Sir I must commend your effort..I have a question.(1) when Chlorine loose electron at the cathode, the still go ahead to form Chlorine atom, is octect rule not disobeyed since it gives out electon instead of accepting. Cheers

You are right metals lose electron and non metal gains electron but that is in combination reaction. In decomposition reactions metals gain while non metals lose elctrons
