proportioned enemy since it swiftly evades attacks, staggers reliably, and quickly builds up status effects all in one move. Plus, it's cheap to use and easy to get.

My Blackgaol Knight tips: I went old school straight with a great shield, bloodhounds fang, started with bloodflame blade, and took it to him. Attack first and aggressive, the back off and block with the shield. It's all about stamina. My physick = thorny cracked tear and greenburst crystal tear. Strengthens successive attacks and temporarily boosts stamina RECOVERY. Just watch that slashing thing he does. I suggest evading that (and the often follow-up). Otherwise, this setup worked for me and I'm no Cowboy 😂 Again, with this method, it's all about that stamina. Good luck!

for anyone in ng+, use sacred relic sword for the dragon. I also found a cheese spot on a cliff to the left of the grace when walking towards the dragon, lure him into the face of the cliff and relic sword away, just back up for his flame attacks.

I wish I had thought of that instead of fromsoft dragon meets arrows and back up cheese on something like ng+5 (it's at least that because i did Mogh twice and one or two speedy get the ending runs, then had to do him the long way to dlc.) kinda regret not loading one of the only messing around in Liurnia playthroughs to go the quicker way on a lower playthrough now.

If you have raytracing on then I would suggest turning it off. That corrected the vast majority of hitches and stutters for me. It would be nice to use RT since I have a PC that can run it well. But I'd much rather have stable frametimes. HTH. ✌ Thanks so much for all the helpful walkthroughs over the years. Your time and effort on these in particular is quite impressive. I'm sure having to redo videos is no fun but I, for one, sincerely appreciate it. 🥰

Cowboy, re: your frame stutter issue-I'd also make sure you don't have Chrome open. For some reason on my realitively high end computer, I've noticed even 3 or 4 Chrome tabs on the second screen cause Elden Ring to stutter randomly like you're seeing. Doesn't happen with other games.

note about the ghost flame dragon is that, this sacred blade is not optimal at all. yet he was able to do that much damage a normal sacred infused weapon with 80 faith could do much more damage than that also using barrier of gold is helpful too

Giant hunt ash of war literally carried me through dlc. Anything remotely similar to me in size throughout dlc has been obliterated by it. Works really well on that Gail knight. Thank you cownoy for the epic walk throughs yet again

If you're a spear user like me... Just use the Thrust ashes of war. you do three quick consecutive hits. you can effectively stunlock invading NPC's and the Knights.

I fought the blackgaol knight within the first five minutes of starting the DLC, shortly after fighting beast claw dude. It took me 3 tries but the point is I wouldn’t have expected that to be in the second episode. So with the lore about the living saints and the pots… Does that mean the pot dude was punished like that? Does that mean the little ones are punished children? Maybe I missed the lore on these guys earlier and/or from the dark souls series but this is the first I remember hearing about this and it has very dark implications

It's different from the pots of the base game. Marika's people, the Shamans are incased on that pots as some sort of torture by the hornsents. The Pots on the Land Between on the other hands are just scavengers of dead warriors that collects body and dump it unto the Erdtree roots.

For the Furnace Golem, at lvl 200, I used the Dark Moon Greatsword with 80 Int to get quick staggers. Works really well.

My advice on the 'pot-guts enemies' is using a max upgraded blunt hammer like weapon. Usually takes me 2-3 hits to take care of em with a +24/25 brick hammer. Especially imbued with 'chilling mist' ash of war you can take em down with 1-2 hits.

On the blackgaol knight actually letting him use the crossbow is not bad. Sprint straight left or right of the attack and it’s easily dodged and you can punish him hard after his attack ends

My strategy for the Blackgaol Knight was pretty simple. I ran in with my pure STR Greatsword build and introduced the guy to the Shadow Lands' Space Program with Giant Hunt. Poor dude didn't get to attack once.

The easiest way to nuke the furnace golems on a faith build is with fully charged ancient dragon's lightning strike with the gravel stone seal and godfrey's icon. One cast will usually stagger them. Do it three or four times and then hit them with a crit when they fall down. It almost feels like a cheese because it's too easy.

Definitely explore the first parts of map. I'm at 6 and spirit at 5 before even fighting the first boss. The weapons you find are on as well. Also the jar carrier to the east of grace by ruins on road respawns and drops another fragment. Not sure if he only one, so far he is. I'm loving the ash of war that acts like the red tearstone

I came across Blackgoal knight within the first 20-30 mins into the DLC, and I kept running out of stamina when fighting him, I was not using the shield and thrust, I ran out just from attacking and dodging. That has never happened to me in the base game, and I just finished base game. Is there something going on with our stamina in the DLC? I think this has to do with what cowboy mentioned last episode where ur level and stats don’t really matter coming into the DLC. After seeing my stamina tank, I’m thinking that regardless of our level and stats, we are all starting at the same point/experience. Thank you Cowboy! You are a legend!

Love the channel, but wish you would briefly talk about the items you are using, such as that shield against the knight with the counter attack. Anyhow, I got sick of fighting the Knight after a couple of hours, so I just spammed Wave of Gold - he couldn’t do a thing - he will very occasionally roll through it, but was no challenge after I decided to Cheez it

Not sure if it’s helpful, but for the Blackgoal knight, you can outrun his cross bow bullets. Once he gets his bow out, you need to start running counterclockwise around him, and then you can get a nice opening to attack

Anyone who’s having trouble with the unarmored Furnace Golem should try Pest Threads or, if you have the faith, stand in between his legs and use Placidusax’s Ruin

Rivers of Blood worked really well against the Blackgaol knight. You can get in some really good damage if you wait for him to use his rappid fire move with the crossbow. Just dodge the arrows by running too the left, and get close to him. Once you're near him, hit him two or three times with either normal hits or heavy hits. Rivers of Blood even knocks him out of some of his moves. Just don't get too greedy with the hits, and you should be good.

I loved the Blackgaol Knight fight. I kept hearing he was so hard, but it must have been from people that have only played ER and struggle without summons. He reminded me of a decent DS2/DS3 fight. My only regret was that I killed him on my second attempt.

Usually the demihuman boss in Belurat Gaol hits you as soon as you enter through the fog wall. You have to stay on him hard don't give him space.

Leon’s armors is great for fire protection, just have a sword and light shield on Torrent for the big guy, with the Lance Talisman

Man having a build with spells and projectiles is such an advantage I’m realizing. Especially with FP regen. I’m running pure strength melee and it’s such a struggle compared to this.

After playing the base game of Elden Ring for 110+ hours for the first time over the past month and basically doing every possible thing the game has to offer including every boss and dungeon, nothing has enraged me more than the Belurat Gaol for some stupid reason. I literally broke part of my desk today after dying to fall damage several times in a row and losing a shit ton of runes. Sometimes the most random thing in these games can push me to my breaking point lol

In the Blackgaol Knight as it is in the others like that, you can spam the Sacred Relic Sword that they wont get a chance to attack you.

I killed him on Cowboys 1st video and didn't know he was weak to sacred blade. Someone should try buffing with last rites on the Golden Epitaph and then switching to there weapon with sacred blade to see if it doubles the dmg like it does on Death Birds.

For ghost dragon, you can cheese him from the cliffside where you find the painter that gives a shield. Just use a greatbow, he'll just walk around in circles. He may do breath attack, but it cant hit you.

On the Blackgaol Knight I used the Bolt of Gransax+10, 2H ate a broil/boil prawn and just kept using the skill it comes with because it knocks the knight/enemies on their butt and just keep firing and if he loads his cross bow roll fast to the left or right. Make sure to hard target him first so the weapon hits him. I'm horrible with a shield. The skill is Ancient Lightning Spear. He's weak against lightning, pierce and strike.

I just discovered Belurat Gaol from your Part 1 Walkthrough and at that point I already got the chonky rivers of blood with the Weed Cutter ash -- it just stun locked Yoda hahaha

After about 30 attempts, Fingerprint Shield and bash took out the Blackgaol Knight. Shield only try.

I tried using Adula's Moonblade while on Torrent and the Dark Moon Greatsword on the Furnace Golems and it surprisingly broke its feet faster. Weakness perhaps? Not sure if it's because of my stats coz it's the DLC after all. I previously used Hand of Malenia, Fallingstar Beast Jaw, and Mohg's nihil spear thingy haha

Black gaol knight is easy with ash of war “giants hunt or lunge I forgot the name but do that over and over , refill magic flask when down rinse and repeat and it’s over
