Electric Wood Groove Cutter Restoration Video
I found this tool from Japan recycles shop only 20$, It doesn't work well, there are few bearings are stacked. After the restoration, this tool works very well and so powerful. You can see the cutting test at the end video.

Wonderful work. I'll add that the Makita 3803A is nearly identical and all the steps he shows here apply to that machine, too.

amazing work as always. You take tools which were considered as top shelf when new in my country, and are now irreplaceable since all the new brands are total crap. So good to see such wonderful tools return to life

This looks like a seriously industrial tool. The bearings and brushes are very large, the shafts are nicely machined and quite large, and the castings all appear to be well designed and sturdy

Nicely done. I have not seen one of these before. Dado machine? Specialized tool. Thanks for not having music or needless Chatter. Great way to install Field Coils.

Yeah I'd rather just watch, not listen to crap. According to what I could find out about this, it's a power plane, in it's day it was probably only used in furniture plants and the like, wasn't really a tool for home use.

toot tall I think Yahoo used to have an auction site in other countries too, but maybe Japan is the last. Still it is quite active here, and I’ve read about agent services who will use it for you if you aren’t in Japan.

Quite well done. Still don't care that you hammer the bearings onto the shafts without support, you lose 50% of the bearing life by doing it this way. Are there different width cutters available to cut different width dado's? Is it hard to control?

Nice restoration, but you should really refrain from putting grease on parts that should not move. Like the outside of bearings or drive shafts.
