Elder abuse happens when an older person is harmed by someone they know and trust. Sadly, many instances of elder abuse occur within family relationships.
Older people can experience abuse in various forms - including financial, emotional, physical or sexual abuse. It can also result from neglect. Anyone can be affected by elder abuse, regardless of their background, culture or lifestyle.
