"Hypa Hypa" was the first song after Nico (singer; clean vocals) joined their band. "Hate/Love" is the other one. "Hypa Hypa" itself spawned a number of "remakes" by other German bands. Electric Callboy started a challenge back then, to try to mix this song with other genres. So there is a lot of additional fun surrounding this song available.
It might be odd to say, but they make the screams sound pleasant in a way. With the way they layer it at times and Kevin's screams in general. I don't normally listen to music with screams, but I'm having a great time with EC.
Electric Callboy are the most entertaining band in the world right now, not put out a bad song in last 3 years and live shows just a massive rave of metal & EDM riffs that fill audiences with a euphoria 😃🤘
This the band that made me start to appreciate harsh/unclean/screamed vocals! Pump it or Every Time We Touch would be fun next! Or if you enjoy the naughty lyrics, Tekkno Train ;)
You're the first ones who noticed the contrast in the lyrics between soft and harsh vocals. Nice catch! I would strongly recommend also looking at "Arrow of Love". It's just so wholesome. :-)
So now you've done this song now you have the SEVEN covers of this song by a variety of artists (with features from the band too). A good starting place is the Hypa Hypa version by Saltatio Mortis (a German folk metal band) Hypa Hypa with bagpipes and hurdy-gurdy LOL ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AOpHFHCko3s.html and the version with Sasha (a German pop singer who sang at Pink's wedding) Hypa Hypa at the roller rink ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OChI5fsBqtU.html Enjoy!
Easiest thing to call those kinds of vocals is just unclean vocals. Be it screams, fry screams, growls, gutturals, pig squeals etc. It's a good catch all term.
