It makes sense that From Software would take inspiration from real-world astrology in designing the Carian culture, and the Nox are certainly connected with them. Even though it may some of these may be coincidences, there being "Three Sisters", three Eternal Cities and three torches to light in Sellia could easily have been purposeful in order to create this reference.

First off, I can’t say enough good things about sharing these kinds of outside the box theories, since I think this kind of thinking is required to uncover the deeper mysteries this game holds. I’d never heard of the Summer Triangle before, but the idea that key locations would be a) built in sets of 3, and b) align with the stars are very intriguing avenues to investigate. I’m a little skeptical about triangles though, as technically any 3 places will form a triangle. However, the fact that you’ve picked certain specific locations, and had those locations produce remarkably similar triangles on different scales (mirroring the micro/macro sameness concept expressed in the famous hermetic phrase “as above so below”) makes it harder to deny that you’re probably onto something. One thing I want to mention about terrestrial locations vis a vis their alignment with specific celestial bodies (idunno if I used “vis a vis” correctly) is that the lands between is very different in this regard than the real world. The land has clearly undergone dramatic alterations, likely occurring over a very short period, as I’m presuming many of these dramatic alterations came about during the shattering. A couple examples being the Weeping Peninsula becoming an island, the chapel of Anticipation being torn away from the cliff-facing edge of Stormveil, and the flooding of the Liurnian lowlands, transforming the forest into a swamp and causing the sprawling gate town to sink into the mire. Conversely, the positions of the stars in the sky has remained unchanged since the day Radahn won his conquest of the stars and arrested their cycles. So there’s a very good chance that in many of the places you mentioned the alignment between cosmic and earthly locations remains largely in tact. Whether there’s actually anything to be gleaned from this, or if it’s limited to the idea itself I’m not sure. I wonder if there’s any correlation between the locations of in-game stars in the sky and real world locations of stars in the sky

This kind of stuff really takes me back to the good old days with Shadow of the Colossus theory crafting and speculation, enhanced by the technology of our time really allowing Fromsoft to truly add hidden detail and an extra scope of secrets to their titles.

I feel like everything is so deliberate in this game that I would expect the triangles to be exactly the same (or a lot closer to each other). Maybe there’s something to the idea of triangles themselves (or groups of 3 things), but I think it’s a pretty big stretch to say these are all mirroring a specific kind of triangle. Our minds evolved to literally see patterns in everything, so i can understand the theory and I’m not knocking the hustle, but I remain a triangle skeptic. Also, I had Triangle Pit by Otto Von Schirach playing in my head for this whole video, and that was fun. Thanks for the vid!

Makes sense that the foundation of the mystery of ER would be at the three sisters because you have to finish Ranni’s quest line to get the good ending and truly beat the game.

The inverted towers actually serve a purpose, they represent the fall of the 3 sisters. In the leaked dlc gameplay you can see them in the distance in 5 different places (not 5 towers) and they are crumbled. In the lore drscription of the noxtela hood it actually stares "Sisters three, they rise, they fall, and forgetten, yet again to be impure of the mortal sin". Ranni, Renna and Melina (not confirmed) serve a huge purpose in the dlc's background lore. Also Godofroy is cannon and serve as the counterpart of Godrick as his "destiny after death", meaning that we can't know for sure if the new great runes could be part of the elden ring.

only problem is that nothing would have changed because Radahn stopped the movement of the stars and sealed their fate. That's why you have to defeat Radahn before you can progress Ranni's questline. Otherwise I agree. Great job!

I just spent spent the last few minutes traveling around the lands between looking for a clear view of the stars. got clear weather and a good view from liurnia, and although I can see lots of triangles, I can't find any that are particularly notable. guess I should try staring at the skybox for longer...

Interesting concept. I think this can be attributed to game design instead. Zelda Breath of the Wild developed a triangular point-of-interest design theory. Each point on the map should be able to see three other points of interest to give players a sense of constant opportunities. So any three points are going to create a triangle, but you are likely removing the fourth point, the observation point, for confirmation bias.

I just ate a slice of pizza and it told me about Leo Is cool theory, I took the repeating 3's in those two cultures as a generic triple goddess setup that repeats across the real world. Like breat or the Morrigan, goddesses that are embodied in 3 different aspects, at the same time and place or not, or even things like the holy trinity, or Maiden mother crone witchcraft. Really, three is a popular number for magic systems, and only so many shapes have 3 sides... But I absolutely agree the Marian's and nox would absolutely have the summer triangle for the reasons you suggest, even if unintentional. Also pyramids do triple stuff and line up with stars. Both hemispheres of earth.

I think it makes sense for the Liurnia Towers since they do have a strong connection to astrology/astronomy, but the other triangles feel a bit forced to me, I think it's just common to use 3 "points of balance" when designing a world with a lot of features.

Of course those are all in triangles - the illunimatis built them!

I think it really doesn't make much sense because none of the triangles match up to each other and it would be unlikely to be a progression of their movement as radahn has held the stars in a standstill for quite some time now but for those that like these theories I recommend you look up the elden ring cataclysm cut content to see how the movement of the stars was meant to change how the game was played. But until then I'll be drawing triangles over the locations of the three wise beasts

I love crazy Elden Ring theories thanks for the video! I think you are onto something but i think the Summer Triangle is only used a motif to reinforce the astrology themes in the games, basically an Easter egg with no further insight into the lore of the game.

Have you seen The Tarnished Archaeologist videos? It's really interesting how his archeology knowledge allow him to see a lot of information that we normally don't notice.
