Hi I have a Big muff sovtek Green Russian TALL FONT, and I can't open it. I would like to ask you for a suggestion because I have to straighten the potentiometers which are all three malpositioned, but I cannot lift the top cover ..

-!K. Server UP! i woke up one morning and you shouldn’t have to open it .. If the knobs need to be ‘re positioned’ there is a small flat head grub screw in the knobs .. loosen and set knob in position.. Or take knobs off and you’ll be able to loosen the pots nuts a little and get the pots into position Hope that works for ya Henry 😸 @henrysbigmuffs on Instagram

@@dopemanhenry4654 The knobs have forced engagement, you have to turn the whole potentiometer and not the knob. removed the knob, the potentiometer and under 2 iron plates, one is the green external box (which I can't remove ...!) the other is an internal frame to which the potentiometers are fixed. I think it is essential to open the box to get to the potentiometers. this is the problem, I can't open the box, I can't find other ways to reach the potentiometers ..

@@key.server_up Quick directions to remove the thin outer bent steel cover on heavy cast aluminium Sovtek Big Muffs. 1- remove all flat head screws (x4) 2- remove jack nuts. 3- gently lift the outer steel plate just over the jacks so it rests on them, don’t lift it any further than this. 4- while doing 3, lift the front part over the foot switch. Once it’s all starting to come up then lift it all as one movement. That is all there is to it, it just takes a little to work out which part to move and when. To reassemble reverse all you done. You will need something thin to pry it in the beginning. Occasionally you will have to counter bend the outer shell so when you replace it it isn’t slightly warped. Follow my directions and you can get into it. I’ve done it many times with no problems
