Kerapac's last message was my favorite part of the quest. "I was right about everything and regret nothing, _peace out, bitches!"_ 4:57: Though runner up has to go to that single examine message.
it's crazy to think how far ahead Jagex planned this The Great Revision. The Broken Needle. The Shadow Breach. If that knowledge is lost, all things shall end. Not just life. Not just the universe. Everything. Time and space, and life and death... this is from the Hall of Memories (memory of Cres)
The fact that you can access this information about The Great Revision, The Broken Needle, and The Shadow Breach from the Hall of Memories is really awesome. I completely forgot that this was in one of the memories 😮 ! Impressive that Jagex foreshadowed this from so long ago...
Hey Adam, Thanks so much for your comment and immediate support on this video :D! I really enjoyed the quest too! I hope I haven't missed anything in the video - Both the quest and this video were created within the same day, so not a long turnaround! Absolutely agree that the quest did go a different way than expected... Do you think the 5th boss of the Elder God Wars will be Zaros? I think that's a pretty good guess... I'm trying to think about who else it could possibly be... A more enraged Seren, perhaps? Hahaa!
Angof for leader of the elves, at this point. Seren: Yeah sorry about inadvertently destroying your homeworld with my very presence.... _anyway bye again!_ Angof: _Are you serious?!_ I actually just read the lore books on Tarddiad recently due to going for the master quest cape and wow, "tragic" does not do it justice.
Hey @MegaChickenfish, Thanks a lot for your comment! I agree that Angof is definitely a contender after Seren's actions during 'Extinction'! The lore books on Tarddiad are seriously tragic, agreed. I cover a little more about Tarddiad in this video if you're interested?: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-67FtEByZvo4.html
@@serge263 Yes, that's right! I guess canonically, the bosses in the EGWD have retreated/are dead, but the bosses will be kept in, similar to GWD1 and GWD2.
I really love the extinction quest , it was really well done and I liked every part of it. Rewards are cancer for such a big quest. Should have given better combat abilities from the shadow realm, these could be a tease for a full on shadow elite skill in the shadow realm(fingers crossed).
kerapac wont die bro, hes got all the eldar artifacts even though erebus is toxic hes a dragonkin and can survive the toxic shadow, not just that but he was able to get a vision out and said he will suffer for eternity alongside jas so trust they'll be back they didnt die
Hi @Jinx B, Fair enough points! It’s certainly possible that Kerapac is still alive and maybe he will return. It seemed like he died to me, but that doesn’t mean I’m right!
it seems like rs3 has a really ambitious and dare i say well executed story. I just am sad that the story gets relegated to a few art panels with a few lines of dialogue. More people would care about the story and love it if they could translate that story through the medium of their game better.
I definitely agree, Avrah! These days, key elements of the story appear to be explained solely by art panels. Whilst there isn't anything inherently wrong with that, I do think Jagex have trouble doing exactly what you have said. That is, displaying the story in-game in a more engaging way. It's strange because in 2016, we had some really cool cutscenes (final confrontation with Sliske in 'Sliske's Endgame')/interactable cutscenes (the lava in 'Children of Mah'), but they seem to have downgraded the animation and replaced them with these art panels... Which is definitely a shame in my opinion...
They do that mostly because of a ressource point of view. The mods who were responsible for the quest said that selling the idea of using dev time for quests is really hard since most players just do them for rewards and nothing else. Us lore abiding citizens are the minority :(
@@nickman287 it's kind of a chicken or egg scenario. Do people not care because the story in the quest isn't executed very well or would they not care in spite of if it had this amazing production value. Either way i don't play much runescape because i am very different than most of the playerbase
@@nickman287 This is a shame :(. I do wonder how much of a minority we really are… Are there really tons more PvMers? P.S. Love the ‘lore abiding citizens’ pun 😁!
You make a very good point Pathfinding! They may not be dead... Although that Leviathan certainly looked snappy :P! I don't think Erebus and the Shadow Realm are the same thing... But I could be mistaken. Erebus is another universe, while the Shadow Realm is a different part, unviewable by most, present in Gielinor's universe...
@@TheRuneScapeLorehound I think with this stuff there's definitely more to see - Kerapac is insanely powerful and has the Elder Artefacts with him, and Jas is literally the most powerful being in our universe. Perhaps it'll take some time for Erebus to destroy them, or perhaps they're saved by something else. There's still the question of Guildmaster Tony and others in Erebus, I doubt they'd have left it open just for him to be dead in there. Can't wait to see where they go with Erebus, presumably in future storylines if we're going with Zamorak for a while!
Hi @@alexcape1921 Yes, I agree that Kerapac and Jas are both formidable beings in their own right, so it is possible that they are both not dead. I guess it remains to be seen. The mysteries of Erebus are certainly engaging, and I forgot about Guildmaster Tony being in Erebus. All of these unexplored twines which make up the vast lore of RuneScape is very exciting indeed and could leave us speculating for weeks! :D
this quest was so disappointing for me. so many plot holes left. jagex promoted this so much, the quest was poor. I had such high expectations for this quest and im just left disappointed. jagex have had six freaking years to make this. I was expecting so much more. hell azanadra's quest was better city of sennistent unlocked an entire new area made magic the best combat style in the game after lagging behind ranged and meele for years. I have no positives about this quest. if I had to pick one... the music was incredibile. but im sorry id been so excited by this quest I ran home from work started up the quest, ignored everythign else on my account. now im sat here wishing id never bothered.
Hey Alpha Foxie, Thanks for your comment! As I said in the video, I enjoyed the quest, but it certainly could have been better. Jagex advertised this quest and hyped it up so much, and the payoff wasn’t particularly worth it in my opinion (and seemingly yours, too). What do you think about the new rewards for ‘Extinction’? Are you happier with them? Or is the quest still as disappointing to you?
