Vicky has got to be one of the best reviewers online. Clear, informative and engaging. As for the i7, leaving the looks to one side (I've learned to judge looks over time, instead of only on first impressions), impressive vehicle!

Nice review Vicky I like the new 7 it has presence and in many tests they are saying this car is now the top luxury car even on par with a Rolls Royce, high praise indeed.
I’m biased as I have a model Y and like the fact that form follows function…although the front could be better. Much like the BMW really. if they could do something about the kidney grill it would make a big difference…I see bugs bunny. Ironically the early BMWs did have big grills…I’m more a fan of the e30 sized grills.
I like the direction that BMW went as far as design language. Very different from other competitors the design stands out in a good way. It may not be every commenters cup of tea but will be to its buyers. I'd buy it without any doubt if I could afford to buy one.
Congratulations 👏 And, as for the design, it does look a bit ridiculous, but on the other hand, the front end on most cars these days, anything on it, tends to look clear and big. And maybe it'll stand the test of time quite well
This is a compromised ICE platform based. It's therefore very heavy, less efficient, smaller interior compared to Pure EV platform car of this size. It's drag coefficient is much worse than EQS Model S and Nio ET7. It's transmission tunnel running at the back has nothing inside, a reminder of compromise.
Sadly in the UK the BMW 7 Series can't be specced with a heads up display, so I won't be changing my current 7 series anytime soon. Very poor from BMW!
Maybe I’m completely wrong but I think Mercedes will always win the chauffeur driven segment. Reason being that a lot of companies that operate these cars ferry people around from airports etc. Features like the big screen in the back are nice but not necessary. And so it comes down to what pulls up in front of you at the airport and what an impression it makes. And as long as a basic S class does the job why would one invest in a more expensive BMW? The market for privately chauffeur driven cars is extremely small.
If you have deep pockets cash wise, then BMW are so willing to sell this expertise and quite rightly but in all fairness to them and the drivers who will pound the motorways in them, who can afford them, even on pay by monthly deals? Cheers Vicki for sharing .
Just cannot get over the current BMW styling. Dreadful front grill and headlights. I long for a less gaudy front something more like the BMW 2002 would be vast improvement
Yeah, can't say I like the looks of this generation. Styling-wise, BMW has lost their way. I suppose big grills seem to have some kind of appeal and makes a statement of some kind, but it just looks awkward. I'll take a 635csi anyday over this.

Why do all these car journalists MISS the obvious …. 1 … If the entertainment screen comes into play is the driver able to see out the back window ?? If not surly there should at least have the rear view mirror switchable to a camera ??? 2 …… WHY is there NO front screen for entertainment for the front passenger ??? Why can you not have a pop up screen above the glove box ?? BUT more importantly WHO in gods name would want to be seen in such a vehicle…. My god it’s ugly !!!
Great review as always thanks. I think more so than any other western manufacturer, BMW has so obviously changed its design language to appeal to the market in China. Whether this means it still works for a buyer in North America or Europe, I guess only time will tell and maybe BMW dont care anyway. Personally I think its an ugly mess on the outside without a single redeeming angle that it looks good from. The interior is much more successful if cheap and gaudy looking in places. I sort of admire the tech but also its getting to the point where I dont care as its just more stuff with an led nailed to it - I mean that grill lit up, really ? It will be really interesting to see if and where this car sells or whether this is another nail in the coffin of the sedan body style. I certainly wouldn't go near one at any price.

The EQS has the advantage of being able to double a family car thanks to the huge boot and hach opening, this one doesn’t. The really thick steering wheel assumes that no short women with tiny hands will ever drive this car which is a macho attitude. Bling bling horrendous look inside out and machismo - eeerrrkkkkk BMW you can do better than that. But then there is XM which appears to have been designed to appeal for psychopaths. Can I buy any other BWM in view of this ? Too bad as some of their others designs are cool (I love the iX1 inside and out for example)
Capacitive sensing is horrible! It is dangerous, bc driver must always take time of the road to do smth unlike real knobs! Even worse - knobs work 10 out of 10 times, capacitive buttons work 3 times out of 10 ... total crap!
