Thank you so much Tom! 😍 As I recall, that Electrolux vacuum has several filters that need regular attention. All the very best and thank you for watching!
Thank you so much Lisa. I have an UltraFlex, which I love, but can't find the manual and wasn't sure how to clean the filters. Great informative video!
Im a fussy vacuumer. But I only discovered the large sponge filter today. ( not the blue one) The compartment is poorly labeled, and the sponge was absolutely filthy. Anyway ,I’ve ordered a new filter kit. I rinse all the filters…..it works for me!
Yes I like mine too. I also have a couple of Dysons, but I like that this one is lighter and has a really long electrical cord. I do find though that I usually have to wash that washable filter at least every 3 months, as it really does fill with dust. ..but as I said, I use mine a lot! Enjoy the rest of your day Louise.
I have a Hoover and I clean all the filters every 2 months but it randomly burnt out today, not sure if it works now, it caused the power of the lights to dim and smoke come out of it ah
Crikey. That doesn't sound good! Were all the filters 100% dry before putting them back? Or is there another filter that you've missed? Usually overheating would happen due to water or air not getting through due to too much dust. If the machine is under 3 years old (even if out of warranty) contact the manufacturer. I had a random electrical issue with an old Dyson once and they replaced it, after investigating the fault (plus they could see I looked after it and kept filters clean). Good luck but I'd get it checked.
Hi There Wow We. I bought that particular vacuum cleaner in about 2015. I'm pretty sure it cost about $350 or more back then. I thought it was a great vacuum cleaner and loved the long cord and the fact that it is not as heavy as some of the others. Clean the filters regularly and they last well.
Hi There. That vacuum has a paper filter (in a plastic casing) and a sponge filter (needs to be washed every couple months). Just go to a vac shop or see online for replacement filters. Some paper filters can also be washed but must be careful that they are properly dry before putting back in and using the vacuum cleaner. Good luck and thank you for watching.
Hi. I have the ultraflex as I have birds and need the extra filters. That paper one at the back is supposed to be washable/rinseable but when I tried it just turned to a wet pulp. Have you tried rinsing yours? Also I've seen generic ones on eBay for about $10. Ordered some but Australia Post lost them. So ended up buying the full kit so I have a spare sponge filter for the front. Does your sponge filter have the white layer on one side? Thanks.
Thanks for your comment. No I've never tried rinsing the paper filter as I did not think you could or should, given its made of paper. They do seem to have come down in price though at Godfrey's. I remember paying about $40 years ago, but was only $25 last time. My washable sponge filter did have a white part to it but it came off from frequently washing it. My machine is about 4 or 5 years old now, and works very hard.
Actually, I thought again about what you said Cookiegirl, and you've given me a great idea. I totally need to order some parts for this online, as having a spare sponge filter would be a great way to go. Mine seems to need cleaning every 4 weeks, and having a spare, would make this happen more within the 4 week period. It will also be good to get the cheaper paper filters--if they turn up! Thanks for that idea, and I'll no doubt share the info in future vids. Have a good one.
