You could probably buy two or three 69's for what HD is charging for this "Icon." If they want to make money, bring back the FXR. FXR's and Dyna's are the younger generation bikes, not baggers. It is a beautiful bike though.

haha exactly! They toss in marketing words to build up the "significance" of this bike just to make up for sales. I agree! Think if they did a firesale every other year where all pricing on cruisers and below (even select lower trim level baggers) dropped 5k but required minimum 1 year ESP and wheel and tire as well it would be more around 3k promo pricing and people can get into FXBBs for sporty pricing, more people would buy sporties at like 6-9k, and baggers would be priced around the FXLRS/FXFBS. exactly! With some of these trim levels of Harleys I think its geared for those who collect things. Maybe have a couple older truck/car models and they had a harley back in the day and this is for them to have it in their garage and ride it to car/bike shows every so often. But overall - I agree. WAY too much money and priced WAY Too high for what it is. Maybe if there was a hype built prior - maaaaaybe but even then probably not. Thanks for watching Brendan! Let's take the seat, bags and fairings off of the Police issued motorcycles (standard OEM color as well), toss them on a touring frame and call it a throwback. While we're at it, only make a limited number and call it 30G's. The spoke rim is the only item I can think of that is original and not shared with any other bike, maybe the seat cage as well, not sure if cop bikes come with them as well. As far as Polaris, Indian goes, I've never been one to even try to compare the two. Of course Indian needs to build faster bikes out the door with more accessories for less, how else would they compete but in my eyes, Polaris will never hold a candle compared to Harley. The bike is nice, just not my cup of tea for that price point. I'm surprised it took Harley this long to create Retro style bikes. Finally, I don't think Harley is focusing on the younger demographic anymore, there isn't anymore fat to trim from the new Softail Standard and you're still looking close to 20g's when said and done and Sporty's have always been just what they are. Newer generations seem to be more attracted to the stunt or race side of Harley, which drives purist's nuts lol but to each's own. Great video Connor, it was entertaining.

Who asked for this? The people want battle baggers, cop fairing softails, 21” front wheel adventure bikes/scramblers. This is insanity.

right?! Crazy priced! I would understand if it was an electra glide with ohlins front and rear suspension, full fxrt fairing, maybe upgraded motor components like cam along with the 114, but for a rather simple bike "repop" its wild! Thanks for watching!

@@ConnorFXDB exactly! If BMW or Honda did something like this they would hear no end of it. If Harley wants to connect with the “younger generation” they should draw inspiration from the bikes said generation are modding their harleys into.

it would be neat to see them come out with some more pre-built bikes at a slightly lower cost. The new FXLRS is a good example at something they do right because it has dual disc, inverted, ABS, etc. If they were to come out with a similar concept for a bagger and come out with their electra glide S with inverted and more performance oriented, I could def see that selling!

I think you're right it sounds right regarding the number made. Ya think this is geared for those who buy CVOs and have the interest in "limited runs" but there isnt much special about this to me. Maybe if they took a piece from the original 1969 ones or recreated some and incorporated them into these new revivals. That might make it a little more interesting. You dont see Ford repopping their Shelby Cobras and doing "limited runs" Kudos for them for trying but def feel they missed it with this one. They are right back where they were - STUCK

Harley are smoking some bad stuff.... "Hey I found a bunch of old trim and parts from the original Electraglides. They've been yelling that we ran away from the traditional Harley owner so let's build some old bikes!" One thing I've always said, boardroom talk can be so dangerous. Lol.

Random Guy: we have a bunch of old catalogs of the electra glides from 1969 Random other Guy: dude! thats a cool icon on that photo Harley: THATS IT! LETS CALL IT THE ICON COLLECTION. REVIVE THE OLD BIKES AND JUST CHARGE 10K MORE! *room erupts in applause* lol its a nice looking bike but def dont see the price justification of it.

hahaha exactly! Its a small accent that will help add a nice overall progression forward while still paying tribute to its roots.
