I’m sorry but carian sorveignity is by far the best ash of war in the game. Put it on a great sword that Atleast +18 you bs doing 6k dmg per ash if war while doing 91 stance damage + insane hyper armor
@@parkseybeams2297 if he put the actual name of the ashes of war instead of just numbered them, then we would have been able to skip the ones we already have and look at the ones we don’t. These time stamps make no sense because we have no idea what “ash of war 6” is so what are we skipping to?
Wing Stance has a fair bit more nuance than you're giving it. The light attack version will always proc 1 stack of winged sword buff, while the heavy attack deals 32 stance damsge VERY quickly at a surprising range. Even with Rellana talisman you can usually get the buff and land the r2 version on most bosses (certain ridiculously aggressive bosses not withstanding). The light attack is more for mobs while the heavy attack is better for bosses.
@@FelisImpurrator Yeah, I hope they'll fix it. I tested it and the deathpoker's ash of war at the verry least does 2x more damage then ghostflame call on a MiLady for example Despite if you do Magic or Frost to improve the Int scaling, the Scaling is C or B compared to Deathpoker's D in Int. Also for some reason, i just can't seem to inflict a Frostbite on a enemy with the ash of war. Enemies walk on the Line of ghostflame but doesn't seem to be inflicted with Frostbite even while it's 'Frost' attuned and has Frost Buildup, while i can inflict frostbite on the deathpoker's ash of war in like 2-3 hits with the AoW. I tested the Ghostflame Explosion of the deathpoker compared with the Explosion of the AoW, for my Build (both weapons on Max), the deathpoker explosion did 2084 damage, while the AoW did 734 for me. Yeah something doesn't seem to be scaling right at all
Savage lions slash is actually worse than the original. It’s slower and does less damage compared to just 2 of the original. Less poise damage too if I remember correctly. Just watch youwry’s videos for the comparisons.
Savage Lion Claw is arguably better when landing the full combo, it will poise break pretty much any boss in the game with two full combos. And as the other guy said it's pretty much meant to be used with freya's sword
6:42 I just watched another video, by you, where you said the thrust is better than the skewer… So which one is it? Because you did not amend either statement in either video…
They serve different purposes. The flame skewer offers more damage and stagger but is more one dimensional, while spear gives you more options in combat since you gain access to a reliable ranged attack. On a Faith setup the spear will do very good damage still, it's just a matter of trade offs; Skewer has better numbers while Spear gives you more flexibility. They are both good options.
Smithscript Dagger + Piercing Throw isn't actually too bad if you do a mage build, rn running a finger mage with 80 int and a magic infused smithscript dagger has 505 AR in normal and does pretty good damage, good for saving mana in open world and still decent against bosses when they run up on you
That Ash of war 10 is a direct copied from Sekiro. They could of made it useful by 3 hit combo on the enemy (even with a shield) it will break their stance like it does in Sekiro.
Today i saw several people with an ash of war on their cirque blades that was like a dash and then a mini Waterfowl Dance. Anyone have any clue what its called? I cant find anything about it and i thought I got all the new ashes of war
Hey, brother on blink bolt you were supposed to press R2 or heavy attack after you press L2 or your skill button. With the dual acts, it propels you even further and spins, while attacking into the enemy, and with the long ask, it propels you even further into an electric jump attack. It’s actually great. Just a heads up I think you missed that
Those are not the same Ashe of war. There’s an equip-able blink bolt (no follow up), there is then the blink bolt that comes with 2 weapons which is the dual axe and the axe you mentioned (has follow-up) They have different names. In this video it’s about the stand alone Ashe of war that can be equipped.
The backhandblade ashes are so stupid and overtuned pvp skills that i can't believe they made them when we have ashes like the "upgraded" lion's claw and aspect of the crucible wings being as lack luster as they are. I get it, they want us to use the backhand blades but why are those skills so brain dead that you can just play with your forehead like scott jund did in his example, i don't even like like Scott, please Miyazaki don't make me credit a bad content creator like Scott jund again.
Regular Lion's Claw is better than this upgraded one. It does a knockdown while savage doesn't, also the regular lion's claw does way more poise damage.
Wing stance and overhead stance is an outrage! You need to learn how to properly use the abilities before you post a video, ranking them in the worst places imaginable. These stances deserve a MUCH higher scaling, based on facts instead of your preference. Wing is phenomenal on weapons like milady, cleanrot sword and well any straight-like sword. The reach on the poke is good enough to hit enemies that are outside of traditional aggro range, and the swipes is three quick ones that can mess anybody stupid enough to get close. The overhead is best on katanas, great or not. If you played sekiro then it's just like ichimonji. Do i need to say more? No? Good
17:53 Spinning Gravity Thrust - Add Malenia's Great Rune then use Rune Arc to activate it and now when you get hit while you are in Ashe you replenish hp that you lose. You can even get Godskin Swaddling Cloth and it will heal you two times from Ashe hits, now you can add Bloodsucking Cracked Tear too, you won't outheal it fully, but you heal enough for it to not bother you as mutch.
My new favorite AOW is Flamespear. It is an S Tier imo. - the projectile has an amazing range. - the Messmer flame buff is stronger than a normal fire buff. - It is chargable. Talisman improves the dmg. The longer you hold the AOW button the better the damage and range. - fully charged attack in CQC has an enormous stagger potential. - the projectile penetrates through multiple enemies. - Lady Maria vibes. 😄
Shriek of Sorrow's buff applies the damage buff based on the hp you had when you cast it. This means you can heal yourself afterwards and keep the buff for its duration.
Yeah was gonna say your way off on this. I think when you swap the weapon it gets rip of the buff too. Basically pop it before you heal on bosses for a buncha free damage
@@IsraTheBlack I know :(. I think it’s a good options for an arcane build tho if you need physical damage. Strength builds too, the buff is pretty long lasting as well. Overall I think it’s a good ashe man, like easier to use crag blade mid fight without the extra poise damage.
Carian Sovereignty deserves S tier in my opinion. It does sick damage and huge poise damage. Also provides some hyper armor on top of that. What else do you wish for as a Carian Knight?
Also keep in mind that if you want that buff but dont wanna use freya sword, you can have it equipped on your back while two handing another weapon with Savage Lion claw on it and still gain the benefit
@@JamesLondon-c4p they're making YT to be so annoying to use nowadays. I use a vpn to block the ads but I have to do this ridiculous 'pause - play' thing at the start of every video. Plus for those guys who have those god awful 2 minute videos for 'Hero Wars' or some bs, I'm sure they must pay well but I'm not sitting through that. I'm just not gonna watch your vid lol
Spinning Gravity shredds 95% of every enemy / boss. It works like the "Marais Executioners Sword". But best parts are: you got hyper armor, you can cancel after the first L2 if you miss, and every status effect procs at least at the second L2 tap. If you have frost and bleed on your weapon (for example "Odachi"), the boss wont stand the third or fourth spin. Total S-Tier!
Dark Knight’s dual axe has its own version of blinkbolt with an optional follow up. Honestly it’s pretty good because the optional follow up has decent stagger and the blink bolt itself has frames where you don’t take damage like dodge and bloodhound step. Also if you use it correctly, you can blink bolt, back step(dodge) and get a crit off behind the back of the enemy
Blinkbolt on milady with a r2 follow up goes hard, as does putting it on backblades. This dude thinks that just because a skill doesn't do damage that it's trash but at close range the lightning does some pretty decent damage, not god-like but around a 100-200. And you get incredible s when using it, as I was able zap myself right through malenia's waterfowl unharmed (lock off and look away for first then go through on the second two)
@@Nicks3177 in pvp it's mid is what I mean, the follow up attack on it comes out too slow and always misses, the Iframes are good but the slow start up + slow recovery + slow follow up just means that there are better options, just an infinitely worse Bloodhound step
Also: Poison Flower absolutely deserves top tier placement... But you forgot to mention it can go on the Antspur Rapier, creating possibly the single most perfect synergy in the game. These things were basically made for each other. Antspur is the best rot weapon to begin with due to the good reach and fast multihit, it can take Poison or Blood infusions, and it now has the perfect solution to its lack of big single hit burst with a highly mobile nuke that can dodge attacks with the leap, WHILE being able to poke behind a shield? Incredible combo.
I dont know, blind spot for me is S tier. If you do it right you dodge almost anything instantly plus it staggers almost any strong enemy (except for bosses) and it keeps you in the flow so fckin well for some followups. Mobility is something I severely missed in Elden Ring (I miss bloodborne dodge) so I almost completely ran backhand blade for the whole dlc. The moveset is so damn smooth. Running light attack keeps you running aswell, and the running strong attack does 4 hits. There is so much variaty in these blades. Pair it with the fire giant tear to block and you got a rounded combat assassin build. But I digress, blindspot owns imo if you practice a little. Last thing, if you blind spot and hold right analog stick to the right and then slightly up it becomes a forward charge.
@@lewis6720 first fire giant boss you encounter in the dlc starting area gives a new flask tear on death. When blocking before taking damage, similar to parrying, you take no damage and minimal stamina damage allowing you to essentially perfect block or “parry” any attack in the game and neuter many boss combos.
@@regaliaex1338 thanks so much for this. My friend told me to fight that fire giant to get it. I did but I didn't understand exactly what the flask did!
carian sovereignity is arguably the best ash of war in the game, does a shit ton of damage, can be buffed very easily with all the talismans, and deals 91 poise damage. It can stancebreak a lot of bosses in ONE full combo
Yeeaah.. no. Nor the dryleaf arts nor the flame skewer. Dryleaf arts is only good if you build status on your weapon, otherwise its own damage is not that special. Not to mention it locks you into a rather long animation, without the damage negation increase of palm strike. Flame skewer is just shttier version of giant hunt. Less posture damage, and the fire buff lasts only 10 seconds unlike the flame spear. Meanwhile flame spear gives you a better fire buff, ranged option, chargable and does good posture dmg. My guy really fumbled
No I’m pretty sure the Ashe of war blink bolt that you can equips on weapons doesn’t have the follow up lighting attack. The Ashe of war that comes with Dark Knights’ weapons have the follow up attacks. Hence they actually have different names.
Bro blind spot is easy S tier. You can pretty much spam that one attack against the final dlc boss and deal damage while also avoiding his attacks. Hell you can use it as an opener on his attack he does the minute you enter the fog gate.
Seems like Shriek of Sorrow's damage buff lasts even after you heal. So you can activate the buff with low health, heal, then you keep the high dmg bonus even with restored health.
I would suggest that scatter throw with bleed build at point blank range is very good bleeding build up and has very quick recovery animation, So I think it can be B tier.
Id put blinkbolt into D tier on style points alone, they need to add a few frames of hyper armor to the end of it (enough to get an attack off with a light weapon), because the whole "getting staggered immediately when you arrive" thing really kills the vibe of dashing from enemy to enemy as literal lightning
I don't quite understand the hate for Blinkbolt. It's an and you can attack instantly out of it or prepare a sorcery/incant in the animation, as far as I recall.
@@FelisImpurrator unless a stiff breeze hits you at the end of the dash, you will stagger and it'll kill your flow, you can queue an action, but if anything happens to you between the and the attack, it staggers The greataxe special version is the only good one because a jump can avoid attacks that would otherwise interrupt the animation I found that using the twin axes is more frustrating because none of it gets hyper armor And mind you I give it a D as a totally useless skill because it is still fun when you're not being staggered out of the follow-up and it looks cool, but from a practical POV, quickstep basically is better on every level, fewer FP, quicker startup for s, can go in any direction, and the damage blinkbolt does on its own is negligible
@@Ytinasniiable Is this factoring in any natural poise from armor? What are you getting hit by? Apparently its poise value is 80 on twinaxes. Not sure if that adds or replaces natural poise, but if it's additive, not wearing a cloth sack should be enough to at least push it over the 100 mark. I tried it out with the Deathknight set and Bullgoat talisman and wasn't getting staggered out of it by random attacks. Twinaxe also has the strange effect of triggering the Godskin Cloth every two hits like it's a colossal weapon or something, despite being an attack that hits like a powerstanced twinblade jump attack. If it had any hyper armor it would just be stupid beyond belief with the multihit stacking. Overall, it seems fine. Could use maybe a few frames of delay cleaned up, or a bit more poise like 101 or 131 or something. But worse than quickstep? That's just way overstating it.
@@Ytinasniiable I literally just said "I threw on the bullgoat talisman" just now. 48 is more than enough to shoot over the breakpoint with it on. Still enough to pile up Millicent, Rotten Winged, and Godskin Cloth on a twinaxe build. And if I remember correctly, rats and dogs are precisely the enemies infamous for having abnormally high poise damage on their attacks for how hard they actually hit, so that isn't exactly an average use case.
You're severely underrating the scattershot ash. It does good damage on the claws of night and great status buildup at close range on the smithscript dagger. It's a shotgun. Shotguns are good in this game. It doesn't have any hit count limitation on a single target, so you can literally just spam statuses point blank. Also the only proper way to use the daggers is dual wielded as a rapid firing, pike-ranged multihit attack. It's not meant to be a "ranged weapon" and the damage one-handed is pathetic, because the dual wield moveset is significantly faster, hits twice per attack, and can print damage pretty damn quickly when you consider it hits six times in a normal combo. Think of it like a twinblade - if you're one-handing the weapon you're objectively just making life worse for yourself. It's also great on horseback because it's so fast and longer ranged than most mounted attacks - literally being able to quickthrow at enemies as you pass by is almost always more reliable than the slow, annoying, vulnerable sweep most weapons are stuck to.
Blindspot definitely S tier bruh, it makes it so easy to dodge/avoid enemy combos and also dealing massive damage, what else could you ask for, I defeated mesmer in 5 tries with this weapon, spamming its ash of war on right time
gravity spin attack is totally A+ tier. bleed infusion + bleed talisman + shard of alex + rot insignia + prosthesis talisman + the food that increases physical damage and arcane and then doubles it when bleeding happens nearby + the white mask for more damage when bleeding occurs and you utter SHRED bosses HP like its nothing.
@@Wallahi13 well once you are in the animation you cant get knocked out of the spin... i killed the final boss with it and i just face tanked him the entire time. i built tanky with buffs had malenias great rune and since it attacks fast i heal stupidly fast.
Wing stance should have been added to thrusting swords and heavy thrusting swords at least. Limit the slash damage compared to milady and increase the thrust damage and it makes complete sense.
As a Moonlight GS enjoyer, i rank Carian Sovereignty an S-tier. The hyper armor isnt necessary as long as you know your opening. And to be fair, it may not have hyper armor, but it stil has a lot of poise that non-bosses cant usually interrupt it.
If they simply made blinkbolt also give your weapon a more damaging electric armament like the fire one, this would be amazing, back to electric slash i geuss
I think shield strike is really good. It allows for trading favorably, which can dramatically change the tempo of fights. I'd put it up there with the stance options.
Ehhh, using a pseudo ash that's 0FP for literally just a triple poke combo feels like a waste. You could mainhand a thrusting shield and use a really good ash like Vow of the Indomitable or something instead.
Brother, the blink bolt causes the heavy attack following it to be a heavy slam with lightning. That being said on the weapon you get it from. Sorry, but I don't agree with the F. I understand the thought that it does nothing but for the big heavy weapon users. It makes gap closing fast and the follow up is a huge attack woth heavy stagger effects.
The normal ash is the one being ranked, not the axe one. But while it doesn't have a unique followup, you can still attack immediately out of it or queue a spell in the animation, so it's still pretty decent.
I would also put Savage Claws higher. It might not deal the highest damage but it's quite useful for staggering enemies and proccing bleed. Also beast claw already have many gap closer moves so I don't think it's needed.
That beast claw ash of war has a dash then jump attack, the dash can be used to evade damage like bloodhound step. The gap closer without Ashe of war is still not enough against long range attacks and spells hence the dash can help as it also evades damage. I love using the beast claw against ones like Dane, dancing Ranah, the bear NPC in the northern masuoleum but against heavier enemies I find it harder to keep attacking
@@abcdef5010 I wasn't comparing the two ashes of war since I haven't found the other one yet. However, KhrazeGaming criticized the Savage Claws for not having gap closer so I just added that the weapon itself has many build in already. Probably not as good as the other ash of war. Still running light has probably the longest reach and the range is pretty good. You can also use heavy attack to duck down to evade horizontal attacks and leap with a charged attack to deal decent poise damage. The main strength of the Savage Claws is its staggering potential that can kind of trivialize many encounters while providing decent damage and status build up.
It's a somber weapon and occult starfists are just better with superior status , damage and better ashes. I had so much hope but it's pretty much just a damage buff option
@@fist_of_wakanda1574 that’s the Fire Knight Greatsword, and it’s by far the best weapon to use that AoW on. You can farm it from a Fire Knight down the elevator from the Storehouse front Grace.
I made a Fire Knight build and its pretty fun 🤩 I using Fire Knight Greatsword with Flame Skewer and Queelign Greatsword with Flame Spear. Armor im using Fire Knight chest/gloves/boots and Mesmer helm. And i found Serpent Crest Shield that matches the armor set pretty well too. 🤩
spinning gravity thrust deserved A+ or S for sure, idk what youre on (the hyperamor, the possible bleed setup, or just overall cool factor) and the two martial arts ones are FOR SURE NOT S (they are cool but thats all they are) the point that "it leaves you very exposed" either means that you dont know how to setup damage negation and like braindead builds OR dont know what healing flasks are
