As a senior citizen, and widow I struggle getting the lawn done. I’m embarrassed as I used to have one of the most attractive yards in the neighborhood. Having just over a half acre it’s more than I can handle in a day. Plus I’m desperate for a better riding lawn mower. Bless you for what you do!
I’m at that age where I don’t want to do it anymore and I do it full time for my regular job so now I hire to have my yard cut hahaha to dam old to do it on my own time! 😂
Awesome. If I were that neighbor, I'd watch too. Heck, I watch mowing videos makeovers all the time - I love the transformation. You do great work and I KNOW it made his day. Thank you for giving this neighbor some piece of mind and probably will help cut down on pesky mice and snakes too.
First time I've seen your video, I am impressed! I haven't seen anyone else clean up all that mown grass or take their time with the flower beds as you did. What a great video, I'm really enjoyed watching!
Josh do not let the others get to you! You did the job and it looked fabulous when done! Each one of you guys have your own ways of doing things. It’s the end result that counts! Thanks for what you do! 💕 🇺🇸
What a monumental effort you put into this lawn and garden cleanup! You are one of the few that actually rakes up the grass clippings, instead of leaving them to suffocate the remaining lawn. You left that home looking well cared for instead of the sad state it was in when you arrived.Bravo! I subscribed to your channel. ❤️🇨🇦
I have a suggestion that might be a benefit. When I used to cut such high grass, I would take half a swath, always throwing the cut grass to already mowed area. I hear your mower laboring under the load it's cutting. Three things I observed when using this technique. One, a half swath reduces to some extent the load on your engine. Two, on a sunny day, cut grass begins to lose its moisture as you are cutting the tall stuff. Third by shooting the cut material where you have already mowed, your mower isn't fighting the resistance of downed material while tackling the tall stuff. Hope it works for you. This equipment isn't cheap, nor are repair and down time. Your results look great!
Absolutely beautiful job! I am so impressed! A complete transformation, and it now fits in so nicely with the rest of the neighborhood! Fabulous cleanup! I loved how you got up all of those clippings! Thank you for a wonderful video
I used to have a very able bodied friend who used to let her lawn get like that. She was divorced, and it was a constant argument - between her and her two also able bodied teens - over who would mow the grass ?! While they had the weekly argument, the grass would get longer and longer, and become UNmanageable, just like this lawn got. I helped her about 3 or 4 times - with the cutting, raking etc. It looked great when finished, the way this lawn does. After the fourth time of doing all that work, and knocking myself out, I decided I was being taken advantage of, and nothing else, since they NEVER kept it up.... I never offered my help again - it was NOT my responsibility ! After all, I had my OWN large lot to look after, at home - and I always have done so !
Your are so kind to do this! I understand the neighbor watching you mow it all. That grass was so tall and unsightly for the entire neighborhood; especially for the man living next door. You’re an angel!! 😇😇😇😇👍👍
You did a fabulous job. Thank you for picking up the grass clippings. It always makes a job look finished. That was definitely very high and thick grass. That was sure a lot of drainage out on the street in front of that house. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos thank you.
It should be against the law for any bank that foreclosed on a property to let it get into that condition. This video should be sent to the City Attorney for the city this property is located in, hopefully accompanied by a petition signed by neighbors of this property asking that the bank or financial institution that holds this property be held liable for maintaining it. This is disgusting.
Did all the neighbors donate their wheelie bins so you could dump all the grass clippings? We used to do that in our neighborhood, if someone was cleaning up their yard and our bins were half full, we'd let them put their yard waste into our bin so the cleanup would be easier than making a trip to the dump.
Wow! What a transformation? You turned a wasted Green-acre farm into a liveable homestead again. What a pity no-one lives in it to have the appreciation of your hard labour. Never mind, you did magnificent. Well done.
Beautiful job !! Interested in the back story on why the yard was allowed to grow out of control. Did any of the now happy neighbors offer to help before you stepped in ? Looks like all the other yards are manicured. I'd like to think if this was my neighbor and they needed help I could easily run my mower over their lawn as I am maintaining my own lawn. Weird concept in 2023 being neighborly. Helpful. Selfless.
That grass is tall and thick. Wow. Any time you start something like that, raise your blades to the highest setting. Mow it once then go back over with the setting at 3 or 4. That will keep your mower from struggling to cut. I heard it a lot. Great job on the law
Those guys are the best, I gave one guy a chair, umbrella, and some of my drinks. He said he felt like he was in the vip section of a ballgame. 😂 Good job Josh, you da man
I enjoy your videos, the most because you actually do a cleanup some of the guys in the other videos. They just leave the grass piled on the grass and they do nothing to clean up like you do it’s refreshing to see somebody doing the job, right?
A hay baler wouldn't have been out of place on that yard. LOL. Thank you for what you do and listen to that guy that said mow HALF SWATHS in such tall grass (hay) lol. Your mower will last much longer.
❤I've never seen your channel before but GodBlessYou for being such a kindhearted spirit Whoever owns that home & especially the neighbors to that house can't TY enough You put life back into that property WOW!❤ SUCH A GOOD JOB Can you come do my backyard too 😊
The only issue I have with most of these ride-on mowers, is they tend to flatten the grass rather than straight cut it. Which means having to go back over the same spots twice. I wish there were ride-ons that were compact enough, but utilised those horizontal helix-shaped cutting heads, that way the grass doesn't get flattened as much. It's the style of mower our local council uses and means they can cover far greater ground (or more jobs) in the same time period. All the same, you do an excellent job with the equipment you have - and the results really speak for themselves!! Just a shame that neighbours helping out each other seems to be something of the past these days. They'd rather complain and cause violation notices to be sent, than get their own equipment and tools out and spend an afternoon cutting someone else's lawn. It's frustrating because often you can _see_ that their neighbour is clearly struggling and could do with a hand. And if they're elderly it can be very difficult for them to _ask_ for help when they need it - they were brought up to be self-reliant so sometimes you just need to go round and offer, or even do it first and _then_ inform them (sometimes asking for forgiveness is better than asking for permission).
In the spring I get busy and part of my yard gets this tall. It is better to start with a scythe. Saves wear and tear on the machine. I make hay, rake up the hay and then mow it.
If I watch it during the day, I will turn it on at night to run before sleep...if I wake up any, I peep, see where he is in the yard, know what part he's in, and fall back asleep so then I know I haven't missed anything..lol❤
Mostly concrete, and I don’t really like going in backs without permission anyways. Don’t expect me to go into to many abandoned ones backyards, unless there is just a super wide opening with no gate
Always sad to see a property owner that has lost there home to foreclosure...having been a victim of a predatory lender myself everything you have worked for is lost. Surely every situation is different as to why it was loss. But it's nice to see someone reaching out to clean up these properties. Should be done by the bank but we see here how that goes. Amazing job 😎👍
There is a bank-owned house in my town that has sat vacant for many years. It's wild, overgrown and the house has fallen in. I don't know why the bank didn't put it up for sale years ago.
