love to click in a video called “twinblades are broken (not clickbait!!)” only to see example after example of completely intact twinblades. not clickbait my ass
I love the weapon type only run. More casual, just Gino having fun with the game. While of course I can appreciate the tension of a no-hit even as a RU-vid video, these are my favorite. Can't wait for the CGS only video, I just think they're neat.
very much agreed. This is exactly what i do when i do new playthroughs. from my experience the coolest combo is the claws with frost stomp. Max upgrade gives you 100 frost build up and 65 bleed build up. PER CLAW. If you have mimic tear, thats 4 claws attacking at once, extremely overpowered and CHUNKS any boss. Having frost on your weapon also allows you to attack all the stone creatures.
Hey Gino, I'm doing chemo treatment and so I tend to nap a lot. And somehow I've managed to condition myself to get really sleepy watching your videos. Thanks for helping me nap hahah
Not the same circumstances for me, but i feel the same way, whenever im going to sleep, which i usually struggle with, i watch his videos and it really helps Also i hope your treatments all go well
Watched/watching this while in the hospital just getting routine tests done for myself. Thank you. I know you don’t really know what all your viewers are going through but you single handedly made this hospital visit cozy and made me feel at home. Thank you.
18:10 - About horseback fighting: the twinblade and flails moveset on Torrent are SUPER fun. I always use Torrent + flail when fighting dragons for more stagger dmg; two full charged R2 from Nightrider Flail was enough to stance break Adula and I finished the fight without breaking a sweat. Never tried against Radhan or Fire Giant, though. It might work as well
Eleonara's Poleblade is how I beat Malenia the first time, when I didn't know her moveset or anything. I didn't get the idea from a guide, it was just the weapon I used for half the game. It works very well on any enemy that can be staggered easily, and less well against those that cannot (although the trade can still be good). Overall is was easy mode.
Yea once you get the talismans needed it becomes a powerhouse weapon! It kinda don’t work on the dlc though, they just don’t get staggered like almost at all
These 'specific weapon class only' runs inspired me to do a bunch of casual playthroughs with similar self imposed limitations and eleonora's poleblade has been my favorite weapon in the game ever since running twinblades only
Its been my fav since i found out about it. That ash is SO CLEAN! Its not hyper busted so it doesnt get the rob/moonveil treatment but it also isnt weak so u can totally beat ng+ with it and full clear everything twice. Sadly tho, it does drop off after that to an unusable level but most ppl dont push ng+s like that
My friend suggested them to me and I’ve been enjoying them! I just finished an axe/ great axe only build and it was fun adapting to a new challenge! I unfortunately didn’t realize the flaming strike ash of war existed until after I beat radahn tho 😅
One fun thing you could do with the twinblade is put the stormcaller ash on it and cast the black flame infusion. This is like a knock-off early game version of the black flame tornado
What black flame ash would you use to infuse it? The black whetblade is found during Rannis quest, in the eternal city, so there’s no way you’re getting this “ early game “ unless early game means after Radahn, Ranalla and Loretta
@@riplix20 the black flame blade incantation is in Stormveil, in the basement behind the imp statue with the rats in the main yard. Pretty early if you ask me. How many hours do you have in ER? I bet under 500 Also try it, now that you know. You’ll like it :)
@@riplix20 the Black Flame blade incantation is in Stormveil. It IS early. How many hours in ER do you have? My bet is under 500. That aside, go and try it now that you know, hope you'll like it ;)
8 new weapon CLASSES?! WTF, that's a little excessive right? I'm all for it, hopefully they fill out weapons for those classes and it isn't just 1 or 2 weapons.
I highly doubt theyll give us fleshed out classes without adding more to the ojes that exist and are already lacking. But i do feel like filling those AND full new classes is an option... but that may be asking alot.
@@KimJongPhil I’m hoping for more whips and flails, and spears For sure they’ll introduce an unarmed fist class, and maybe a new seal/weapon that boosts miquella type incantations.
Alexander drops warrior jar shard. It increases damage from skills by 10%. Alexander GIVES Alexander's Shard when you finish his quest line. THAT increases it by 15%. So yeah the best charm in the Game is Alexander's shard, not Warrior Jar Shard, but you still have to kill him for it anyways :(
Idea for a run: Homebody You can only use items that are, or have been, in the roundtable hold: except key items like quest items, wet blades or crystal tears and materials for crafting items, but the recipes have to be acquired from the hold. The difficulty comes from limited selection on items, ashes of war, talismans, buffs. Weapon upgrades are mostly limited to their bell bearings and an optional challenge is also not picking up outside golden seeds or sacred tears but i chose not to do that. I really enjoy your videos and i just thought id post this on the chance you'd see this. Cheers
Sounds painful. The weapon you start with is cipher path, which you cannot wield properly. So then you have to farm runes to use it by killing the ball over and over again.
Since you can pick up key items including stone sword keys you can get the crossbow and rot arrows from hold to kill a boss then you have your pick of weapons from the twin maidens and you have incants as well so it's really not bad, the main thing is just resisting the urge to pick up items and not being able to use nearly all talismans and most optimal buffs and ashes
1:37:19 you can delay the attack on the jump attack so all 8~ hits can actually land. you can just press l1 on the lower half of your jump as your fallign to land all 8 hits, so you arent missing 25%~ of your output
After the bloodboon ritual nerf, Eleanoras Poleblade is the go to ez mode for Malenia in my opinion. I did my first ever arcane playthrough and had vaulted the poleblade for a more fun venomous fang build whilst in Leyndell, but decided to bring it out for Malenia and was blown away by how easy it made the fight.
Watching to see his take on the build. I did this last year with twin blades but I ran the blood one and the godskin peeler. Was great for a while. Absolutely fell off a cliff it felt later. Greatswords, hammers, and maces just feel much more consistent to me.
I used Eleanoras poleblade and a godskin sticther with seppukku and caused mojo to not have a second phase the damage ramped up so much. It’s fun to do once or twice, but I agree that trivializing the game every play through would get unfun.
While they aren't as overlooked as whips or flails, a lot of the Elden Ring community is really sleeping on hammers. and so I think it would be awesome to see one of these single weapon class runs with only hammers.
Hey Gino! Love your content my man. I was wondering if you've ever done a parry build? I completed it a week ago thought it was really satisfying, I would love to see a video of you completing it as well!
Comment about Warcry r2s- it increases the poise damage multiplier to +300% when most charged r2s are like 180% . You can get insanely fast staggers on bosses by just spamming it Edit: also it has HUGE status effect multiplier
Hey, Gino. I just wanted to thank you for always providing funny and entertaining content. You're a really great guy, and i just want you to know that I appreciate you and your content. Much love
Can i olay this build when i am New to the game? Is there a written guide or can someone explain for me whitch class or where i can find These items? Or how can i get Perm bleed on them?
Bestial vitality unfortunately doesn't work with rejuvenation flask at the same time, such a flask and any healing over the time spells replace each other.
Loretta turning from the Light Carian Side to the Dark Side of Rot is truly the deepest lore, can't believe nobody else picked up on this until now, Gino is the greatest lore hunter 1:49:25
Regarding the question at the end: I assume a good curved sword r2 build can be made with the wing of astel. The projectiles add significant damage and poise damage and it has 2hit charged r2s for the multihit talismans.
I ran twinblades on release and was using Elenora's poleblade on Malenia wondering why the damage was terrible. Turns out the scaling didn't work until they pathed it. This makes me wanna run through the game again with it!
You should do a medieval knight only or just knight only run. The build could be surprisingly fun when compared to the amount of setup that you do for these kinds of runs.
Why were you jumping with Barbaric Roar? When I tried the same build, instead of jumping for the follow-up on barbaric roar, I just stepped forward with a slightly similar attack. Anyone know what's up with this?
10:34 "The talisman only affects physical scaling damage. The physical base damage and other non-physical damage types will remain the same. Purely non-physical weapons like Cipher Pata and Coded Sword will therefore gain no benefit from this talisman. The damage bonus increases in inverse proportion to the weight of your equipment (the lower your total equipment load, the greater the damage bonus). The damage bonus has soft caps at 8(1.135x), 16(1.09x) and 20(1.0375x) equip weight. Once equip weight is 30 or higher the talisman has no effect. The maximum physical attack power multiplier is 1.15x, however this is unobtainable due to the weight of the talisman, the maximum obtainable multiplier is 1.1483125x Lighter weapons receive higher percent damage bonus than heavier weapons due to them being lower weight. The damage scaling shown on your equipment screen while wearing the talisman for unequipped weapons is not accurate until you actually equip the weapon. Increases Bow Damage. Affects Sorceries and Incantations that deal physical damage. Due to this talisman not being based on equip load %, only flat amount, the boost from this talisman is not increased by the Winged Crystal Tear. Blue Dancer Charm formula if EquipWgt < 8, then EquipWgt * -0.001875 + 1.15 if EquipWgt < 16, then (EquipWgt - 8) * -0.005625 + 1.135 if EquipWgt < 20, then (EquipWgt - 16) * -0.013125 + 1.09 if EquipWgt < 30, then (EquipWgt - 20) * -0.00375 + 1.0375 if EquipWgt >= 30, then 1"
It’s so funny, the Halo Scythe was my main weapon for my first playthrough, so those Deathrite Birds were completely trivial. Just press L2 four times and win. I didn’t even see their moveset until subsequent playthroughs 😂
Elenora’s poleblade is so good, my fav weapon in the game. Bleed, Stance Pressure, and crazy damage when paired with the multi hit effects. What’s not to love?
had this video on the background while I defeated Melania for the first time puking rainbows rn ngl had a like and a sub good man I guess my next playthrough will be twinblades only uh?
My very first play through was Twinblade with Bloody Slash. Carried me through the game, until I found Eleonora’s Poleblade. Powerstancing both weapons turns you into god.
I was waiting for this vid for so long ! Very cool. Little advice for those who want to try : raptor of the mist ash of war on a twinblade powerstance + jump attack build. Just try
I feel like Elden Ring is mostly difficult if you rush to bosses, because if you get the items from each area first then you kind of demolish most enemies. It's nice because the difficulty is very adjustable, but at the same time there are also really awful builds because some things are underpowered.
I power stance gargoyle twinblades on my str/faith build for my holy switch (I main blasphemous blade obviously). Twin blades can be used in every build for a nice change of pace.
