As long as you and your baby are well and happy it doesn't matter how you have your baby. It's nobody's business but yours. As a mummy of 2 section babies all be it they were emergencies I would not change anything for the world. I wish you all the best x x x

I completely understand! I've never even given birth yet the anxiety I get from thinking about it makes me feel ill!! :(

Sounds like an elective section would be best for you. I ended up with an emergency section after failed induction. There was no immediate risk to mine or my daughters life so it was very controlled. My recovery went so much better than i expected. It was a bit of a struggle the first night, trying to get out of bed, holding a baby & a catheter ☺️ But after that it wasnt too bad.

Oh the catheter thing gives me the fear 😂 glad to hear you had a good recovery, my sis said it went much better than she had expected too!x

Aww your little bump is so cute 😍😍 My last scan with Grayson he was back to back to it absolutely Petrified me as so many people told me the pain of giving birth to a back to back baby is horrendous not something I wanted to hear 😫 I wanted a c section but they refused me one luckily he turned and I had a pretty straight forward labour. I hope all goes well for you when the time comes, can’t wait to see Oliver with his little bro or sis bless him 😍😍💙💙

don't listen to anyone else, I had an emergency section first time round and was asleep for the birth of my son it was horrible and left me traumatised. Second time round I had a section date just incase I didn't go in to labour by 39 weeks and yip she didn't want to come so we had the section and I'm so glad I did, just the fact I knew what day I was having my baby plus it's so relaxed on the day no rush for anything. I was so scared to have my second section as I didn't know what to expect due to being a asleep first time round and honestly hand on heart my first words after I delivered and was put to the recovery ward was is that it 🙈😂 I was then out the next day and my recovery was actually really well... Obviously this doesn't happen for everybody I may have just been 1 of many whos experience is like that but do what's best for you no matter what somebody will always have something bad to say about it ❤️ xx

I can really relate, was absolutely traumatised after the pain of the birth with my son and thought how can so many women go through this in this day and age!! I’d say definitely go for elective section or you’ll be full of anxiety which will ruin your pregnancy excitement. Sending love and best wishes to you! Might go for a section myself the next time so I’d be interested to see how things go for you xxx

Thanks Regina! I totally feel the same, I couldn’t get my head around how anyone could enjoy labour or be excited to do it again but I suppose it’s just such a different experience for everyone! I will definitely be doing updates on it xx

I had an emergergy section first time after 2 days induction. Worst experience of my life. Had an elective with my second as I was so traumatised the first time. It was so calm and peaceful. Do what feels right for you, all that matters is that both are happy and healthy. Good luck lovely 😘❤

Had an emergency c-section with my 1st baby (daughter) after a failed 3 day induction, they tried everything! Pessary, broke my waters, stretched my cervix and then put me on the drip to make me contract, after 2 days i was still 2cm! The contractions from the drip were so long, intense and painful that it was actually crushing my wee girl and causing her distress dropping her heart rate. So i was rushed to theatre. Can't remember her section because i was so exhausted mentally and physically. The recovery was honestly agony and it took me a good 3-4 months to feel 'normal'. With our 2nd baby (wee boy) i was all for trying a vbac but due to having gestational diabetes again i was having to be induced at 37 weeks so i had a sweep done to try bring me on and was told my cervix was high, closed and 0cm dilated. All along we were for a vbac until the last appointment. The week leading upto it my partner and i just had an awful gut feeling that induction would go wrong and somewhat like the last time so we opted for an elective section. Ofcourse the drs tried to tell me i was silly opting for a section and to go for a vaginal. But we stuck with our instincts. Low and behold, during the csection both surgeons told us my scar from my first section was paper thin and ready for rupturing. Bare in mind, our baby boy was 8lb12 and 1/2oz at 37 weeks. And i also had alot of excess amniotic fluid because of the diabetes which is called polyhydramnios, so it was alot of weight baring down on my scar. We planned our 2nd when our Daughter turned one. So the scar hadn't time to mature, even though i had been to my doctors and asked for preconceptional advice and they assured it was fine to try and conceive. If i had of experienced any contractions at all let alone those from induction and a drip i was told my womb would of ruptured and God only knows the outcome because myself and my sons life would of been at great risk. Also found out afterwards that i was actually 3cm dilated! And that our son had been trying to make his way down and the pressure caused me to dilate so labour would of been soon. Though they did say there wad noway he'd of made it out down below because my pelvis is so small and narrow and he was a big boy. The elective section was a much better recovery. Still painful, and not a walk in the park. But so much more manageable than the emergency one and because i had a 2 year old at home i just got on with it and kept on top of pain meds. I also took Arnica which helps with internal bruising and healing. Also found out from the surgeons i had bad endometrial scarring and alot og adhesions. The scarring had spread like branches and was stuck to nearby organs and they had to burn it away along with adhesions which wasn't pleasant to smell lol. But all in all, it just goes to show that your gut instinct is always right. There are no medals for birth, aslong as your baby arrives safely into the world that is all that matters! Also recommend getting some peppermint oil tablets for after because the pain from trapped gas give such painful shoulder pain! But they really help. The first 12-24 hours until you can stand is hard because you can't jump to lift the baby for feeds and stuff. But use the buzzer and the hospital staff will help 😊. Try to stand as soon as they allow aswell i think getting up and moving sooner than i did last time helped alot and once you have a shower you feel 100x better instantly. Good luck with everything. You will be fine and whichever birth you choose will be beautiful 💕 xxxx

You don’t get prizes for having a “natural birth” with no pain relief, all that matters is your baby arrives safely! so do what is best for you and baby! I had horrendous heartburn with my son from 4 weeks, in the end I got prescribed omeprasole. It might be worth asking your gp if it gets much worse x

I had a failed induction and ended up with a emergency c-section. I had a elective c-section with my second but it’s because there was 11 months between them both and I also had gestational diebetes. It was way way way more relaxed for me the nurses and surgeons and midwives were great and I had a happy healthy little boy and I recovered loads better. You do what makes you feel relaxed for you and baby 😊 xx

I totally agree with you on the c section choice. 1st pregnancy we are all naive, subsequent pregnancies we know the awful pain ahead. You don't need extra stress or worry. Do what's right for you and forget those who tell you otherwise. Wishing you well and thanks for the updates.

Don’t bother with others opinions on elective C-Sections, you’d worry yourself sick if you didn’t go for it and that wouldn’t be healthy at all. As long as you and baby are okay, who cares what anyone else thinks x

I have had three kids. Two vaginal and the last I had a planned cs due to having had a detached retina (the doctors thought pushing could cause my retina to detach again) all of my births were beautiful! By far the calmest was the planned section and after a few days the pain is okay. As long as you keep on top of your pain Meds you will be fine! I’d recommend getting a nursing chair (our sofa is low) but other than that as long as you take care of your newborn bubble you’ll be just fine. Xxx

You sound really worried and traumatised by your labour and birth lovely. If you are going through this pregnancy already frightened by the labour at the end of it then you should ask for a section. If it is what you want and it will give you the best birth experience then you should definitely go for it. I have had two c-sections, one emergency (horrific experience and recovery) and one "elective" as my son was breach (I was doing the school run on day 5). You are looking beautiful by the way xx

Love your videos.. I feel like you shouldn’t have to explain your self hun, please don’t listen to the horror story’s. I tried to have a normal relaxing birth but that did not happen ending up having an emergency c section and I am so glad that I had it, I was in labour for 4 days it was so bad. I’m definitely going to have an elective c section next baby. When you speak to your midwife you’ll get more of an idea what you want to do xx

I was induced due preclamsia at 38 weeks and it failed. After 4 days (never had a single contraction) the consultant wanted to try and induce me again and I refused and asked for a c-section. That same afternoon I had my little girl in my arms. Everything went very smooth and I did recover quite quickly ☺️ I can see you know the pros and cons of csecs so is all good! I don’t see absolutely anything wrong with planning the C section, if anything, is less traumatic for the baby! I hope it all goes well for you and looking forward seeing the next update ☺️ x

I had an elective c section with my first baby as he was breech position and couldn't be turned. The reason I chose to have it was that I had a friend who was a nurse who had just gone through a breech birth and her baby nearly died. Some of the nurses were not very nice as I had chosen to have the c section. Even though I kept telling them I was in pain they didn't check the wound and just told me it was the staples pulling a bit. I was sent home and after a few hours I stood up and the wound split partially open. I rang hospital while almost passing out and was told to come back to be checked. I had a very serious staff infection and spent 3 days back in hospital and then had fluid draining from the wound for the next month. Next baby I had a trial of labour but my sons heart rate dropped to 7 so emergency c section. This time felt amazing within a few weeks and with my daughter was given no choice and had a 3rd c section which went quite well. I did get a small infection but just had to take antibiotics to clear it up. Everyone has a different experience so just think carefully. The pain when you have to get out of bed the first time after the c section is pretty terrible but gets easier each day. Wishing you all the best. xx

Ahh I do feel for you specially when you didn't have a nice experience,and then when you know 2nd time round what's coming it can make you more stressed. My best friend was a surrogate for me and although she had 3 natural births with no complications before she always said I want a c section if I do this. Fortunately we had a lovely consultant who sympathised and agreed to do it. She also wanted a G/A so she didn't know anything about it because she was terrified of the epidural and they agreed. So my husband and I just waited outside theatre and Harry was brought out to us after about 29 minutes as he was a bit unresponsive and his sugar levels were low,but we took him home the next day,so all was good. She thought the c section was far better than giving birth vaginally and she only had painkillers for two days 😳. I'm on omeprazole for acid reflux and it is very good. It's a good bump already isn't it. Xx

My cousin had an emergency section with her first and then elective c sections with her last two. If you feel like an elective caesarean is what's best for you then that's what you do. You're the one having the baby, so what you decide is what is right. Can't wait to find out what Baby Wells #2 is and I'm so excited for your wedding!

Hi. If your heart burn and indigestion gets worse you can get prescribed ranitidine from your midwife or doctor. I got it with my last pregnancy as gaviscon wasn't working and the heartburn was making me sick and unable to eat. Xx

I had to have a C-section due to pre eclampsia and I was terrified of it BUT it was absolutely fine. Surprisingly SO relaxing and the midwives etc are really reassuring and chat away to you. I would 100% do it again. No stress, no wondering when babys coming (only bad part is the pain but that's what pain killers are for!).. So I would say go for the elective section if you want to do it! :)

Hey 👋 I’ve had an emergency section and extremely traumatic birth with my first baby and was planning an elective section with my second but went into labour the day before the section. Yes it was excruciatingly painful but I can honestly say the vbac recovery was so much better than the section. I had a serious wound infection in my c section and was very unlucky it took 4 months for my wound to stop weeping sorry tmi 😬 but don’t rule out a natural birth you may feel differently nearer the time, I’m so glad I never had the second section. But everyone is different so do what’s best for you!! Xxx
@EilidhWells
@EilidhWells 6 лет назад
Thank you! From everything I’ve read and people I’ve spoken to they’ve all said an emergency section recovery is always much harder as your body has been through so much more, whereas a planned section is a lot less traumatic! My recovery after labour was awful, so it’s just the risk of going through that again. Glad your second birth worked out well for you, it must have been a sign that you went into labour early! Baby made the best choice! ❤️

Ahh poor you, you still have a load of time to decide but do what you think is best for you and your family (they sorted mine at 37w for 38w date) I had a section with my daughter for a couple of reasons and it was a lot better than I thought, I healed well and was up walking about 4 hours afterwards. Not going to lie, the afterpains and belly injections aren't great but other than feeling a bit exposed with a lot of people in surgery it was calm and under control which was great. It sounds like it would be a good choice for you and you've considered it well - try not to read into horror stories or what others think, you know what's best for you! All the best lovely x

I had an emergency section with my son as I had complications during labour, the thought absolutely terrified me but it had to be done to get him out and it really wasn't as bad as id imagined. When I fell pregnant with my daughter I opted for an elective section so I actually chose to do it again!! The reason being because I didn't dilate past 3 centimetres after 16 hours of contractions with my first and there was a good chance of it happening again. Sections sound so scary but they really aren't, you don't feel a thing and the nurses and doctors make it as easy and calming for you as possible, my other half even watched it the second time 😂. Don't be scared trust me it isn't a bad horrific experience! Just maybe a longer stay in hospital than a natural birth, all the best! Ps I'm from Scotland too and love your channel ❤ x
