Great Video! I just got a F1b Standard Goldendoodle, he's 2 months old. When did you start using this collar? did you use it for commands etc? Unless I missed that part in your vide lol. Just order this same collar using your link.

I’ve ordered it, should arrive tomorrow. I’ve got to figure out something or I’ll be finding a new hone for this sweet and expensive pup. My hub works from home, I’m a housewife with errands to run sometimes and I can’t leave him without him crying and barking and disturbing my hubs important conference calls. 😬☹️

You're 100% on the spot. I have a Jack Russell maniac barker. He had 5 (not one, FIVE) different trainers. None of them could fix the barking nightmare, spend a lot of cash on those lessons and 6 months of training. Positive reinforcements did not work on my dog. Finally, the last trainer offered me a sportdog brand sbc-r bark collar. Problem fixed, he behaves now, the shocks are not necessary, he knows. People are worried about the shock. It's a static shock, not an electricity shock with amperiums. It's the same static when you shake hands or when you take off a sweater made with synthetic fibers. It is not animal torture. A lot of dogs are euthanized and abandoned because of barking issues. It's not cruelty, use your brain.

yes people underestimate how many dogs we as humans get rid of cause of the simple fact that they are untrained/neglected by humans honestly every one i have seen getting into e collars does it out of love for there animal and to have that extra way of communication specially on longer distances

I think what dog lovers need to learn to do what works for them. Dog lovers aren't lovers if they don't balance their dogs. My neighbors dogs bark excessively, pull them, never ever listen, and the dog dragged her dislocating my neighbor’s shoulder. So forget the haters, let them hate. You are still a lover of dogs, because you’re still trying to keep your dog balanced. Lastly, haters are controlling, and try to make you feel bad.

Hi Tamiko, have you used this product to control barking. I have a beautiful goldendoodle (4 years) who is nippy with children and a barker. Wondering if this could help. Thanks, Cris
@SunFlower-x3
@SunFlower-x3 4 года назад
Christine Haskell Yes it’ll work if you use it correctly. You have to catch them in the act then, verbally tell them to stop three times, then vibrate him. Your dog is only slightly disrespectful, the nipping is bad but the barking you can control. You can’t let him beat you to doors and windows, but if he reach doors or windows simply remove him and make him sit. I’ve trained my 2 like that. You’ve got to stop spoiling him, and give him love by walking him, directing him, then the love and cuddles. He’s not loving you so much but protecting your insecurities, fears, nerves, and whatever else that you have going on. You are giving love love love and no boundaries, and that’s harming children and I feel you are better than that. You can love a dog w/o spoiling it rotten.

Because they’re scared of doing the behavior you don’t want them to do. Imagine if you run away or get really mad easily, and when you get mad or something you get shocked. Imagine you get shocked because your parents won’t properly teach you why you can’t go somewhere or do something. You people are stupid
@Julietsg
@Julietsg 3 года назад
@@iexisttoo5859 Comparing dog v human and human v human communication as if they’re the same is idiotic. But if you want to go there, I never ran away because my parents set boundaries and rules. Dogs should also be set with boundaries and rules, some more difficult than others and need different methods than just “positive reinforcement”.

I got the same collar for my dog. She is a hunting dog to so I took her to the beach for the first time and she was good off leash but she saw birds and took off running. I tried recalling her but she was to focused on the birds so I thought I need to train her more. I got the collar to help stop her from chasing animals while we are in a walk. I only beep her when she shows like she is going to go after a bird or squirrel. I vibrate her when the beep doesn't work and then only shock when she starts to run off even when I try recalling with a treat and she still doesn't come. My dog has gotten better and not focusing on distractions and focusing on me while saying commands.

if it didn't't work your doing it wrong or didn't try at all or maybe your very lazy - so don't get a dog if your think of harming one what shock collar dose to a dog it would made the dog have anxiety and be very aggressive - also most shock collar that are use could fry the dog neck with burn marks just so you know
@NikkieRoxxx
@NikkieRoxxx 2 года назад
Sorry, but im old fashion. Positive reinforcement sounds to me that if you want your dog to do somethong, you need to bribe it with a treat. I.e; your dog eats shit. Say "leave it" and then it eats a treat instead. One day when you start running out of treats, it might think "sod it, im eating the brown matter again"

We ordered this one as our starter ecollar. It seems to be working great. When it stops I will order the mini educator or dogtra arc as the replacement. We also train with a herm sprenger prong collar for loose leash walking. It’s all about finding the tool that works with your dog and that you are kind when using.

I said no to electric collars for so long. But my dog kept getting out of the yard. The other day she got out and bit my neighbor. My neighbor is okay. But I had to pay for the doctor bill. I decided I had no other choice but to buy the collar. I only use the vibrate and it has worked like a charm.

Thank you for being honest about these collars. I have a 6 month mastiff puppy who eats stones and I need to create an aversion to picking up stones, I am hoping that by using the beeping and buzzing modes I can stop her from doing this. I don't want her to have an intestinal obstruction.

My dog is so great in the house, outside - different dog. She’s awful. Bolts out the door, takes off into the woods, runs the road! It’s horrifying and so stressful. We got an in ground fence and she did so well, but of course her pray drive takes over and she’s gone at any sign of a squirrel or rabbit! She bolts through without a care! We leash her ALL THE TIME! She got out the door yesterday and killed our pet rabbit that was out enjoying the grass 😩🥲 traumatic experience! My husband is done and wants to rehome her. I am devastated! She’s almost 5 and inside she’s my sweet loving girl, but outside she’s a train wreck! I am trying to do anything I can to keep her. I’m going to try this collar! I’m so thankful I found this video and these comments!

I just bought an e collar for my golden retreiver she's about 10 months old and same as your dog absolutely refused to come in spite of using only positive reinforcement with treats. I only use vibrate or beep and she comes NOW! Not later or when she feels like it and the difference in her behavior is night and day. I watched several videos on RU-vid before trying it. I had bought it and hesitated to use it at first but after having to trail her to get her to come back she comes every single time. Due to the e collar she no longer has to be crated unless we are not home and she is a pleasure to have her around. I would tell anyone who is at wits end to try one with the realization that you may never have to use the static part. It's not inhumane to help your dog learn to come it's absolutely the most important command they need for their own safety. Thanks for a well done review!

This is one of the best video I've seen, I just bought a Dr.Trainer Dog Training Collar for my German shepherd. This Training Collar has auto retractable and will not cause irritation to my dog's neck. Also I can record my voice to the system, I can use my voice recording to train my dog, say goodbye to the traditional beep sound for good. So far it seems really effective. All I do is pressing the voice recording button to correct my dogs behavior. We hardly have to use the shock setting.

It's great to hear an average dog owner talk about their experience with the electric collar. Especially with the other things not just the stim. On the whole the vibrate is actually more aversive to the dig than the stim setting up to about 50%. A lot of the time people will go mental over the use of the "shock collar" without ever actually seen a dog with one on!!

We have this exact same collar for buddy and it has worked wonders for him running straight to the neighbors 🤣! They’re well into their 80s and he loves them. So once he sees them he makes a bee line to them. But now with this collar I’ll beep it or vibrate it and he stops dead in his tracks. I have never used the shock...we keep it on 00 since you can’t lock just the shock function (that was my only gripe with this collar).

Thanks for posting. I have a 8 month old German Sheppard lab mix. Like your dog her nose is always to the ground following a scent and becomes none responsive to commands. She becomes over excited and reckless when she sees another dog. She pulls and jumps in an attempt to run to the other dog. This eventually led to her breaking her leg when she jumped up lunging forward and choked and landed sideways because she was on leash. After costly surgery and follow ups I have decided to try an e collar for her own safety. Haters are gonna hate but I'm doing what is best for her. I hope I get the positive results from this as you did.

We just got our 7 month old a collar. I feel bad and have not used the shock part. But he is a hound and same thing, he gets to smelling and I can not get him to listen. He is almost very strong and at the dog park I can not get him under control. I am that lady that will be chasing my dog around and it’s all on his time. The last straw was when he went after another dog to play outside the gate and I dropped the leash and he got tangled up with another dog and that owner had a broken arm…and his dog was trying to get away from my dog 😢 I felt so bad and literally had to chase my dog to get him away from the other dog. So I bought one.

Have had or been around dogs all my life. Recently got a rescue lab/boxer mix. She's an incredibly fast learner, being food motivated and liking her reward treats helps. And she LOVES people! An absolute cuddle bug! Two down sides, 1-She's a bed hog, (I learned to sleep on the floor in the fetal position j/k). 2- She doesn't do well with other 4 legged animals! Had several leash encounters with our neighbors and had my lab "Kitty", not been in her harness and the neighbors pit leashed, it would have been a mess... Then I took Kitty to the dog park but didn't go in, stayed behind another cyclone fence to see how she would react... Same thing! This 70 pounds of muscle wanted to tear through that fence. I asked two of the passing people how they got their dogs to walk so well without a leash, and not even flinch at Kitty. They both said their dogs used to be the same, very aggressive towards other dogs. And now, both had e-collars! I wash Shocked! :) These dogs were so well behaved they could have won awards. AND... Both said they don't even use the shock button anymore. They either use the beep or the vibrate! 10:00 that night took Kitty for her evening walk and 30 seconds into her walk a big white cat was near our bushes and Kitty Freaked Out! I'm 6ft 3in. and held on for all I could! The rest of her walk she was very unresponsive to heal, sit, cross, or wait. All she wanted was to do was sniff out and hunt down that cat! Got home, went on line to check out e-collars, went to Amazon and got one like Dreamflight Girl has. In the mean time, I remembered I had a noise light for dogs also from Amazon. It has a couple high pitched tones, flashlight mode and blink mode etc. (I was told "that so mean). The next morning took Kitty on our walk and she picked up right where she left off, hot on that cats trail until... I gave on quick zap with the sound thingy and it rewired her brain to listen again! I really was amazed! I've only used the sound thingy a couple times since then as Kitty is back on track and well behaved. I've had the e-collar for almost a week and still haven't used it. I will though as it's a great teaching tool as many vids will attest. I like the fact for emergencies if you gotta use the "stim" treatment, it's there. But sound and vibrate are there as tools as well. And if it's noisy, dogs will feel the stim. Great vid Dreamflight Girl!

Shock collars can create fear, anxiety and aggression in your dog toward you or other animals. While they may suppress unwanted behavior, they do not teach a dog what you would like them to do instead and therefore should not be used
@actiondisplays
@actiondisplays 2 года назад
Hi Sally, You said it correctly, "can" (or may) create fear..." Any tool "can" create fear if not used correctly. John Madden was afraid to fly, it created anxiety in him. I know people afraid to drive, or use power tools, be around guns or any other host of examples. The point being, anything if used wrong can eventually create fear and anxiety. Plenty of vid's show the correct way to "teach" utilizing the best tools available. The gal in this vid said her dog didn't respond to anything but the e-collar and voila'. The tool was used correctly as she corrected the dog and taught it the correct behavior... Much like when a driver hits the rumble strip on the road, it corrects the drivers behavior. So to "Dogmatically say" (pun intended), that the collar "should not be used" is only limiting ones self to the tools available. -Mike

I have used an electric collar myself, & I feel there is a place in training with one in specific circumstances. I only had to use it once along with verbal command, & the dog stopped his behavior. Also, as a school bus driver I had a dog chasing the bus every morning. I got a high pitched electric buzzer that dogs hated the sound of. After a week, he stopped chasing me. I do not advocate the use of these types of training devices as a first resort, or without a lot of reading about how they work because they can cause bad behavior if not used properly. Education about proper use is very important.

I got the same collar reluctantly after binge watching and training Zak George and it didn't work with certain behaviors at all, particularly counter surfing and paws on the counters/tables. Mine hated the vibrate more than the shock (only shocked once on the VERY lowest setting) so now the vibrate is like the only thing we use and in 5 days I've maybe used it 5-7x. My doodle is so sweet and loving, but goofy, curious and stubborn too. I felt so guilty/torn and like I failed him but just a couple times of the vibrate and he learned things that he wasnt learning in 14 months of intensive training. I do feel like I learned a ton from Zak George and can use his methods 70% of the time but that other 30% he is just so stubborn to do it his way, until a couple vibrates. And he knows, if he doesn't listen to the beep, the vibrate will be coming so it was really easy for him to learn to cooperate just on the beeps.

I scrolled through about 75 comments and saw no hate so I guess I’ll have to do the heavy lifting here. How would you like it if somebody punished you if you acted in a manner which was harmful to yourself or to those around you…oh wait…EVERYONE (dogs, humans and wild animals) are subject to an unpleasant experience if they their actions need to be extinguished. The simple fact is that there is a role for punishment in learning. You can’t just pull out Fluffers favorite toy or treat when you catch him going to town on your shoes and expect to curb him to learn not to do that again. Basically, I think all the losers who would find fault with someone who cares about their pet enough to responsibly train that pet should STFU and go home and make their bed (those who judge the most usually have the most reasons to be ashamed). The End.

Thank you for the explanation of this collar. I just bought a puppy. He is doing well, but I am fearful of him going to the road. With my larger dog we used a radio fence, but I want my smaller dog to walk with me around our farm, not just stay in my yard.

I might look into this. We did use a pet sonic device for our big dog (shepard/coonhound). She has such anxiety she scares everyone. It is a blue box that sends a sonic noise when we push the button. My sin has a harmonica in a blue box and all we have to do is pick that box up and she thinks it is the sonic box and stops lol. Dogs are sooooo smart!!!!!!

We have 2 Bull terriers and that collar has also been life changing. We put our 1st dog in school and they told us there was no hope for him he was always going to to be wild. So one of my friends let me borrow her collar and boom we had a completely different dog. I never thought there would be a day I could take him out and about without him pulling and yelping trying to get at every dog he sees but with that collar it is possible.

Great job in explaining! I know there are a lot of people that dont like e-collars, and Im sure theres a lot of people that abuse them. But if used properly they are a great tool that could save a dogs life. I too live on a gravel road that is not too busy. Most of the time you could play in the street. But there's the few random cars that FLY by and its insane! (Have to put it out there that UPS and FedEx are the worst!) Unfortunately I had a dog that liked to chase things and she chased after a car one day, got hit and it killed her. Was the saddest day of my life! It could've been prevented with a fence, underground fence or even your e-collar. I spent a lot of time training her and she would come when called very consistently so we didn't bother with a fence. But she got fixated on the chase and wouldn't come. So PLEASE everyone, dont take the chance. No matter how well behaved or trained you think your dog is...they are still a dog and will succumb to instincts. Its our responsibility to make sure they are safe. Wish I hadnt learned that the hard way. Use the tools guys!

I needed this video. I have a female 1 year old mini aussie shepherd. Love her to pieces. Smart as a wip. My issue is when she goes out her dog door into her fenced yard she barks at everything that moves. She comes when I call her but then out she goes and barks her head off. I am upstairs and I can hear her. I am so over running downstairs and tell her no barking. I need this.

I was given an 8 week old "puppy" in early Dec. because I was told the owners couldn't take her & her siblings to a shelter because the shelters are all full. I had no previous knowledge of her breed, Blue Heeler (ACD) 3 months later, my life is a living hell, my arms and legs and hands look like hamburger meat, and the inside of my once "nice" vehicle is utterly DESTROYED! 😫 Ive had dogs ALL MY LIFE, but never , ever seen anything like this dog in my life! NO leash can contain her, she even chews on metal chain leashes. NO muzzle made that she can't take off in 2.3 seconds! The incessant barking is eardrum piercing and causes temporary hearing loss. My other dog , a small min pin is traumatized. Im at the end of my rope and sanity with her. I can't take her to any place because she's a BITER they will most likely put her down 💉 🐕 😱😭 I actually do LOVE this dog or she wouldn't still be with me. This collar is her ONLY hope 🙏🥺 Im praying that it works for everyone's sake!

Thinking about getting this, my dogs are great just one problem... We CAN'T HAVE COMPANY OVER. They constantly bark, and even go for their ankles. If were outside they behave for the most part, even sit at their feet. Inside forget it we have to put them in my room for our guest to pass through to other rooms in the house. Also, potty training. They seem to know that the bathroom is the main option for 1 & 2. They seem to go and then they will go other places in the house, one of them lately has been going in our room and we've been trying to keep it closed, but she beats us to it. My question is why are they drawn to the bathroom then they don't want to.

Also one thing to note, you want to collar right enough that you can only slip 2 fingers under it when it is on. That way you ensure the prongs are making contact with the dog and that way you can run your collar at a low level

I am considering using a shock collar for my dog, for only one specific behavior. He goes 100% (ignore the world), bonkers, barking and fence running with the neighbors dog. You have to catch him (if you can), and physically drag him away. He has hurt himself running up and down the fence, getting a cut on his nose. I hate the idea of using a collar, but I don't want to see him get hurt.

I’m not against e collars. I believe in them 100% when used correctly. It’s great that she can be off leash. But remember there will be times when she needs to be on leash and know how to behave on leash. If you go to the vet or take her anywhere in public. So remember to also practice your heel training and leash manners. Because it’s just as important as her coming to you off leash.

The first step in training a dog is to establish that YOU are the pack leader. How to: Make the dog lay down, Roll the dog onto its back. Put your hand on the dogs throat, loom over the dogss face, bare your teeth and growl at the dog. The dog must tip its' haed back and expose its' throat. This is a reflex in every dog. It means I surrender, you are the boss. If the dog dose not expose its' neck, lightly choke the dog until it does bare its' neck.
