Electric window fix pt.2

It happens to use all...just when you think you have 'fixed' a problem you discover that, in fact, the intermittent fault it still evident.
This was certainly the case with the Nissan Patrol's drivers door electric window so I had to take another look....

i;ve had an intermittent drivers window on my GQ that's bean frustrating me for about 6 months ..just watched your post and i too had a cracked circuit joint on the relay board ..thank you so much, just saved me $200 ..cheers from across the ditch in oz .

Great information and much effort. I had my Nissan hardbody can't operate windows with driver side only other three windows with their individual switches.

Hi Andy l had a fault with my window priced up new relay box $220 ex Japan and recy unit $100 no warranty. After watching your clip l pulled a part my relay box it had the identical problem cracked in the exact same spots, soldered all back up and all good. The joys of lead-free solder; we have the enviro-boffins to thank. I've seen instrument clusters interrupt the CANBUS because of this (causing erratic running /intermittent non start) and driver's door locking modules affect the entire central locking system. Good work! 👍

You were lucky that relay enclosure could be opened... Most electronic modules nowadays are sealed. Great Vid!!! Thanks

Hello mate did you still have power to all window motors before you done this repair as have 3 motors that wont work but drivers 1 does

Hi Andy, I'm having problems with my y60 drivers door window. My window switches appear to be slightly different and I have no relay box beneath the door card? Its a 1996 (p reg) 2.8. I'm in the UK and its hard to find any information!

I wonder how best to resolve a power window that fails at times and rises all tooo slowly??

+ojok brian I had that exact problem on the 2nd door on Drivers side on the Patrol. I stripped the motor and cleaned the commutator segments and brushes. I also lubed the window mechanism and the glass runners and it was fine. Hope that helps. Cheers Andy

my relay is fine, motor works but i notice that there is something wrong with the track at the back, so it wont hold the window up or lift it, even when i help it with my hands. any help?

My window motor is spinning the shaft but the window isn’t going up, any ideas? Mine looks identical to yours
