I felt so bad for electro during the movie all he wanted was to be noticed, even on his birthday!! He had that terrible accident on his birthday! He couldn’t control himself at first didn’t want to hurt anybody but then people saw him the way he didn’t want to be seen... POOR GUY!! I LOVE YOU MAX HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Compared to the comics, electro is really dangerous and terrifying in the movie, which does him a form of justice because in the comics he is all too often reduced to a secondary and unimportant enemy.

Fuck it, I'm gonna say it - even if it wasn't the traditional Electro look, his design in this movie was dope af.

Max Dillion in the Amazing Spider-Man is a great example of the world creating a villain. Max was the nicest person imaginable who did everything he could to do what was right. But no matter how hard he tried the world kept pushing him to his breaking point and rocked him to his core. The world betrayed Max and turned him into Electro. It wasn’t Max’s choice, he didn’t choose to be what he ended up becoming, the world decided his role as the villain of the story.

Okay so I know that the audience is suppose to hate the bad guy and all, but in this movie I really can't. Instead of being evil just for the sake of it, Electro (Max) actually has a reason why he became the way he was. It's almost scary if you think about it because, given you were in the situation he was in, you would have probably done the exact same thing. It's not a we simpathise and pitty him situation, it's more of a we can empathise and we understand what he is going through and how he is feeling. It always breaks my heart when Electro is in the middle of Time Square and is heart broken when the ONLY PERSON who he thought actually loved him in this heartless world had betrayed him. And at the end when he dies like, he had to die obviously, but he didn't deserve to die. He had been put through so much shit and was just angry and hurt that he was invisible. I don't know about anyone else, but that hits home harder than any sappy hero backstory I've ever heard.
