Thanks r beny for making this available. Would you ever consider doing a video on how you make an ambient song from scratch, step by step? I've only had my Electribe for a month or so, and am having problems figuring out the workflow (and I know I'm not alone). I am particularly interested in ambient and this seems like the perfect machine for it, but I'm not getting the concept. You'd be helping a lot of noobs out here if you would provide a play by play. Thanks in advance for your consideration.
man if the electribe got firmware updates from korg like the novation circuit gets by those guys (another released just last month) it would be so insane.. still feel this little box of amazingness could have so much more
+Patrick Richardson It would work on the synth voices of the E2S. For samples, it would depend on the sample and where the starting and end points were. When I had an Octatrack, it was hard to get drones perfect with samples, I can't imagine it being easier on the E2S.
with hardware, what i do is buy used in excellent condition on ebay, you save an awful lot of money off the retail price and the best bit is that if it's not for you; you can simply resell it and expect approximately the same value back again. I used to buy all my hardware brand new and as you probably know there is no such thing as a "be all and end all" instrument so i was losing a lot of money when it came to resale. It's the best way to own or trial a lot of hardware because the only way you know if it's for you is to use it yourself. RU-vid reviews are only a small example of a piece of equipment and sometimes they are poor reviews so just buy one and see. I just did, for the money this looks to be very good indeed. Even the elektron rytm has similar flaws to the electribe which i was very surprised about. Thats the challenges with hardware but i wouldnt have it any other way, i hate DAWs
I live on ebay, just look at one of my vids LOL ;) You are sooo write about no perfect instrument, they all have their flaws. What you can live with is the answer to what you should get. After some bad tastes in my mouth, I am a little more cautious these days.
is there any way to get this to work across pattern switches? i have a duplicate pattern but when i switch to it the decay of the first is cut, presumably because it has to retrigger the envelope for itself since it's not true polyphony - is there any way around this? my drone is very simple, it's 2 synth parts but only one plays at a time, the first for 1.5 bars with one chord and the 2nd for 1.5 bars with the next chord and the last bar just decays slowly - it takes several seconds to stop sounding if i hit stop - anyways this all sounds great but if i change to my 2nd pattern it abruptly cuts off the drone and restarts it
+kassie2k4 To get around it, just try having a lot of delay and reverb on (the same on each pattern). That might do it, but sadly there's no great way to do that.
Hi again how do you create a pad with a long sort of cosmic whoosh or long delay that when triggered actusly plays out its full legnth without holding it down? I created some nice long delays but when playing the pattern it only plays the pad as a one hit? Cheers rob
will it work in pattern chain mode though? (if you need to) as it probably won't :( ... i'm on latest firmware and pattern change on chain still has a gap! :( disappointed
Have you ever downloaded the 1.15 update for the popping and clicking noise bug? If so, does it solve the issue? I am not good with computers and knowing how to update stuff, which really sucks. Thanks.
i did, it does help quite a bit. i remember it was pretty bad before this update. unfortunately it's been so long since i did the update, i can't recall how it's done.
i try but i dont get it ? when i press the record button and then press the pad, the record beginning to recorded ? and you when you press the record button the record dont start ?
drouk22 i dont understand because sometime it work i have the continuous sound but when i want to put the sound in memory....using.....the write button... after when i listening using the play button the continuous sound as disappear ? the sound only last a second ?
r beny its ok now i have my continuous sound thank you again ! what i want to know now is: how you connect the 2 machines ? the minikaoss pad2 and the electribe ? i want to be able to record my creation from the electribe to the micro sd card from the minikaosspad2
drouk22 very strange! Every time I ask how to connect the minikaosspad2 and electribe everyone disappear my question is kind of taboo or something ??? I love music all I want is to understand ... is it too much to ask ??
when you go from 1 bar to 4, it copies the first bar to the new 3. if you want it to be different, you have to erase the sequence and do it again for the 4 full bars.
Thanks for your reply. I just wanted to say, when you start with 4 bars, your method does not seem to work. It only does when the length = 1, and you set it to 4 afterwards.
