Simple demonstration of the charging and discharging process of an electrical capacitor, sometimes also known as a capacitor.
I use an electrolytic capacitor that I am going to charge and discharge with a 4.5 volt battery. Loading and unloading is activated by a switch that opens and closes the corresponding loading and unloading circuits. In order to visualize the loading and unloading we will use separate LED diodes.
Electrical Capacitor:
An electrical capacitor, commonly known as a capacitor, is a passive electronic component that stores electrical energy in an electric field. It consists of two conductive plates separated by an insulating material called a dielectric. When a voltage is applied across the plates, electric charge accumulates, creating an electric field between them. Capacitors are used in various electrical circuits to store energy, filter signals, and regulate voltage. They come in different types, including ceramic, electrolytic, and tantalum capacitors, each with its own characteristics and applications.
Light Emitting Diode (LED):
A light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor device that emits light when an electric current passes through it. LEDs are commonly used as indicator lamps in electronic devices, as well as in lighting fixtures for illumination. They are energy-efficient, durable, and come in a variety of colors and sizes. LEDs have numerous applications, including in displays, signage, automotive lighting, and general lighting. They have largely replaced traditional incandescent and fluorescent lamps due to their longer lifespan and lower energy consumption.
