You don't know how important work your videos offer!!!! I spent days and hours with a piece of paper and a pencil trying to understand things in physics when i was a student in 80s. Your videos are precious for my students. Many thanks and greetings from Greece. We love you 👍🙏🌞🌹
Maybe one of these days, videos like this that use 3D animations shown on a 2D screen will be viewable in 3D on a stereoscopic viewer ! Not necessarily viewable from any angle the viewer wants to see but from angles the presenter (Eugene, etc.) would like the viewer to see for best explanation.
@@k7iq that would be a dream come true honestly. Imagine the insights and intuition it could offer curious students and the advancements it could lead to.
What would 90s kids give for these videos back in their school years. Todays kids have tons of high quality visual material about everything in the world for few clicks. Big thumbs up for this channel.
I know right this kind of stuff and Stanford lectures and MIT open courseware this is the potential of the internet being exploited to its fullest extent. Instead people want to watch cat videos.... I don't get it
This us really helpful. You are helping thousands of students who cant afford expensive education. This small small topic videos are way better to think in a research topic. Thank you
Very comprehensive and clear visual explanation of concepts. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise. Please allow me to use this in my Physics lessons. Thank you and more power.
Thanks for the compliments. Once a video is on RU-vid, you are allowed to show it anywhere, including in front of a class, so long as you are playing it directly from the RU-vid channel of the video owner. Many teachers already show my videos in their classrooms in this way. Thanks.
This is an excellent video and very clearly explains the relationships without over burdening the mathematics on the student. Please continue with these wonderful explanations.
Difficult concepts are explained beautifully in the animations. Videos of this channel are truly unique and exceptional. Please keep producing such gems which are a real treat to watch.
Congratulations. for my 5 year electric collage course and 2 years, you are the first one make me able to get a grasp of 3rd and 4th maxwell equations.
@@EugeneKhutoryansky I studied particle physics in grad school and now work as an engineer for particle accelerator called "Protoon therapy system" to treat cancers. Really happy to find your videos. Will come frequently to make my physics base stronger :).
Genuinely good question answered in a very good way. I remember having the exact same question a few years ago and i believe today ive truly answered it!
Whenever I feel depressed, ur videos turn me back to life. Learning is a free dopamine and the source of happiness... Thanks for the amazing medicine:)
I have literally been trying to understand this relationship for years because as you said, it’s counterintuitive when you look at Maxwell-Heaviside equations. Thanks so much for the informative video
I love your work, you provide the most information of any science RU-vidr without literally being a college lecture. Please make more 30 minute videos!
It is useful to note that the presence of nonzero curl is not necessarily related to the presence of vortices (curved lines) in the vector field. Moreover, a vector field with vortices can have a zero curl.
Another canonical explanation from Eugene---the first explanation that should be given to every undergrad learning these equations for the first time. 👏👏👏
The first time I realized, that curl phase-locks E and B. Also nice to see how two waves interfere and how circular polarization comes from shifted waves. So this video could act as a foundation to go further, as there are open questions. One is: How can the wave be expended in space, as curl is only locally defined and: while linearly polarized waves pack energy in space, circular polarized waves show constant energy density. And: when the electromagnetic field oscillates locally (at the antenna) E and B are out of phase. So there has to be a phase shift to radiate waves. This principle of localized energy: out of phase, moving energy: in phase, seems to hold in general.
There is no more powerful method for conveying a message than graphic visualisation. At least for lesser mortals like me. So, this video is perfect for me. Oh, and the music seemed to alternate between a solo piano and rock! Love that too. So thank you.
To be honest, while I was looking at a representation of a photon, I thought "If one is creating the other, how are they both simultaneously at peak and at zero?", but I didn't think about it again until this video, but now it makes so much sense. Thank you a lot for this helpful video!
@@EugeneKhutoryansky I love your videos, they are intuitive, sensitive. Bouddha : "Reality is an illusion. The Truth is that there exists only one thing : a vibration, the vibration of the universe." Do objects have colors..? Is the grass green..? No, of course... During the night, all objects are black, the grass is black.. and everyone knows that the light is composed by all colors.. The only thing we really see is the electromagnetic spectrum of the light. Reality is just an electric signal in our brain : reality is the perception of our 5 physical senses. And as the scientist your are, you understand that the only thing that exits is.. the electromagnetic spectrum... ... an infinite vibration.. ♉♉♉
I never even knew I needed an answer to this quesion, I mostly just did the math and whatever came out was what I acknowledged. Thank you immensely for this beautiful visual and intuitive representation of why EM waves have their E and B fields in phase.
This is like visualizing EM waves from Maxwell's brain. That is why my mind is blown away, cant handle so much of intelligence. Thank you guys for adding perspectives.
Wow, beautifully done. I needed to produce 5 video's covering the math basics and each equation taking ~3 hours in total. Then I added another half hour to derive the electromagnetic wave itself but completely missed the phase syncing which is a nice addition. Thank you for sharing.
I'm very much thankful to you... I'm M.sc student but when I watch your videos I get actual visualisation of real subject....hope you cover as many topic as u can...😁🙌
