Hi Guys, just to clarify, this is not used for sport fishing of any kind. It's for environmental and biological purposes. You need a license to electrofish as it is heavily regulated in North America and other countries as well. Check out the wiki article on "electrofishing"
I was going to get all irate but then read a bit about this. Apparently when done correctly this does not harm the fish (that aren't caught.) Lazy but less so than going the the butcher. I'd just be worried about zapping myself.
You guys getting irate about this do realize that this is to study the fish and the area they live in? Which is why they chose a safer way of extracting them than hooking their faces. And they throw them back most of the time!
