Hey idk if someone has said this, but the Bloodhounds Blade has a two part active ability, if you use your strong attack button right after casting it’s ability, you’ll do like a veiled invisible dash-slash move thing. You can dodge attacks with it as well.

The Bloodhound’s Fang is easily my favorite weapon in this game. I’m still using it as my primary weapon and it shreds health bars! What makes this sword really badass is that the Finesse ability has two parts to it’s attack; the backflip flurry move, and then pressing the right trigger again will teleport/dash you forward for another attack. It’s sick! Definitely deserves to be A tier!

Blood Hound Fang is S-tier if you are making a quality build. If not at least A-tier. The strength and dexterity scaling for this sword are amazing. It will carry you throughout the entire game.

The bloodhound is definitely A. He didn't mention the two part ability about the teleporting strike it has. Plus onve upgraded it is insanely powerful

The eclipse shotel likely didn't proc its death effect because the death status is only effective against tarnished, like other players and npcs that are basically modified player characters.

I feel so shocked for bloodhound , it was my first weapon and just got me out of tight situations. It's top tier for me specially when used with talismans.

Marais Executioner’s sword isn’t a bleed weapon. It’s weapon art become very scary with talimans that increase attack with successive strikes. Each spin of the corkscrew counts as an attack. It melts most enemies and often causes enemy stagger

I would definitely have put the Bloodhound Fang in A tier. I've played almost the entire game with it. Every time I try to use a different weapon I get destroyed and end up going back to the Fang. It's easy to use, does good damage, does bleed damage and can be acquired at the very beginning of the game.

A huge thing that didn’t really get mentioned here is the ability of many weapon arts to stagger. Idk the exact stats, but arts like moonveils vertical slash or bloodhound fang’s art do a TON of stagger damage. Moonveils ability to stagger with that move makes it such a versatile weapon, since it’s attack speed is so quick one handed as well

Nice video. Things to consider for future videos like this: 1. In Elden ring you have weapon stat scaling which is different and definitely impacts a weapons viability late game 2. Ashes of War placed on normal weapons can rival legendaries without a problem so good idea to compare for example a uchigatana +25 and moon veil 3. Would be nice to have more numbers on screen like damage values and impact of resistances

Obviously I couldn't include every weapon (These videos take me days of recording and editing) and weapons will perform differently in PVP vs PVE but since most of this game is PVE that's how I ranked these weapons. Let me know if there's any weapons I missed down below! *Edit - I said in the video that the Executioner's Sword does bleed, but It in fact does not do bleed*

It’s incredible to me how many interesting and cool weapons are in this game. They really took the time to make things special, unique, and fun!

The radahn greatswords are also insanely good. I got mine fairly early and haven't looked back, it shreds everything. The ability is great for aoe and rune farming, as well as most bosses, not to mention you get a second sword for free when you 2 hand it

Moonveil Katana is so simple yet effective and fun. Perfect for sorcery users who just want to maintain distance. It’s really one of the main factors to keep my enjoying my 2nd playthrough

With Bloodhound Fangs L2 attack you follow up with an R2 attack for a forward teleport move. Equally as cool.

Bloodhounds fang is insanely good, you’re absolutely crazy to put it in B tier

Ghiza's wheel is actually really good because it pins the enemy in place for a good while with the special attack

Bloodhound's Fang and Fallingstar Beast Jaw carried me all the way thru the game. Once I got passed the Fire Giant I always equipped my mimic with the Bloodhound Fang and kept a safe distance and wrecked every boss with the Fallingstar Beast Jaw special move

I think if you had touched on the second half of the bloodhound fang's special move, you would have moved it up to A tier. If you follow up with the right trigger after the jump back, you flash back forward with another heavy hit. I haven't found another weapon that lets you control your engagement with the ai as easily, and I consistently catch invaders with their pants down with the follow up.

I like your take on the “overpowered” trend, and not basing the weapon on specific builds. I wouldn’t dedicate a build to a specific weapon, I like using a variety of weapons on a build. Black blade is also a necessity on my faith build. Dual coded swords for most mobbing (recommend a look), but for bosses the black blade usually comes out.

Anybody who's curious about Ghiza's wheel should check out the second half of MauLer's after he started using it. It's definitely hit or miss but when it hits it melts bosses.

The Bloodhound Fang is my favourite weapon in this game, easy. I tried all kinds of different weapons and had varying levels of success, but I can beat virtually everything with ease with the fang. Bloodhound Finesse is a seriously underrated ability.

Blasphemous Sword: the Takers Flame ability also heals you. This is super convenient and more relevant in my opinion than the heal you get from kills

I just started the game, can't kill the first boss and still I keep watching these 'op' weapons that I can't get for ages

Bolt of Gransax is easily S tier. It's a sniper cannon with incredible range. it knocks players and bosses like Malenia onto the ground. You can choose how long you charge the special as well. Regular attack with shield up. With the right stats it's a howitzer. Also, Blasphemous Blade gives you a big heal when the special ability hits each target. Death's Poker is missed from the list. A to S tier frost weapon.

As strength build in all FS games, the Ruins Greatsword is probably one of the best since it’s S scaling and the skill does crazy damage not to mention how far it goes. I think basing it just on requirements is a little silly especially if you’re 80+ strength doing 1000 damage per swing

As a str build I've tried many weapons over my playthrough but nothing beat the guts sword its move set was just way better than most colossal weapons. My 3 main weapons was guts sword, giant crusher hammer, and the nightrider glaive. The nightrider glaive was probably the most cheesy bc I had the phantom ash of war on it and If I used a resin It would apply stuff really quickly.

1:44 seconds in and you earned a sub for not creating click bate content. I especially like the "a weapon a casual player can pick up and see how far it will get them". Honesty is rare in the world and even more so amongst content creators.

my favorite is the serpent hunter, the fight against rykard with this thing is just so epic. Yes after the boss fight it’s battle art is useless, but it still the highest AR great Spear with a pure strength build. Since I like to use shield crash on my greatshield anyways so it isn’t really that big of a deal. Most importantly, it just looks cool.

Bloodhounds fang also has a teleport forward after you hit attack after L2. Same teleport that the boss does. It also does instant heavy after the teleport

also the nagakiba with lightning slash and ellas pole blade are amazing and underrated

Im playing elden ring for the first time (just reached altus plateu) and carried blood hound fang since I got it and absolutely love this weapon so Im glad to see this comments giving me prove that its actually that great thx guys

I'm suprised there wasn't the Death's Poker weapon, one of its special abilities is really nice both on bosses and groups of enemies because it creates an area of black flames that stay up for a few seconds and it also builds up frost

I feel like you should’ve considered weapon scaling and not just the weapon art

Blood hound fang and Moon veil (even nerfed) are absolutely S tiers. I must say that if you are using a weapon you have to build for it. You can not say that a weapon is not as good because it has high str/dex/int requirement. Also i have to comment that almost everyone is talking about special weapons but some of the best weapons in the game are normal weapons especially those who can bleed since until it is nerfed bleed is king right now.

Quick note about a couple weapons: Marais doesn't do bleed, it just scales with arcane. It's skill can also be charged to make it do more damage for longer. Bloodhound (already saw people mention the second skill attack so I don't need to mention that) is one of the only somber upgrades that can be buffed with spells so overall it's damage can get very high on a dex build that can cast weapon buffs, i.e. bloodflame blade and the like.

Siluria's Tree is pretty good as well. The weapon skill has a very good range and does A LOT of damage when even half-properly built around.

Both the sword of night and flame and the moonveil are available relatively early and up to the point where you reach leyndell they are S tier egen after the patch. Morgott is the first boss that will start to feel a bit challenging with either of those. Use the hookclaws until you get either of the swords. Lvl 1 hookclaws melt even godrick.

Godslayer Greatsword is actually a beast, i would recommend it if you build High Dex and Mid Faith, it has the best WA in the game imo.

Bloodhound Fang is my most used weapon. It's low requirement, can deal lots of damage, bloodloss passive, and its Left Trigger allows more maneuverability in tight spaces.I've taken out half of the bosses in my playthrough(new player) with just that weapon.

Wing of Astel is so good it made me give up moonveil. Magic projectile when using R2 (no FP cost) and the weapon art staggers and kills bosses quickly.

Ruins Greatsword is S tier and I won't hear any other argument. It CARRIED me through most bosses in the game. If you're a STR build of any kind, it's a must have for clearing multiple enemies at a time and bosses.

I main Blood hound fang and thank you everyone whos saying it has a 2 part attack, i never knew and im like lvl 100

The ORNAMENTAL STRAIGHT SWORD dropped by the first boss (grafted scion) is pretty good early on and gives a dual blade possibility right off the bat when starting a game

Fun fact, you can get a talisman that does the heal effect of Blasphemous blade, and I'm pretty sure they stack.

That second part of the bloodhound blade is what makes it so good honestly, the first part doesn't give you that much of a dodge.. but the second part packs a punch. Also it can be buffed since its pure physical, making it great for hybrid builds with sorcery or incantation buffs.

For Ghiza’s Wheel it’s great for crowds of enemies imo. Charge the LT and then walk up to the first enemy, and they get stunned and die within a couple seconds, and then you can just walk to the next closest. It’s not the best by any means, but it feels the coolest imo

The starscourge greatsword is amazing once it’s upgraded to the max, it’s a little slow on its attacks but when your up close it does crazy damage

Wing of Astel was an easy S tier for me. Used it until the end of the game on my mage build. It scales well with int and the ash of war being able to stagger bosses really helped so much. Arguably one of the best weapons in the game in my opinion

dont forget that the Bloodhounds Fang has a 2nd step to its LT attack which bloodhound steps you forward again followed by a huge uppercut. To use it, LT, then as soon as you roll out, RT to phase forward.. does huge damage

Tip for hand of melania: it does great damage and had great range but the weapon art is not that good. This means that it’s a great offhand katana if you want to powerstance. This means you get the damage and the range without the crappy weapons art.

Honestly, sword of night and flame (even post patch), prince of death staff and golden order seal still got me through my first playthrough comfortably, though with a LOT more deaths but still good built correctly

Agree with almost of this list, although Mohgwyns Sacred Spear is a clear S tier weapon everyone should try.

Wing of Astel really shines against large bosses. You generally have a lot more time to get the Nebula off against larger bosses and the stagger damage is ridiculous.

Cant wait to see more rot and death weapons, literally more options is just better for builds and id love to see things other than bleed.

I’ve heard that the Death Shotel has a glitch associated with it that instantly procs death on players in pvp. That’s also where it’s main strength is even without that cuz it will instant kill eventually

If mohg’s sacred spear is maxed out with an arcane build and with height poise, it’s insane.

I think so many "weapon is OP' videos and the differences between them is more of a testament to the game design and how there are many variations that are equally effective with different play styles. There are many different ways to achive the same reault

Even with the nerf Moonveil is still amazing for PvE, I respec’d for it after beating rennala and it got Me through almost the rest of the game; and because it scales with INT using it with a staff off hand really makes you well rounded and can fight any type of enemy

Reduvia carried me through my entire first play through. The range on its LT is still more than most melee weapons and it costs virtually no FP

About the Grafted Blade Greatsword. I put that sword on an A tear because when you equipped the tower shield that you get from beating the knight that's walking up and down in the encampment before you get to the windy part of the map where you get to fight Margit The Fell Omen, you become like a brick wall. Guard countering becomes very deadly and I defeated many main bosses with that sword.

This list is pretty good, but i kinda disagree with bloodhound's fang being in B tier. I have played through the entirety of my ng+ and i can say that this weapon deserves a low-mid A tier. It has great AR on itself, but what makes it shine is the weapon art. You've got a combination of good damage, colossal weapon jump R2 attack stance damage, and the dodge, while mostly not working because of how fast the lategame bosses are, can sometimes still help you dodge some of the attacks. Personally i have found myself having a lot more fun using this than rivers of blood, while still being able to melt bosses by spamming.

Once again, the Bloodhound Fang is slept on. The L2 R2 combo is insanely strong and very often staggers and or bleeds. I tried the Moonveil Katana, I made a claw build, and Blasphemous blade. I ended up respeccing back to my Bloodhound build because its simply a very strong weapon. Definite A tier weapon.

I’ve been looking for a good list of weapons that have good abilities and its always the same ones with moonveil being up top but some of these swords are insane and have really good abilities thanks for showing me some actually good swords

I feel the fallingstar beastjaw is really slept on, i would argue it's the best colossal weapon in the game. It's got high damage and stagger both in melee range or at a good distance, which more or less cancels the usual weaknesses of a colossal weapon, being able to exploit windows that you otherwise couldn't for a little FP cost. I just can't try another build without going back to it, it's worth just for the damn birds or dogs that like to juke out of range.... well they can't juke gravity. It also can be practical against casters and healing in pvp with good timing.

I'm noticing as you do this list that many of these weapons have a lot of power you don't quite go into. I've played a lot of Ruins Great Sword, and that thing can basically stunlock bosses with your mimic (huge poise break), or double proc against larger enemies with its AW if you position right. It's a monster weapon, and the crouch light / dodge light is great in pvp and pve if you want speedy attacks. The cool thing I'm seeing from your video: despite weapons only having a few moves the expression a player can take with many of the weapons in this game and souls in general seems pretty deep. There is no way RGS is not a fantastic weapon to me, but I played that thing for hours upon hours and we all approach weapons differently. Some weapons are obviously really easy to use and stupid stronk, but it's just sweet that RGS or pretty much any weapon can be really strong based on the player who use it.

Bloodhounds Fang at B tier is a war crime

I feel like Eleonora poleblade deserved a bit of love, the ash of war procs so much bleed and does so much stance damage that you can stun lock most enemies plus you can spam it really easily

I would honestly put the falling star beast jaw in a category of this. The weapon art is absolutely amazing at single targets and bosses because it does amazing poise damage to everything. Most big enemies get staggered for a repost in 2 hits and the weapon art itself does a good chunk of damage

Once you finish the main story there is a ton of side content you can use the final boss weapon against as well as in Souls new game plus is crucial to most souls veterans

Great video! I'm subbed because I like your content. I recently used reduvia against millicent sisters and the big rot dude before them and it was a life saver. Not sure if it got buffed or what but it was sweet. I do think the accuracy and cast speed could be better though. Also I main a rivers of blood with an uchikatana in my off-hand due to it having bleed of 110 before buff(I have sepuku ash on it) so when I L1 and swing with both ROB and Uchi, it's devastating. The Blasphemous Blade is my favorite weapon, it’s absolutely insanely awesome. Any one that is having trouble with this game needs to put this one at the top of the list. Great job I think you nailed the rating of all these weapons.

The blood hound fang can also do another attack after your the the back flip, you hold right trigger and you do a teleport heavy attack

Im glad people are commenting about the second input on bloodhound fang’s ability because that teleport slash makes all the difference and should make it A tier

Moonveil did get nerfed, but it only reduced poise damage dealt. It's still a ridiculously good sword worthy of A, but I'd say it's definitely a S tier.

In my entire run I used two of the blades (so one blade in every hand) from the hawks with the blades on their feets. I loved to play with it and made insane damage.

The Fallingstar Jaw blade is phenomenal. It's L2 range and damage is what my build is made for, definitely S teir as it stuns with ease and can fire off quickly with minimal FP use.

I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but Wing of Astel's special move does massive poise damage as well, staggering most larger enemies in 2 or 3 attacks. It's also got huge stunlock potential because of it.

Bloodhounds fang has carried me through the game. The special attack has ended invasions before they began for me many times.

No mention of the amazing follow up attack for the Bloodhounds Fang? It's a mini Bloodhounds Step which you can use to dodge attacks as well.

I NEVER see any videos posting the fallingstar beast jaw. It’s got great stagger and range with its left trigger ability. I use it to easily knock any boss down and I believe it should be in a future video
