Worked well for 9 months running continuously on mains, internal temperature 12-14 C below outside. Then the hot/cold switch burnt out. (symptom neither light on) Back in service now, I've removed the switch and wired the "cold" contacts permanantly. A bit of a fiddly job. Will see how long it goes now. Haven't tried it for warming things but I can't imagine a reason for using it that way
I've just bought one, and am testing it now. I put the remote semsor from a weather station inside it, and closed the lid Exactly 1 hour later, the room temperature is 23.3 Centigrade, while the temperature inside the box is 8.2 Centigrade.
Update - It's now 2 hours into the test, and the readings are 23.2 Centigrade in the room, and 3.7 Centigrade inside the box. EDIT: It ultimately got down to 2.5 degrees, at about 3 hours running.
@@BedsitBob I am thinking of buying this one, I see it in Lidl and Kaufland under different brand names. I guess it is just a white-label product. I appreciate it if you can answer my questions so I decide before I buy it. Was the info you posted on max or eco? Was it on home electricity or 12v car socket? Also, did you try it on a car socket? And how did it hold up after a few hours?
I bought this lidl cool box this summer i wasn't happy with it, when i on in Maine at home it works for some time then started again it didn't work but in the car it works good, i got a replacement from lidl but still the same issue, its a pity i cannot used it at home for my bbq party
I do alot of camping and have1 total crap if it's on mains in house it's OK but on 12v its useless loses temp once switched of it just fades rapid loses all cold rapid buy a halfords one bit dearer but much better
I just got one as a present. After just 5 minutes of running on max, there was a noticeable change of temperature inside the coolbox (haven't measured it) so it is possible that something is wrong with your coolbox.
Ended up taking it with us camping did it’s job tbf. Kept things cold enough but not ice cold. Unsure if I would store meat for several days. But perfect for drinks, milk etc
