You are not aware that in foreign countries D locos 4 to 6 dragging a python freight but in actual each of these Diesel locos are just old Alco or Alstom EMD etc with horse power of 1600 to 2000. But our oldest 50 year old WDM3D rebuilt locos HP is 3600 and even IR scrapped almost 90% of alco fleet in favour of EMD and E locos. Our E locos are 5500HP P7 and 6000HP is G9 as single loco while G 12 is 12000 HP in two loco units collaged. For Loco power and advancement, India is No 3 just behind China and Russia. Even our P7 pulls 24 coaches while VB with same HP pulls 16 coaches whereas less weight and load @330 to 500 KM bullet trains are pulling just 6 or 8 coaches only.

Yes but electric railway reduce running cost significantly. And if the power source is from say a nuclear or hydroelectric plant then the environment impact is very low. Diesel locoa are always kept for backup and emergency

This was not completed and the previously eracted electrical overhead wires dismantle in 2009. The locomotives imported from Great Britan were 30 having code BCU-30 serial number 7001 to 7030. Which were never overhaul till the removing this electrified track.

My Dear friend your information is wrong Pakistan Railways started Electric trains in 1964 From Lahore to Khanewal and this operation was wraped up in 2009 Bcoz all the Eletric train instalations Like Wires,Pools and sub station have to removed for Doubling of track project from Lodhran to Raiwind I will soon release a video on this topic on my channel
