4:13 You get shock only when your switchboard is not having good earthing connecting in your house, place where u are using this tandoor. It's nothing to do with tandoor actually.

Traditional one is better, electric bbq was made for convenience and if you want convenience then just use oven/tandoor or on a stove.

Light a small charcoal in a small plate and then place it in the tray, maybe that would work, else that flavour would not come logically, because this is just heat from the setup and that flavour normally comes from the charcoal fire
