ELECTRONIC GOVERNOR FOR 70 HP STEAM ENGINE 

For electricity generation, steam engine should revolve at constant speed even though load varies. Mechanical governors were invented to keep the speed constant even though load varies from no load to full load.They were quite sensitive for quick changes and highly efficient. But science of calculating the parameters of dead weights, distance from pivot , spring tension and its pivot point etc are not known properly. So we had to find electronic governor.
One such electronic governor has been connected to 70 hp steam engine and has been calibrated by computer programming.
Running of steam engine with small service boiler has been shown in this video.
The performance is not the perfect as steam pressure drops rapidly as boiler capacity is very small. But with proper boiler capacity where pressure is maintained, it is bound to work properly.
