From 1972 to 1986, ELO accumulated more combined UK and US Top 40 hits than any other band in the world, and also generated the third most UK and US separate Top 40 hits.
Your numbers are all wrong. Xanadu charted at no. 1 in the US and UK...Don't Bring Me Down charted at no. 3 in the UK and no. 4 in the US....The album Discovery charted at no. 1 in the UK...Just a few examples...You can find all the correct info on Wikipedia and Google among others...
@@MusicLover10538 My numbers are from Wikipedia. In the U.S., "Xanadu" peaked at #8. Not #1. ELO never topped the U. S. singles chart, with or without Olivia Newton-John.
@@hmackie6823 l am sure that Jeff and the Beatles would have got on quite well. He had George to introduce him and am sure that Paul & John's inquisitiveness would have been peaked by a studio maestro. All being as driven as they were, there is a real possibility they would have pushed each other to bigger and better things.

Just stop it with the stupid underrated/underappreciated comments on bands that are internationally recognised and famous. ELO have sold more than 50 million records worldwide, they are one of the biggest selling bands in music history. They've had 27 top 40 hits in the UK, 15 in USA, and they're inductees of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You might have just discovered them, but they've been recognised as a superbly talented and successful group since 1970, and have never been underrated.
Quel che mi sorprende sempre è sentire come la musica diventi un'energia che dentro muove quel ritmo chiamato swing che caratterizza ciascuno di noi in modo diverso.
Real masterpieces never get to old. Even if will be listen rock'n'roll in 100 years from now, still will be like a dance nuclear blast. Greetings from Poland. :)
@@gregnormal From ELO, my favorite is this: "Rock 'N' is King". From rock (in general) is Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode", and "I saw standing there", from The Beatles (I love them). / But, excuse me, I do not understand English...! / Bye!

❤❤❤Jeff Lynne's ELO will be on Tour this Summer and Fall of 2024 for 32 concerts in North American cities. It's on my bucket list... I already bought my tickets for New York and Toronto.
This song just have 1 million of views while justin bieber have 1 BILLION of views for the shit he does!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT ! Why today's society is so stupid ? Trendy songs are only commercial, nothing else...
There's also the fact that modern videos have the advantage of coming out after RU-vid, this songs peak popularity was years ago, so not as many people are searching for it
Re-watching those old NWA wrestling shows here with this music playing when the R & R Express comes out and the fans go insane still gives me goosebumps.
Still remember being a kid at the Norfolk Scope and the eruption of The Rock N Roll Express coming out to this. The true golden age of professional wrestling and my childhood. To go back in my mesmerizes of those days, so much simpler.

ALWAYS loved this song and remember like it was yesterday when it was released. Just makes you want to get up and dance your ass off! Used to be able to dance like they do in the video...but not any more. I had the pleasure of seeing ELO in concert in the summer of 2019--Jeff Lynn is a class act and ELO will live on forever.
Sex drugs rock and roll, all I have left is weed medical cannabis of course edible antivirals nowI'm a stoner without a boner the3rock andv part is killing me
Great music, and who can stand still to this fantastic music to swing the night away. My husband and I danced until early hours in the morning👏 Sydney Australia🥰
I just came across this song. It brought back so many memories. I was 17ish. My mom and I danced to this song in our living room. She taught me some 60 moves I think. I just remember how much fun we had and every time it came on we would dance. Of course we always got strange looks from my brother. But, today him and his wife have fun going out for a night of dancing 🥰

Listen everybody let me tell you 'bout the rock 'n' roll Feel that rhythm and it's really gonna thrill your soul She said come along with me, to a land of make believe She said rock 'n' roll is king She loves that rock 'n' roll and she plays it all night long That's all she ever tells me when I call her on the telephone She says feel that jumpin' beat, and git up on your feet She says rock 'n' roll is king [Chorus:] Oh let those guitars play Play for me play for me Oh let that song ring out That's how it's meant to be It rolls like a train that's comin' on down the track She rolled over Beethoven and she gave Tchaikovsky back She loves that drivin' beat, she goes dancin' on down the street She said rock 'n' roll is king [Chorus] When she comes around and I'm listenin' to the radio She says you can't do that 'cause all I wanna do is rock 'n' roll Now here I'm gonna stay where that music starts to play She says rock 'n' roll is king
The first time I ever heard this song was in the summer of 1985 when Rock and Roll Express debuted for the NWA and won the tag team titles. From that week and every week thereafter, the fans would explode every time that song would hit. Priceless memories of simpler days!
