Electrostatic sprayers, which apply an electrostatic charge to disinfectant spray, is being increasingly used to fight the spread of coronavirus. Don Ford reports. (4/29/20)
My job wants us to use this. But they don't give us the proper equipment to wear while using. So I never touch it. Honestly am considering calling OSHA on my company.
Finally got mine after a two month wait. Got it for a lot less than a grand, too. But getting Purtabs is a pain right now. But if you're knowledgeable enough, you'll realize that they're the same chemical, "dichlor", that you can find in any common pool supply store. Just buy dichlor granules in bulk and dilute to your desired concentration. Keep in mind that at concentrations required to kill nasty, persistent bugs like c.diff (~5000PPM), it will evaporate and leave behind a crystalline residue.
This sanitation pistol is not on the California legal handgun roster. The bottle holds more than 10oz of liquid. Same applies to New York but with the more restrictive 7oz limit.
Well, that and a corona (heh) discharge ring to electrostatically charge the droplets. It also helps that it's got a handy nozzle to rapidly change between different droplets sizes for customized disinfectant dwell times.
problem is disinfectant machine isnt sold disinfected . So you could get sick from the gun and box . So i suggest buying two one to use and the other to disinfect the other one when you get it....oh wait?
You could just use a regular cheapo spray bottle, but you'd have to be more thorough and your hands will be much more tired. The disinfectant itself is very inexpensive to make yourself.
My company use's this same thing but the only issue I've had using it is the chemical sprays out extra chemical after you stop spraying and leaves behind huge drops of liquid on the ground . If the chemical kills covid that you're using why spend that much money when a sprayer or spray bottle works and covers more area.
The Protexus/Victory sprayer can use any disinfectant, but they recommend their own NaDCC/dichlor/dichloroisocyanuric acid effervescent tabs. I just picked up a bucket of dichlor granules from my local pool supply store. It's the same stuff. I'd even go as far as to say it dissolves faster.
Electrostatic spray disinfection, During spraying, these static water droplets form an electric field that is attracted to any surface within a certain distance by electrostatic force. The gravitational pull of the electrostatic field is 75 times that of gravity, causing droplets to reverse direction, covering the back of objects and even hidden, hard-to-reach surfaces that would normally be ignored by conventional sprays.
Its drippy when its not cloged and it clogs super easy. Also the shape of the tank and placement of the nozzle makes it so you don't use all the chemical unless you tilt it like crazy. And let me say again clogs are a pain to clean out.
Different chemical. This is chlorine-based. And people really should lay off the quats. It's causing a lot of people asthma sensitivity and it's next to impossible to eliminate from a surface once it's sprayed on it, not to mention it's probably going to cause the next superbug explosion.
I don't think this product is intended for individual use. It's intended to be used by businesses, airlines, office buildings, etc, not your family household.
I hate it with every fibre of my being, that companies take advantage of peoples fears and worries. A thousand dollars for something that costs less than 100 dollars to make.
