@@JamAttack could you give me tips on building full versions and/or remakes? also can you tell me how you knew the boundaries of each update? is there some kind of thing you have that lets you set a certain update for the editor? just curious because i kind of want to make a full version myself

@@vakurai9919 There isn't anyone source of information that tells you the limits of each update. That I have learned over a long period of time with a lot of research. Joining different private servers set in an earlier updates and messing around with them helps. Of course, neither of my to extended versions are perfectly set in those restrictions. I just don't use any objects that were in a later update (besides maybe a few triggers and some text for my "don't die", my 99% death message, and the dedication text at the end) and I only use things like layering, scaling, and parts of tilesets that weren't in the game while the tileset itself was, in order to touch up minor details, their use is always subtle. I call it "cheating" if you watched my streams lol. Anyway, just see the kind of structuring and objects usedin the earlier parts of the level you want to extend, and stick to the same objects (robtop usually themes his level with the objects added in that update anyway) and take inspiration from the earlier parts, while adding your own spin on them. Eventually you'll start to come up with original ideas that fit the level. And remember that it doesn't have to be exactly like the original, take a slight spin on things sometimes. It makes the level a lot more memorable, just make sure they fit in. And heavily utilize the mechanics added in that update. Like speed portals and custom object color in 1.7 and duals and slopes in 1.8, oh one more thing. One thing I wish I noticed earlier, is that every update's level has a unique spinning object around every portal, and it seems to always be the same object. hope that helps ;)

I know 4x speed didn't exist in 1.7 and I guess I'm gonna get this a lot... I just wanted to keep the level fresh in a way that fits the theme, and I figured that was a good way. Besides, 4x hasn't even been used in a RobTop level yet. (he really should make Electrodynamix 2 and use it for the first time in that along with 5x if he adds that)

@@JamAttack people say robtop will add 5x AND 6x speed in 2.2 which i think will come out in August 9 2022.

it was a hard balance to find. Making something fresh and interesting while still making it feel like the same level. I learned a lot about how to do that doing this, and I'd say I'm pretty happy with how I did in the end.

yeah I used player colors a little bit, but I do feel like I should've used them more. Anyway, maintaining the style of the original while still keeping it fresh and interesting is reeaallyy not an easy task.

@@JamAttack yea that is very true. I feel like one other thing that you missed is electrodynamix, while still using a lot of vibrant colors also used a lot of black and deeper colors, which is quite different from all the very saturated colors with little black in the extension
