Took my brand new Battle II 5000 for a spin yesterday for the very first time and I hooked a 20lb yellowtail using a Ugly Stik X2 (medium hard) rod ru-vid.comUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . This combo was recommended on some website and it did not disappoint me. The reel is smooth, the drag click is pretty cool cause i think it adds to the excitement of fighting the fish, personally the drag is my favorite part. I use braid and 300 yards will fill the entire spool. This combo is my main setup from now on although I have to disclose I am new to fishing.
Mr Alex how wonderful! Could you tell me what materials were used? I have a friend who suffered A.V.C. and he lost the movements on his left side and this invention of his would be amazing to get him fishing again.
Hi Alex, i tried a car wiper motor of 12v /8Amp and it was not strong to pull even 100g? I’m looking for an old machine that have a motor strong to pull at least 5 kg. Do you have an idea?thank you

Like so many others, I lost the use of one of my arms and want to keep fishing. You can find some electric fishing reels for sale at different websites like fishingabilities.com and mpowrfishing.com. The reels are expensive and not always as nice as the one Alex made, but if you can't make this one, they will get you on the water.
Dear friend,I shall thank you for your kind comments.The fact that those reels are so expensive is very frustrating.Unfortunately, the only help I could provide you with concerns some links from which you may find a suitable electric motor and speed controller.For every other part of the project you should address someone with drill and lathe.

It is probably impossible to find the plastic housing in a store or something because I have created it for the needs of my motor.I used plastic as raw material and transformed it with a lathe.So perhaps, you should try it yourself with some similar tools, my friend.Thanks for your comment!!
