That brings back memories, my mum had what must of been the base model, 800w with no catch to recline it, you just tilted it back. I remember the mechanism got loose and it used to flop over when used with the tools, also something happened and the lid over the top of the brush bar where the height selector is used to pop open.

Very nice! I'll always have a soft spot for a Contour, when I were a lad I saw more of these than Hoover cleaners! Their not bad, the suction is fine, and with a good brushroll and new belt they clean acceptably, but I am a bit too tall for it to be comfortable in day to day use! I have to stoop down low. I had a genuine brushroll, it came in a massive job lot of various spare parts. When the machine fell over and snapped the handle in my mums garage I sold the brushroll to another collector, so it's still been of use! I still have a genuine electrolux brushroll, but for a Vitesse sadly, nothing exciting like this! I reckon your one is early/mid 90's, although the design was re-badged a few times from the 80's and 90's!
And, (I've just remembered), I had a Casdon toy Contour when I was little, which is where I think my deep down admiration for the Contour lineup came from. Keep meaning to buy one for me...I mean Eva but haven't seen one yet. Eva has a toy DC01 and Lux 560 though so I've tried, trouble is she knows their toys and wants to use a real one. Having issues with a Turbopower 2 at the moment which is my daily as it's too heavy for her to use. Will have to get a Turbopower Junior down one day... I've never had a Glider though, I'm sure one will pop up one day
Roger!!!! I was getting quite concerned! You went from almost a daily video to nothing in a flash! I had a horrible thought that your Nilco monster sucked you up!!! What a relief. Oh no, that Contour comes with the horrendous Eureka Bravo dual purpose nozzle! ☹️ A waste of valuable plastic if you ask me....
Looks oddly reminiscent of a Hitachi upright I had in the 1990's particularly the front and the carpet height dial etc. I wonder if they were made by the same manufacturer?
