Yvresse is my mother’s favorite fragrance. She used to wear it for weddings, nights out, etc (it was either Yvresse or Rive Gauche actually). I remember it from when it was called Champagne. And I still remember the exact day we learned its name had changed. It was on a vacation in Tunisia. My father wanted to offer a new bottle of Champagne to my mother, and the lady in the shop told us it was now called Yvresse because of legal reasons 🙂

U are 1000% correct. There are no elegant perfumes anymore but the ones from yester year. Why is that?! This is why I’m going backwards with my purchases because the majority now is sweet, masculine not that many that are memorable except for Chanel coco Mademoiselle, Alien, Angel, Delina. Delina is the more newer just a few years but it’s beautiful

I had a bottle of the newer J’adore and gave it away because the scent didn’t work for my body chemistry. However, I recently “discovered” 5th Avenue by Elizabeth Arden. I own many niche fragrances that are quite expensive, but the 5th Avenue is affordable and my favorite! It’s such an elegant ladylike fragrance with my body chemistry. I purchased a backup bottle for the future 😀

I was visiting my mother recently and found my own abandoned bottle of YSL Champagne that I bought when it was released. I think that I went through a bottle and repurchased this scent. You have named some beautiful fragrances. I have had the original Jadore and Amarige. The first fragrance I bought for myself was the Ysatis at 19 years old the sales representative recommended it and I fell in love with it and always received compliments. I love the original Tiffany. I received my first bottle as a gift at age 21. Along with Lauren by Ralph Lauren. They have made several new Tiffany perfumes and I don't care for any of them. I have a bottle of Cinema by YSL I bought at a vintage perfume shop in Phoenix several years ago and I wear it occasionally. I am also a fan of many Estee Lauder scents particularly Private Collection and Spellbound. Older men usually compliment me on those scents. Very few men my age (50) enjoy vintage scents.

I bought Champagne in extrait for my mum when it was first released. I remember it cost me about £50 for 7.5ml and in those days that was expensive, especially as I was just a kid and it was a considerable purchase. The current version is really nothing like the 90s version. I still have an old bottle and the one in the cube sold as Yvresse is very different. If you like fruity florals with a vague chypre angle, the current one may appeal but the original is a classic fruity chypre. The original was a masterpiece
@lukeparfums
@lukeparfums 4 месяца назад
Hi there. That was a lot of money back then for sure. I agree with you; the chypre aspect of the scent is what makes it special. Yvresse is an absolute masterpiece! There aren’t many classic fruity chypres that are elegant. Thanks for watching!🙂

Hi Luke, Lancome Miracle is not quite simular to PWL, wich is an elegant floral summer scent. Although Miracle is also a lovely, fresh and light scent. In my opnion Estee Lauder Pleasures is more simular to PWL but unfortunately it disappeares within an hour on my skin. Ysl Y is not discontinued but not avalaible where I live, so I'm careful on my sample. And, not surprising, the bottles have changed.

And, my goodness, I just realised that Tosca is from 1921!!! Was No5 before it then ? Who cares, as there were aldehydic florals ever since Floramye and Rêve d'Or, and who knows maybe even earlier.
