Hi, great video, as always. As an electrician, I would very much recommend at least adding a fuse and as well grounding all metal parts such as motor housing or the copper tracks. Also I could see an issue with the lamp, or to be precise, with your 12V converter. First is that it doesn't have to be DC, if it is fluorescent light (or if it is, I can't tell for sure). The second, the inportant one is that the motor creates massive voltage spikes during switching, which could destroy the converter.

My concern is the 220v ac power. Why 220v? That's not even a common plug for any home. I'm very disappointed with this video just because of that fact. I'm sure a much smacked 110v could do the same thing...
Thanks for your concern. In UK we have 230v with 10% tolerance. Used to be 240v 20 years ago but we aligned with European standards. Nowadays items listed for sale at 220v is normal and people often say 220 or 230 or 240v when referring to UK mains supply.
hi, I generally love these videos, your sculptures are amazing, however, I'm concerned about your wiring on this one, it looks leathal. Generally, anything that is a conductor and is accessable must be earthed. You don't have an earth wire at all on your diagram, and I see you are using a piece of 2 core lamp flex as the power cord. This is only really acceptible if everything is non-conductive. You mention early in your video that the wiring is compliant, but it's cerainly not the way you have shown it. The problem is, if there is an issue with the wiring, or any of the switches, such that any of the cables come loose over time, then the brass plate or the motor case could become live and electrocute your client. The same can happen with the motor, if something goes wrong internally. Generally AC motors are also earthed and usually have a fitting for earth, usually on the case itself. You also mention in your audio that the neutral return wire is naught volts, which it most certanly is not. The Neutral wire carries the power back out of your circuit. Not a good thing to touch either... The principle is sound, but I'd be very unhappy to purchase something like this. Happy to help you out with your wiring if you like.
Thank you Dave. I genuinely appreciate your helpful comments and I support all the points you raise. I will make the changes and will swap the two core cable to three core, and add earth points accordingly.
