@@theatticaddict Did you ever try to play some of the riffs of there's (some not entirely complex, but definetly need some practice for those too), and also the showmanship, the creativity and the underlying meaning behind all. I guess that's the problem today, everyone takes everything at face value and that's why no one can do shit anymore, cause someone will get offended.
@@Inferiis True, their songs may not be very technically difficult in most cases BUT they've been an active band with the same lineup for almost 30 years, playing basically the same style of music and yet their songs never got repetitive or boring, their compositions are amazing and the lyrics have a deeper meaning. They're also always able to pull off some of the best live performances you can possibly experience. That's their real talent which can't be judged based on the technical difficulity of their playing or provocative music videos and that's why what grandpa said is absolute bs.
Du, du hast mich, du hast mich gefraght (you, you have me, you have asked me) i speak a little bit german too, im learning it on school :) i like Du Hast and their kind of art in music, but i think its too much for me, they are very soft about sexual things, but they are very hard with flames and blood, that combination is not good for me😂 horror nightmares... But i still like them, their music is very cool
When I worked in a music shop at the airport, I would play Rammstein when old people came in looking for classical and they would always ask what it was and buy it.
They keep talking about “this generation” and stuff but-most of rammstein’s stuff was popular in the 90’s, it’s no more modern than like nirvana or pearl jam
@@snakey934Snakeybakey The Lyrics do not belong to the music video. Thats what he means and i can agree with him because i am also german . Greetings from Bavaria
"It really doesn't take a lot of talent to do what they're doing" Oh yeah?? I'd like to see you play keyboard while walking on a treadmill, write and play incredible high-speed guitar riffs, or sing competently in a way that would cause a lot of people physical pain. It takes an insane amount of skill to reach this level of fame and recognition in English-speaking countries, and the fact that the band play mostly in German makes it so much harder. I understand not liking this kind of music completely and most others were respectful in their criticisms, but straight up calling one of the most popular metal bands in the world talentless is untrue and unnecessary
If you understand the lyrics, the rhymes and the way he emphasizes the words, the music becomes even better. There are a lot of metaphors and rarely used words in the lyrics, the combination of both is just divine. Sometimes as a german i have to listen to a song five times, because it is so complex to understand the deeper meaning.
And the hilarious part if they didn't have the MUSIC VIDEO to look at it, they'd judge it differently. What music video's ever made sense!? just look at ANYTHING music video related and it's like a feverdream.
@@Olly__Zines-By-Blade And it's an outdated mentality that nudity is somehow perverse. It's how we are BORN. I mean on top of that it's a music video so it's supposed to be evocative and PROVOCATIVE in nature to enhance the experience of the song itself. I've listened to a lot of Rammstein music (Die Sonne is one of my favorites) and I never really imagined the music video'd be... 7 dwarves and a huge snow white. But then again, WITH those visuals, it gaves the song itself another potential way for me to look at it or even just the way I listen to it. It's like saying watching Elvis performance is boring cuz nothing happens and he just shimmies around on stage..... and not even think that back in his time Elvis was about as RIsque as you can get.
That was really entertaining for me, because I'm German and I kinda grew up with Rammstein. My dad showed me this band when I was like...10? It's my favorite band! And I was surprised that one of them even spoke enough German to get the lyrics 😂
Sloth the Bat i was around 6 when i was shown it originally from my father, though I'm from canada and most times needed to search up translations still one of my favorite bands, though I'm currently learning german and has made my life alot easier haha
@@Tysandifer You remind me of this kid with your comment: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eNNv7b9-pbQ.html I can not -and honestly shall not ever- tell you, or anyone, what and what not to say. Although freedom of speech is classier when you take an extra moment to evaluate what you're about to say publicly, whatever your opinion would be. I trust that you are capable of that.
"A little pornographic, but I'm not complaining." I like Roger. He's not a man of many words. But, when he speaks up, he chooses them wisely. Plus, compared to his other (male) fellows, he seems to be very open-minded.
No, Rammstein isnt just the heavy music and provocation. The reason why we listen to them is becouse of the hidden meanings of their Songs. Their all denounce deep problems of our society.
Well, sure, their lyrics & visuals have more depth than is they are given credit for in this video, but I think saying that all their songs denounce deep problems in our society is a bit too much.
"It doesn't take any talent," eh? I wanna see him get up there and play guitar, put on a wide vocal range for singing, or play drums and still sound good.
ay man, an opinion is an opinion just because youre not a director doesnt mean you are entitled to your opinion that a movie sucks since im german i obviously love rammstein, but i think your argument doesnt make sense here my friend no hate man, just trying to share my part
@@ChingelBopDingelFlop but that wasn’t his point, sure I don’t need to be a chef to tell you a shit sandwich sucks, but I need to be a moron to tell you being a chef or doing what they do “doesn’t require any talent”, same thing there with the music.
@@joescannoli7660 but that was exactly his point, since it was based on the fact that he would like to see him go on stage and do the same now we are left with the debate what true "talent" is
The guy saying that it doesn't take a lot of talent to do what Rammstein is doing reaaaally doesn't have a single clue! Till Lindemann is a lyrical genius!
Kinda disappointed that they left out a lot of the "softer" songs and only went for the shock effect. Would’ve been great to see Rosenrot, Keine Lust or ohne dich
The biggest problem I have is that they should explain the meaning of works that aren't understood by the people reacting. Mann gegen mann has really beautiful lyrics behind the clip for example.
Jorge Rico well it depends on your view point what a good reaction is. For me seeing them surprised by a different kind of Rammstein would also be a good reaction
Exactly what I thought haha! 1,2, here comes the sun, 3,4, here comes the sun, 5, she is the brightest star of all Yeah that makes sense with snow-white xD
Catherine is the best. Impeccably dressed, tight bun, looks like the best friend of the queen of england... but she's totally into rock & roll and appreciate Rammestein's music and visuals. I find this awesome.
After watching the 'making of - mein teil' it really puts my view on their talent to a whole new level What they do is art and for these people to really understand it it takes just taking 30 minutes of their lives to dive into these creative minds
@@ConstantChaos1 yeah of course, nearly everyone here speaks at least a bit englisch. But if you really wants to live here you learn the language. Like if i want to live in italy i learn italian.
@@sebastians5690 Yep it's very hard to integrate here without knowing german, and it doesn't even end there, after uve gotten german down you need to learn this thing we call schwiizerdüütsch, whixh is swiss geram, which is essentially german for people who are too lazy to speak out every pronunciation in german :). Ihr chönd ned säge dass ich da ned rächt ha
As a German I was waiting for you to translate some lines for them. I think the lyrics kinda add to the overall experience. Just my humble opinion, I'm impressed by the gentleman knowing some German by the way.
It's funny because the band members are like 15 years younger than these people, but as Americans, we are so fucking sexually/creatively stunted. Bill is awesome.
Mein Herz Brennt was inspired by the concept of The Sandman. The music video is recorded in an abandoned mental hospital and it basically follows kids being held there until they escape.
Tyla Campbell thats true, if you watch rammstein in a musical part is really hard to sing in such a down tone like till lindemann, or play the keyboard in such a good way, it requires dedication and years of discipline
"Doesn't take a lot of talent to do what they're doing." Yeah... let's see all the other bands making music in their mothert tongue have a worldwide audience. No? Can't find one? I guess they just don't have the talent, lol.
I love that Catherine is so cool with metal music. She liked System of a Down. She was into thrash metal. And she's dressed like a grandmother from Adam's family in this video. Love her.
When you have limited reference for something, you can only compare it to what you have heard or know of. Rammstein are a lot closer to Metallica than they are to Fleetwood Mac or Elvis or whatever else.
"I wish I understood what he is saying, that would really help." I don't think it would have helped him if he knew that he is saying: "here comes the sun..."
As a german i love it 😂 but it's a bit sad that you guys didn't get/mention how deep those lyrics are and that most of the videos show some problem in society but besides that i love it 👌🏻
Well, this kinda loses its point when you forget taking a closer look at the lyrics. That‘s where the genius of Rammstein lies, in Lindemann playing with language, his poetic and playful way of expressing and describing things. Leaving it just vague enough for people to allow them to interpret the lyrics in two, three or even more ways and keeping this up throughout the entire song, giving it two, three, four layers of meaning, depending on what you want to hear and how dirty you want it to be. That is pretty much the whole point of Rammstein. Sadly this gets lost when you can‘t understand their lyrics.
