Shawn Maher of Maher Olfactive and Chatillon Lux is pretty much a genius. Everything I have smelled that he has had a hand in has been complex and intriguing, even the ones that I don't gravitate to as much. He has collabed with B & M quite a few times, to my absolute joy. Some of my favorites of theirs are Gratiot Square, Le Petit Prarie, and I actually think if memory serves that he did Sea Spice Lime for Spearhead. I ordered this one in the soap and balm as soon as I saw it. A perfume mega-brain collaborating with a soap base mega-brain is just amazing. 😉
Love your style, Eric. You really show up!! I agree with your assessment of Omnibus-but I have the Cheshire scent ( which I love love love). It’s fantastic for a DE shave and also supplies a great amount of glide and slickness for a SR shave. Amazing! Thanks for your dedication to detail!!

I have discovered with this base that I need to load the brush significantly less. I find loading the brush for around 15 seconds seems to work best, or you will spend 10 minutes working on creating the lather that you want. I had a conversation with Ross about this too when he was reviewing one of their soaps in this base. Cheers Eric! Nice detailed review as always Eric! I agree with your comments about this base. It’s my top although I haven’t tried them all. You are the first I’ve heard about protective qualities and I agree. This base is my go to and especially is great if my skin was irritated prior to the shave. Very hydrating that lasts post shave. It is thick and takes loads of water.. I bowl lather usually so it’s easy to keep adding. I may need to get a sample of this scent. The price is fair and I use less product than most other bases so value can’t be looked at by total product oz. Have a good one.
I like electroswing as well-- check out Parov Stelar, Caravan Palace, Caro Emerald and others. I have enough shaving soap to last 20 lifetimes, but I keep looking...........
Your loquacious video reviews are very intriguing, informative and fun to watch as a long time wet shaver. Can you elaborate a little more on the razor you choose and blade that works best way with that particular razor.? Also, the brush you decide to use with a particular shave soap/cream for best results for your shave. Your demos of soaps and matching after shave splashes have peaked my interest in these newer artisans so much that I have decided to try some of them to experiment and compare. It typically comes down to personal preference really. It varies from person to person what consistency they enjoy or that works best for them. Sometimes it’s just fun to really put the water to a good soap and make a lather that’s ultra hydrated…makes for a damn good shave that’s great on your skin.
