*I found this while miswriting "Elden Ring Lore".* I absolutely love it now, I have found the band on Spotify and I'm currently listening to all of their discography. I love the Internet
This entire album is so spiritual to me.. almost every day of every summer I just sit outside under the sky as the sun begins to set, listening to this band. It's, imo, the single best sensation in the world.
+Jules Lawton Ween's 'The Mollusk' takes the cake on best album cover matching the music for me. If you decide to check that album out check out the tracks "Mutilated Lips" and "Buckingham Green" most of the songs on that album are great but those are definitely ones to check out
Aaron Swartz THANK YOU. I feel the exact same about social media in general, even through the vast societal benefits it has generated. You and me would get along I feel. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK
Absolutely. Not to sound like a snob but virtually all other genres suck. It’s got a nice kick and authentic tone. Lyrically it’s the best. It’s got that same epic ness prog had back in the day.
I don't think so. Elder is one of few good exceptions because they feature so much more elements from Prog, Psychdelic to Post-Rock elements. Plus their song structures are unpredictable and vary a lot. Most Stoner Metal bands just sound generic, repetitive and boring with maybe 1 to 2 riffs overall in their generic 3-4 minutes songs. Just Kyuss rip offs for the most part.
@@TonyRedgrave1501 I'll go ahead and agree with that. Doom metal and stoner rock are my favorites and have been for the past few years. There's lots of good stuff, but you have to sift through plenty of cookie cutter bands to find it (as with any other genre, imo).

Also: I think you may also really enjoy doom metal, new wave of traditional metal, new wave of traditional thrash metal, blackened post metal.
This whole album still gives me goosebumps. It's nostalgic and emotional, yet triumphant and full of energy. It's like leaving all your loved ones and memories behind on a mission to save the world lol.
Searching for elder scrolls stuff (the game)... when suddenly a wild 'elder lore' appeared. and i thought to myself... 'a album, "elder lore".. must be prog to have such a cool cover... i love prog.. i will hear it. just a while though...' 60 minutes later a new fan is born. Couldn't stop hearing. AMAZING!!! out of nowhere, nobody indicated, no midia ever told me about it, just a very fortunate coincidence. and all that thanks to an amazing ALBUM COVER.
the artwork is incredible. the guitar riffs are spectacular. elder is a great band, this album IS a masterpiece. one of my fav releases from this decade so far
I just got finished discovering Dead Roots Stirring and listened to it like 5 times and now this... my brain can't handle it.. this is one of the best bands ever.
@@LBSTGTfile Who else do you listen to? I'm a huge fan of Kehmmis and The Sword. Just out trolling for new material to listen to and found this after The Sword. Love it.
working my way backwards through their catalog (as i've done with many bands, oddly enough) and couldn't be happier. Elder are quickly becoming a new favorite
Discovered these guys yesterday and haven't played anything else. This super melodic ancient ambient metal Sonic space journey has taken me there. That's why I love this genre. With this kind of music, I no longer need drugs to trip. Although, a ten strip and a huge fire in the middle of nowhere under an autumn sky would drive these albums home.
Ayy.. I'm a relatively "new" admirer of ELDER. I gotta say that This particular musical production is Absolutely Beautiful. Sometimes I Sing or Hum or 'Beat-box' throughout my day in order to Deal with occasional waves of Crippling depression. This Album has helped me stay Alert & Alive in some directly Personal ways. The expert manipulation of Timing, Beat, Vocals and even the PLACEMENT of each Track has been a Wonderful reminder that there are still strange & Glorious Mysteries in this World to be Explored--by ME 🖤 Personally. If I had Any more Tears left to Cry; THIS Entire Album would be covered with tears of Joy & Gratitude. I can't thank you guys enough 💯
I have been listening to Elder incessantly for the past few days now. Their music is a lot like a book. Every time I listen I pick up on a new little thing I didn't catch the other times I listened. Their new album is spectacular and as soon as I can I will be catching a live show and shaking these guys hands. Great music...
@@ofidelisartes innate passage is amazing! Omens is....I don't really see it as Elder. They should've named it differently, like eldovar, or the silver&gold sessions...it's different from the Elder universe. There's song in there that's nice...Halcyon, I think.
I was not a huge Elder fan in the past. I thought that they were ok, but a bit generic. Figured Id give their new album a listen to see what they are up to. So glad I did. There is nothing generic about this album at all! This album is truly GREAT from front to back, and I have started spreading the word. Good music deserves to be supported.
@@lennertcornette Boring?!?!?! Are you kidding me?! "Sanctuary", "Blind" and "The Falling Veil" are Elder's most varied tracks to date! If so I would call "Dead Roots Stirring" or the first record kinda boring and generic. I like them both but the first one is typical Doom with longer jammier songs and "DRS" is typical Stoner Metal without any own character and style. It sounds really similar to "Kyuss" or "Colour Haze" just with longer tracks. Since "Lore" they found their own style and "Reflections of a Floating World" goes even further and adds and puts even more elements to their style. More melody and psychedelia and prog than before but still with heavy doomy riffs. "Lore" is heavyer but "ROAFW" is more complex and melodic.
@@TonyRedgrave1501 Yeah I guess it depends on the genre of metal you like. I hate progressive/symphonic/melodic/heavy/power metal. 'nd "DRS" is typical Stoner Metal without any own character and style' lol, the whole album takes me to a space trip with awesome riffs and much character. Now they just sound like Mastodon but more emo.
the perfection of this album is unmatched. I just came back to it after a few years and I am again blown away. the rhythm guitar harmonies is just exceptional! as is everything else. a masterpiece.
just found out "Reflections of a Floating World" and loved it. Then listened to Spires Burn and loved it. Now I'm here listening to this and thinking 'omg how didn't I found this band early'. They're so awesome.
God damn, this is still a modern fucking classic from them. See them live. I had the beautiful opportunity to see Elder, The Sword and Red Fang on the same stage in one night. I'll never forget the 100's banging heads in unison.
First time listen and yeah... this is a gem for sure. It strikes that near perfect balance of guitar showmanship while delivering solid and at times beautiful melodies. Class job guys!
As Tony said, they don't sing very often & don't really stand out as the best vocalist to exist, however isn't the fact that he knows when to shut up what makes him good?
Its a fantastic piece of music - also really pleasant to listen - ordered and tight but its not by any means boring like so many "order-oriented" bands. Songs are super Epic - they "tell the story" very well - my imagination is going as crazy. So many different tones of guitars all of them interesting, everything fitted perfectly - this album gets a permanent place on my shelf. The most important I almost forgot - it is very original - with potential of starting new branch in Metal.
I bought lore and another album. I listened em about 30 times. This is the fuckin' way, love it, I hope they come in Italy soon, I must thank!! WE MUST THANK AND SUPPORT!!!
I love how I only descovered this band last night and how much I already love them. This is exciting as I know I have so much to listen to that's gonna surprise me and take me on journeys in the future.
Was lucky to see them playing with Earthless last year. Kinda wish they played two separate shows so both of them could play longer! Anyway it was still the best night of my year!
Elder is Alchemy, summoning cosmic atmospheres in ourselves through ethereal arpeggios: binding the fire of the "rock " with the flawless " blue" water of the soul... in constant prog-ression. Hence the "Stone". Magna Opera.
Yeah, Purple is definitely a great continuation of baroness work, a good mix between red, blue and yellow/green. Only the mixing is hard to enjoy without very good speakers But Elder is getting so strong in Lore, so epic, I can't describe it. They improved their sound and filigree. They're composing at a very high level here.
+bunglebee Someone who doesn't like stoner, heh? But it's not only stoner. There are influences of psychedelic, sludge, melodic metal and and and ... that's, what makes it so good.
Mrdrowning245 i like the heavier side of stoner music i guess.. most of these stoner/psyche bands sound too much alike to me.. my fav. stoner album for 2015 would either be goatsnakes' black age blues or acid kings middle of nowhere, center of everywhere.. my favorite album overall would be vhols' deeper than sky
After first two albums this one was a bit of a change for me, I listened it once and didn't rly felt it. But now after a year, DUDE ! When "Legend" starts i remember I'm in love with this band since first album. Go Elder rock on!
FRIGGIN AMAZING!!!!!! Its like the progression I expected from music after the top 25 bands i listened to 25 years ago, but didnt happen ...until 2015. Finally. THANK. FUCK.
I dropped acid to this album with a dear friend in 2016 and the memory of staring at the artwork while the album played and it changing into something more beautiful every every time I blinked will stay with me forever.
