I am a big believer that changing it up from time to time is needed to keep things interesting. Sure, the funny songs and videos are more interesting, but if they do that all the time it will get stale very fast. So I like seeing them do something like this from time to time. Also I think the video is just great for what it is. Insane custume design and make-up by Kami Zero.

I'm a big fan of current EC bc of Nico, his voice is what got me into EC (bc memorable /memorable for me/ vocals is what keeps my attention on a band for more than just a song), so I do treasure every song they've recorded with him. That said, I do agree w what you're saying, it's not that their serious stuff is bad, I love it, but the comedic songs are on a level of their own.
