Thanks. Very informative, I asked where I bought my scooter if they made different qualities of brake pads because the ones on my scooter sounded like nails being scratched across a blackboard when ever I applied my brakes. He told me NO. 😒🤨 thanks for illuminating me 😃

Thank you for your vids, very helpful! My front brake rotor is bent/warped from a crash on my Reddy RD1. Are rotors a universal size and fit? I have less than 30 miles on my scooter. Should I change the pads when I replace the rotor?

Hey Rango I think if you have the money then it's worth buying new pads for the new rotor. They shouldn't cost more than about $10. If you don't swap them too there is a chance the brakes will have a weird shimmy or chug when you use them on the new rotor.

GJ Bro! Are you going to do a little something regarding how to brake? Far too many are afraid of using the front brake where 80% of the stopping power is. A little demonstration would rock! Brake test using rear brake only. Brake test using front brake only. Brake test using .. now I wanna do this myself hehe .. e-brake on loose gravel to show how quickly the rear wheel gets out of control and how to regain control. Brake test using front brake quickly followed by rear brake like one is supposed to. Maybe round off with a quick pep-talk about stance and how it affects not only braking performance but also how damaging it is on the scooters folding mechanism when forces are channeled trough the arms / handle bars rather than trough the feets / deck. Not sure where to put it but something about how to nip the brake to transfer weight and therefore grip to the front wheel to handle sudden needs for avasive action.

Why do you want testing using one brake only? I don't recommend that at all. Should be using them both equally. I just filmed leaning back when braking. It's really the only thing that matters besides squeezing both brakes evenly tbh. And it's only damaging to stems on cheap scooters. Anything with a quality stem, it's not damaging at all to put weight on the handlebars, I disagree with that statement. There will be more about stance and shifting weight etc in the drivers ed series. But I will include the leaning back in the next brake video.

To show people how little they get out of the rear brake compared to how much they get out og the front brake.

Well, I'm far too often seeing depleted brake pads on the rear wheel only and from that I'm not so sure that knowing is enough. Maybe some people also need to see it. But it's all ok it was just a suggestion :)

@@ScootaGang Mine is a Phantom. I actually didn't check the rotors yet but saw some videos before and it appears that the rotors engraved the type of brake pads to be used.

@@EricChanYYZ hmm. never seen that before. Ive seen the screw type and directional arrows. I usually inspect it when I have them off too. I don't think it matters. And the rotors are like $6 from china so it hardly matters if you replace them too every few thousand miles tbh. You have to remove it every tire change already...

Great video. Thanks for the links. It's not easy finding pads if it's your 1st time. There's no sizes on the pads or in the manual. I ordered the Nutt ones from Amazon for the VSETT 11+ June 19th. Still waiting. Tried to find others. So I order 2 pairs from RevRides. They definitely mark up the prices but was able to find out the pads they sell & fit. Cool man yeah it’s pain in the butt to find them sometimes. None of my Amazon links are affiliate links either. I don’t like promoting them at all, but for brake pads it just happens to be the best spot! Thanks for sharing man!
